It was so good to return to Byblos after a long absence. The Fogo Island cod was perfectly cooked on a light fragrant curry sauce which didn’t overpower the fresh taste of the fish. The short rib kebabs were outstanding. Melted in your mouth. Byblos is one of the best restaurants in the city for Mediterranean food. The dishes are always cooked to perfection. Great to be back!
My husband and and I loved every dish we ordered, and plan to dine at Byblos again soon. It was a lovely experience.
Basically the foods for white people who are used to bland food. If you have tried authentic middle eastern / south Asian and you come here you’ll be disappointed. Go To Amal it’s much better ambient and food is way better
Fantastic,The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and we had a lot of fun sitting at the newly constructed patio watching the world go by.
Can’t wait to go back.
Great patio. Great food. Great service. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful birthday dinner on the Yonge st patio. Which you’d expect to be noisy but was wonderful.
This restaurant is expensive and high end. I would say it is more ideal for date night rather than a meet up with a friend.
They really need to improve the patio shade situation. Tiny umbrellas, which can’t be tilted on the side of Yonge Street with evening sun aren’t good enough. We enjoyed our meal, food and service was excellent but we were exhausted by the heat.
Love the service, food and cocktails. Great restaurant and management.
Fantastic evening. Very well developed flavours. Highly recommend!
Food was outstanding, as always, such amazing mixture of flavours!
For $150+ we felt this was not worth it at all.
We were looking for a decent meal out and were shocked at the lack of value this restaurant was delivering. Wilted lettuce in the appetizer. Burnt meat hidden in the sauce. A sad attempt at a Mediterranean fish. A much fresher, lighter meal can be had down the street at Grazie or Stock. Won't be back.
Really nice spot, service was bare minimum and menu was good but pricy for the portion sizes
- Food was mediocre: black truffle rices was great, short ribs were dry and lacked flavour, cauliflower were plain, dumplings were decent. Portions are pretty small overall. When considering price of the food, this was definitely not worth it.
- Patio was decent and spacious but there’s little to no shade
Everything about our visit from beginning to end was exceptional. The only thing I would change is switching the lamb ribs for the short ribs, the lamb ribs were pretty fatty. Still delicious though! Amazing service, food and drinks, ambience, everything. Thrilled to be back “in” a restaurant.
food service vibe… all excellent !!
First patio dinner in nearly 16 months. Made a last minute reservation and was happy we could go out. Makeshift patio set up on Yonge Street. Food was great as always as was the service. I respectfully request they put back the home made bread they used to serve with the roasted beets and Labneh instead of the pita. My review took off a star for ambience but note that we dined on Yonge Street and not inside - that would have been 5. Next time
Amazing Food! Great Service!
Perfect dinner with my wife
Food is excellent. Delicate flavours. Unique.
Would like slightly bigger cauliflower and cod portion with some side veggies.
Fish done perfectly. Fresh. Complicated sauce crafted well.
Truffle rice very special.
Celebrated my birthday here and it was amazing, the food was great and so was the service. The food is better to be shared to try a little of everything which was delicious.
They need a new carpet and some on the sitting areas are in very bad shape and some of the buds furniture are very dirty need some maintenance
Best restaurant meal we've had in a very long time!
Beautiful interior, amazing food- halal options which is always lovely.
Food and service were excellent. A bit on the pricey side but overall it was a great experience.
Amazing restaurant( respect of covid rules) excellent food
We have been to Byblos a few times however it was our first time at the uptown location. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Byblos is one of our favourite restaurants and we were shocked at how flavourless the food was. Out of the 6 dishes we ordered we only really felt like one lived up to our expectations based on prior visits to the downtown location. In fact one of our rice dishes tasted like dish soap. I would not recommend this location. I expect that if diners are paying hundreds of dollars for a dining experience, the food should pack a punch. Overall disappointing and I will not be returning to this location
Off the charts in every respect. We loved the upstairs romantic corner table and our server and sommelier were knowledgeable, friendly and true professionals, with a great sense of humour too. We will be back again soon!
Superb. Such nice people running such a terrific restaurant. Food is sensational.
Took a friend out for her birthday, she absolutely loved it, the ambience and food was on point and definitely gave her the excellent birthday she deserved! Definitely will go back! I just wish they’d put pictures of their menu item so that it’s easy to see what we’re ordering, if you haven’t been before it’s a little difficult to know what it is you’re getting! But nonetheless food was good!
The food here is excellent. Prices might be a little high. 5 dined for $350
Loved the atmosphere, service and the food was amazing!
Really good food
Very nice atmosphere
Great experience. Food was amazing, service was fantastic, ambiance was perfect. Slightly pricey for the portion size but a nice experience none the less
Great Ambience, excellent, timely and courteous service. Food was outstanding. I usually frequent the downtown location but decided to change it up this time around and I wasn't disappointed.
Mediterranean food is tricky to get “just right” and Byblos missed the mark. Some dishes had too much spice and others had too little resulting in my overall food rating of 3 stars.
Beets/labneh - you can’t go wrong. The bread with roasted sesame seeds done in their wood burning oven were delish.
Eggplant kibbeh was also amazing if you love cinnamon.
Octopus was too lemony and the Menti dumplings had no flavour.
Wagyu pide was delicious - again done in their wood burning oven. Yum.
Lamb shoulder - I found it on the spicy side but I love spicy. The meat was tender. The lavash should have been served to keep it warm (like taco wheels) as it got crunchy.
Branzino was mild and cooked nicely.
Cauliflower was a bit too charred resulting in a burnt flavour. Brussel sprouts and fries were a huge hit.
Skip the desserts.
I’ve been downtown and it was a much better experience. They need to iron out the flavours because overall it’s a beautiful space and great location.
So tasty and the service was excellent!
Always an amazing dinner. It is top of my list of restaurants to go to.
Food is exceptional. The short ribs outstanding. Never disappoints.
Such a wonderful evening out. The ambience was perfect and the food was a culinary delight.
Patricia is an exquisite server. Her attention to detail is impressive. Exceptionally attentive.
Thank you so much for your genuine service.
All the best.
