    Don’t miss out on Sarasota’s best chef! Patrik is a mad genius and he offers the only chef’s tasting menu in our area that will remind you of a Michelin star restaurant in LA or NYC. Every course tells a story and is well constructed. The plates are beautiful. You’ll end up trying things you have never had before because of the detailed design of the aesthetic and presentation. Go quick! This is considered a pop-up right now and we aren’t guaranteed to have it forever. - Dan Minor

    If you want a unique Swedish experience with a home grown speciality of a master tasting menu by a renown Swedish chef in a easy to reach location near airport with plenty of free parking then this is your best choice.

    Exceptional food and service! Perfect for a date night or special occasion. The chef even bought out some dishes to our table! He changes the menu every 3 weeks and we will definitely be back! 12/10 recommend!

    It’s like eating in Michelin 1 star restaurant in France. The food and presentation are incredible. Kelsey, the server is knowledgeable and friendly. The ambience ( lobby of a hotel near the airport) is all that prevents this place fro 5 stars across the board. However, because of that, I just dress casually, so who cares? Go for the only restaurant of its kind in Sarasota; but only if you like great food.

    We had a fabulous time and would recommend to anyone that enjoys fine dining. Patrik prepared the tastiest treats that paired perfectly with the wine. Every time we visit By Patrik Pettersson we leave completely satisfied. His creativity with a constantly evolving menu is the perfect reason to visit often! Highly recommend!

    We enjoyed an inspired menu by Chef Patrik this week. It was my husband's birthday and we wanted to try a special restaurant and this did not disappoint. The menu changes evert 3 weeks and we are hooked! We wish we could have that skagen toast every day - it was that good! The ambience is European and the chef cooks in an open kitchen using induction burners and a few other appliances which demonstrates that it is not the fancy appliances, but rather the skill and imagination of the chef!

    My fiance and I enjoyed the seven course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each course and its accompanying wine selection were outstanding. Flavor profiles were well balanced, and the presentation was visually pleasing. In addition to the delicious food, we were impressed with service. Our server, the owner, and the chef were attentive and knowledgeable. We will put this establishment on our list of frequent go-to places.

    OUTSTANDING! We have been coming at least once a month since November. Every visit has been even better than the one before. If there is something on the menu that you absolutely don't want to try, Patrik is also able and willing to substitute another dish. The food is wonderful and Justin's wine is exceptional. We look forward to our next visit!

    We were greeted and sat by the owner which always makes the experience more enjoyable. He was very pleasant and attentive. I was very surprised the restaurant was in a hotel which seemed a little odd. But, I came for the food, not the ambiance. The wait staff and the chef were also very friendly and accommodating. All of the dishes were surprisingly good. But the duck was exceptional. I have never had duck so tender. The 2 negatives were the wine pairing and sizes of the pour. I thought the price was too high but the pours were sizable. I think the pours should be half the size and the price should follow suit. (7 pours is a lot of wine for the average person but you don't want to miss the experience) The cocktail pairing takes away from the taste of the food. I would return and order a glass of Pinot and one California Cab. I wanted to give it 4.8 but they only allowed 4 or 5. I will return. I feel bad because I really wanted to give it a 5 because of the excellent service we received.

    We had an absolutely enjoyable time here! The service, atmosphere, and cleanliness were marvelous. The chef and menu were outstanding. Justin and his staff were extremely welcoming and made our night very relaxed and memorable. Laura was superb behind the bar as well. By Patrik Pettersson is a definite must for a nice night out that is different from your standard restaurant experience!

    Wonderful tasting menu! Our delicious tasting menu was kicked off with a "liquid bread" course that kept our palates guessing. The Duck and Langenstein risotto were favorites. Kroppkaka, a Swedish potato treat with a citrus sauce was scrumptious! The 3 desserts: Peanut Butter pie in a chocolate shell, creme brulee, and pecan pie topped off the experience. The entire staff was very attentive. Thank you, Chef Patrik and Kelsey, for a memorable evening!

    I didn't think the chef could do any better than our last visit. I was wrong! The food was even better and Patrik put up with all my likes and dislikes to adjust the menu to make our experience Epic! Justin also came up with a wonderful wine to complete our dinner. The pastry chef also is to be commended. Can't wait to go back!!!!

    The restaurant is situated in the hotel lobby. My husband and I chose the 7 course dinner. The staff is highly attentive. We did not do the wine pairing however, my husband had the Sarasota sour cocktail and said it was very good. The owner, Justin is hands on at all times. The kitchen is open and you can see the chef and his son preparing the dishes. All the plates were presented like art on a canvas, unique sauces, creative seasonings and brilliant in color. . Every course was delicious. An INCREDIBLE dining experience.

    You can’t find a better cooked, tasting menu, or personal service with chef, his son the sous-chef, maitre-de with three girls or service girl with 3 boys to have all made for a delightful evening. It was an incredible evening for our birthday party of 5 and our only regret was that there weren’t enough diners to take advantage of this incredible dining opportunity. We definitely intend to return with 30 days and will encounter friends and colleagues and associated organizations like Notre Dame University, Ivy League Club and the Swedish American Society to come, visit and enjoy the haut cuisine.     The chef was very accommodating for allergies and that food was top notch. Loved everything about it. There were a few things off putting at first though when we arrived. Not enough ventilation for the smoke being one (the kitchen is very close by and not enclosed) and waiting more than 15 minutes before someone got to us to bring water bringing me to my next point. The wait staff seem to not have sections and therefor the free for all caused confusion over who is serving who. This caused an excessive amount of time between every course. Our first course for instance took over 30 minutes to get then 25 minutes for the 2nd etc. this was really annoying to be honest but, the reason I gave them 4 stars was the honesty. They apologized and got one top of it after the 3rd course and everyone was very nice and understanding. While I feel like there is room for improvement the staff seemed to want to improve and that is what is important and makes me want to try it again sometime. The last critique I have is that everyone study’s a wine spectrum or perhaps have one on hand. I asked for non dry and either fruity or sweet and three different people pointed to a Cabernet which is a full bodied red, dry, and woody wine. Opposite side of the spectrum. I politely accepted it and moved on but I would have expected an establishment that offers wine pairings on their menu to know and have at least a few of the basics. I did also ask for a sweet white and was offered a mascato which is more my style. Hopefully, next time we can take these stars up to five.

    We went there for the Valentine’s Day dinner. The servers are not trained well to work in fine dining restaurant. Everyone kind of running around serving and helping, but seems a little clueless. I get it. Don’t expect good service during Valentine’s Day. Food is good, but portions is way too small. You can one small cookie size bruchestta as appetizer. The lobster entree is a small 3 oz lobster, not much flavor, with a half asparagus tip, and one teaspoon of potatoes cream. The 5 course dinner was $110 per person, not including alcohol, as we don’t drink. I have traveled all around the world and have tried these types of dining experiences, this would be the most expensive, yet my stomach didn’t feel full.

    I went here on Valentines Day, and this had to be one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had. The food was not anything special, nothing really blew me away and the serving size felt smaller than a typical 5-7 Couse meal. The service staff was friendly but did not know what they were doing or what meal we were on, I had to flag someone down because no one took our drink order for the first 30 minutes. I thought that the restaurant would be a little more closed off from the hotel, as I am eating, I watch a shirtless man walk in from the pool and go up to the front desk, not the best view while I am eating my dinner. Overall, I thought this was way overpriced for the experience I received and I will not be going back.

    White tablecloth fine dining in an unconventional location. Every dish was well prepared and beautifully plated. The wine pairing complimented each dish and made for a great experience. It was busy and they maybe could have used one more server. As with most fine dining prix fixe experiences, the price was probably a little higher than what you get in terms of portion size. Great place for a date night.

    Overpriced tasting menu with extremely poor service. Waiters overwhelmed, they didn't even know how to set up forks and knifes, they were not attentive, Maitre de salle was not pairing the wine with the dishes. I paid 110$ for the wine pairing and had no idea what I was served. Food was ok and dishes presentation was good. Venue (breakfast room with still tropicana dispenser apparent) is a turn off for a Chef created tasting menu for a Valentine date!

    Our first experience here 2 months ago was phenomenal with the 7 course tasting and wine pairing. Tonight was just awful. The bar tender was the only person that came to our table to greet us and get our drink order after sitting there for 20 mins. Then over an hour later before anyone came to our table to inquire what we were waiting on. By then I was over the evening and had to make valentines dinner plans elsewhere. This is totally unacceptable. Especially when reservations were made 3 weeks in advance. I regret all the posturing we did for this restaurant at first.

    Excellent 7 course menu. We all really enjoyed it and chef was able to substitue for shell fish allergy with wonderful options. Service was a 15 out of 10. Ambiance is a little IKEA feeling, cold , bland, and could use an upgrade to match the gourmet meal.

    Food and service were really good. I do think the portion, especially the steak could be larger but everything was delicious. Very personalized service. The host, Sabrina( the waitress) and even the chef were very polite and friendly. The location needs improvement. I have been to restaurants in hotel lobbies but in this case it took away the magical experience of the food, specially when there are very loud guests in the hotel lobby/bar, for the price tag more is deserving regarding ambience and privacy.

    The menus & food is nothing like you have had before. Combination of art & flavor. The only thing I would like to add to their menu is a few more options for guests who are not interested in trying the 5 or 7 course menus like their companions are and have them a few different appetizers or salads to choose from. Perfect for special occasions or business dinner to impress.

    The restaurant is in the hotel lobby. However, they have white table cloths and are trying hard to have a separation between the restaurant and the lobby. The food was wonderful - similar to what we find in a fine restaurant in Paris - and we love eating in Paris. The chef, waitress and matre d' were all lovely and welcoming but not intrusive. We did the 5 course tasting menu and wine parings. All interesting, unusual and well executed. A wonderful addition to the area and we look forward to eating here again soon!

    We went on a date and chose By Patrik Pettersson. The food was something else and you can’t find anything like it in Sarasota. Great personal/service and we got to chat with the chef himself. What an amazing date, and food experience. Sarasotas finest!

    Very accommodating staff thrust into a space that is not really conducive to fine dining; the space is more suited for breakfast meals highlighted by Cheerios and cold oat meal. Patrik is a talented chef and the food was delicious and plated artistically without going overboard. The wine pairing did justice to the seven-course tasting menu. It will be well worth going when the menu selections change as promised by Patrick in a three-month cycle.
