The Bygone’s warm and welcoming atmosphere is reminiscent of an old-school social club, while our open rotisserie grill, signature whiskey bar and craft cocktails add a flair that is undoubtedly contemporary. Experience the vibes and the views.
Service was outstanding! Ambiance was great! Drinks were masterful and creative! Food...ehhh... the food was ok and presentation was great, but the prices for the small amount of food is not worth going here for dinner. If you decide to go here...eat dinner somewhere else, but plan your evening of drinks here.
Beautiful. Very cool vibe and good is outstanding
Seating by the window is perfect for enjoying the incredible view of Baltimore. Lots of interesting twists on preparing sea bass, snapper, rotisserie etc. presentation of dinner was also very nice.
Amazing views of Baltimore. Noise from the lounge spilled over into the dining area so that was less than ideal. The gentleman who was the highlight of the evening relative to service runs the elevator. He was very professional and welcoming. Unfortunately, he was being publicly berated by another employee, both upstairs and downstairs. Highly inappropriate and from what we could tell, unwarranted. My husband and our 9yrnold daughter were at the restaurant the week before and the same gentleman running the elevator was there and made our little girl feel so special. He deserves better treatment than wht he was given on 2/16/19. The food was average in our opinions. We had the Dover Sole and Chilean Sea Bass. Our somolier was lovely. We may consider going back just for the views/ambiance if we sit far away from the lounge.
Impressive dining experience. Best view in Baltimore. Service and food was excellent.
This place was amazing—amazing views, delicious food, outstanding service. A little formal, so perfect for a special night out.
Beautiful view of the Baltimore harbor, excellent waiting staff, and delicious food made Bygone an excellent experience. Highly recommend.
The food was very good. The atmosphere was relaxing and we loved the music. It was nice for a change of pace. The servers were very kind.
Bygone was Amazing!!!!!! We definitely will be coming back for more!!
Great food and service!
Only issue when you spend $350 for two
For dinner, shouldn’t have to hear the
Disco music loudly from the bar
Wow. What a great dining experience. The views were breathtaking. The servers were helpful in suggesting meals and a wine that paired well together.
Great food, great view of the harbor.
Poor service on V Day. Manager was really rude when we brought issues to him.
My fiancé and I have dined at the Bygone several times and previously had wonderful experiences. For this dinner reservation we were seated at a table next to the bar where they apparently placed ‘overflow’ tables for an anticipated busy dinner service. The table was small and uncomfortable and the lighting was terrible. The ambiance was also not what I was expecting for our Valentine’s Day dinner. My fiancé and I both asked for us to be moved to the dinning room and the waiter was all to happy to accommodate. However the manager stated we would have to wait, which was understandable and ok, until he stated it could be up to two hours. As I was speaking to the manager at least two couples came in for reservations and were immediately seated in the dinning room. The manager continued to tell me our table was the best in the house and that he could not give me a time frame for a new table in the dinning room. He also tried to convince me one of the couples was a party of 3 instead of a party of two. He wasn’t very friendly and seemed unwilling to accommodate our request. I again informed him we were ok to wait for a table in the dinning room, however two hours was unreasonable and unacceptable (our reservation was for 8:45p). We waited and were finally seated in a booth in the dinning room. Other than our initial seating arrangement and my interactions with the manager, the experience was good. However, The Bygone will no longer be a “go-to” establishment in our book.
Visited here for Vday-Overall great experience! Hubby really enjoyed which I was surprised- he’s skeptical of high end restaurants because he doesn’t feel like they give you enough food. Only complaint is that the last meal took quite awhile to be served! I’ll give them a pass since Vday is usually a busy night!
Exceptional waiter and staff. Food was prepared perfectly leaving you with a great experience.
It was a great experience on Valentine’s Day! Food are excellent and delicious. Waiter is very attentive to us explain all the menu and a good recommendation of wines and whiskey’s. Definitely coming back on a next special occasions with my love.
Decided to dine for Valentine’s based off of a friend’s recommendation. Well, maybe we should have tried this restaurant on another evening. The elevator ride up was great and so was the view. However, once we were seated the attention to detail was nonexistent. The amount of time between each course was incredibly long, in fact we decided to skip the last two courses because we’d already been sitting for 2 hours. When the food reached the table it was warm at best. I’m very disappointed and don’t know if we’ll be back.
The restaurant ambiance is outstanding. From taking the elevator to the roof top with the super friendly concierge to the beautiful decor and amazing staff. The food was superb and the view of the city was beautiful. My second time at bygone and did not disappoint!
The Bygone is pleasurable for multiple occasions. I was there for a celebratory event in the evening and the ambience was above par throughout the establishment. My party and I were met with professionalism and curtesy from the staff as we were lead to our area. Once you are comfortable, the decor and uncontested scenery overlooking the city is the next thing to catch your attention. At the risk of drawing this out, I'll be brief. The food and libations were to our liking; and someone is always in the vicinity to meet your needs. Ironically, I was in the area days later and made a reservation for brunch. I was equally pleased and full upon my departure. There are a couple of things to note: 1) make a reservation prior to arrival and 2) the bar half can get busy with noise and foot traffic, specify your desired comfort zone. In closing, there was a gentleman who moved throughout the restaurant checking on the needs of the patrons, on both days, with a certain degree of sincerity. After a moment of conversation, I discovered he was the general manager (Ben) responsible for the stellar service from the staff. I was gratified to have met him and his staff in assistance, Darcel and Quentin.
Fabulous views, informed and professional staff, but kitchen was completely overwhelmed. We went for Valentine's day. Prix fixe six course meal took over FIVE hours to serve. The food except for one dish was amazing, but the amount of time it took (1 hour between courses) was simply not ok. At $150 per person for a preset menu, the process was frustrating and took an incredible amount of self-awareness on our part to not let it ruin the evening. A special note for the servers (main waiter, bread servers, water servers, etc.), the elevator operator and sommelier... They were simply wonderful despite the kitchen issues. They saved the night.
View and meal were outstanding. Our server, Ernie, was very knowledgable and helpful. Will ask for him specifically when we return.
Overall, the food and atmosphere were spectacular, however the service was not what one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. We showed up 15 minutes early for our reservation, checked in, and grabbed a drink at the bar. We returned at our reservation time, were told our table was being bussed, but we weren't seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time, without real apology. When we finally sat, no one greeted us for more than 5 minutes. The steak tartare and the ceviche appetizers were delicious, and our meals were also great (and exciting! Flambe!) But it took a long time after our plates were cleared for them to offer us a dessert menu, and then greater than 25 minutes went by before we had to ask about the status of our desserts. They brought one out 5 minutes before the other (in the interest of time), which made our date awkward. Finally, our anniversary (which I had noted in our reservation) was not acknowledged until the very end of our meal, after the check came and was signed.
We enjoyed our evening at Bygone immensely. The view was spectacular. The service exceeded our expectations. And the food was delicious, What more can you ask?
Absolutely Incredible in every way !
Highly recommend for any occasion....
Everything was really nice, from the food to the service.
Food was great and service was very attentive
With high expectations, my husband and I arrived at the Four Seasons for their Sunday brunch at Bygone. We had a reservation for 12 noon, table for two. The staff were friendly and considerate. However, the restaurant space itself doesn't accommodate the traffic and flow necessary for a leisurely brunch. The food is served on tables arranged in the small atrium and along what is a walkway to the bar so when it's busy, you're dealing with bottlenecks for certain food stations. We would have accepted that if the actual food and it's presentation had been up to what we expected of a Four Seasons property. The raw bar consisted of steamed shrimp, oysters on the half shell and on the side, a small plate of smoked salmon. The oysters were the smallest that we had ever seen! Plus half were tiny ones from the west coast. Surely, sourcing oysters from the Chesapeake and Atlantic would have been preferable. We can get medium sized oysters at a local restaurant's happy hour that are at least three times the size of what was being served. The shrimp were beautiful but a bit tough. The smoked salmon was usually empty. Also empty were most of the desserts and pastries even though we were there for and hour and a half. The rest of the food was fine but nothing exceptional. Plates were always in short supply. For some reason, the kitchen couldn't provide enough as we constantly heard customers asking where the plates were. The man who appeared to be the manager was doing his best to cover shortages but just wasn't able to keep up. In addition, the dining areas were very noisy and the tables close together which make getting up and down tricky. For $60 per person, not including any alcoholic beverages, I feel that the Four Seasons could have done better.
Fabulous experience which captured my entire night with great people. Staff Jeff was so attentive and provide great service to us.
Amazing view of the city. The food and drinks were good. The bar was a great place to hangout for a cocktail after dinner.
Excellent our favorite place in Baltimore
My husband and I enjoyed every moment from cocktails to dessert at Bygone. The view is spectacular, the ambiance is warm, the service is attentive and personalized, and the food is amazing. Bygone is an upscale restaurant without that pretentious air - it's definitely a gem in Charm City and we'll be returning!
Overpriced and overrated. Food was ok, but I had the same quality food for half the price. View is good, but unless you seat by the window, it’s a moot point. Plus it’s Baltimore...
They do put a good show in greeting and serving you!
WOW!!! Fantastic views, great service and EXCELLENT food!!!
Best waffle I have ever had. Nice selection on the buffet table. great service and beautiful view if you get the window tables. There is a dress code, but several people were not properly dressed for such a high class place.
The best view in Baltimore. Food was great staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this if you’re in Baltimore.
In town for a getaway and planned on fine dining. We love a view so this was the obvious choice. Predinner drinks in the bar. Bar atmosphere was loud with club music at only 8:00. Otherwise bar was very nice, good service, speakeasy cocktails.
Seated for dinner with an excellent view. Servers were friendly, joking etc. Food was good, not amazing but good. Prices were fair. Had several table side presentations which were fun. Overall, if there was no view I wouldn’t go back while in town.
I asked for a great view with the reservation as it was my fiancé’s 30Th Birthday and they absolutely delivered. Great service and food.
Food was terrible ,overpriced Go to the bar for a cocktail and the view. Skip the restaurant!
