   Lovely place for a Sunday Brunch. The staff was friendly and professional.. from the valet to the waitstaff greetings were sincere and welcoming. Food choices were unique and creative. The benedict was great with a biscuit base, only issue was the poached egg was over, but they brought me extra hollandaise to make up for it! Chicken and Waffle was great. The George Salad was quite tasty... would be better in the spring when peaches are fresh. This was our first time at By George, and we will return for another occassion.

   Starting with the positives, our waiter James was excellent and very helpful when things began to go poorly. He came to the table semi-frequently and listened to our issues carefully. The setting of the restaurant was beautiful and a great spot for pictures. Unfortunately, that’s where the excellence ends. The ‘specials’ that were suggested all sounded delicious but when they arrived to the table it was a completely different story. The ‘steak’ was a brisket type meat that was way overcooked and extremely bland. The mash potatoes were not cooked properly. The portion sizes were unsatisfying. A family member ordered the ‘chicken breast’ and if was mostly bones. It’s repulsive that they would then charge us almost $600 for something that you would get at a sub par steakhouse for less than $100. We are appalled at such a low quality product for such a pristine looking and expensive establishment. We will never be back and we hope that you will not patronize such a disgrace of a 5 star restaurant.

   What a great restaurant in downtown Atlanta!! Loved the ambiance of the Historic Hotel Candler! Food was really good and it was our Anniversary what a nice surprise when they brought piece of cake to our table with Happy Anniversary on it! And best of all it was on the house!! Will definitely eat there again!

    Server Deonna was very good. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Drinks were excellent. We were a party of 7 celebrating birthdays. The desert was subpar. The mussels were great though. The ratio and quality of the food didn’t match the expense. We had the salmon which was ordered well done but arrive medium. Lamb was ok. Brussels sprouts were yummy and the filet mignon was very good. The shrimp and grits were good. It’s the portions that are a bit skimpy. That’s all

    Went right at closing after a long day of my son fencing at GT. We were late for our reservation which was last time slot of the day. They kept the kitchen open for us. Service was excellent. Food was good.

    Went with family for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The location is right downtown and the Candler Hotel is gorgeous inside. The service was prompt and friendly. We enjoyed the muffins, the steak, the side potatoes, the breakfast sausage, and the French toast the most.

    We took our Daughter who was visiting from California to our favorite restaurant, “By George”!! We love this restaurant and will be returning again and again. The valet’s are always so nice and go out of there way to make you feel welcome. We had Jovan this time and have had Him before. He’s the best. Jenny was our waitress and was superb. She took such good care of us. All of our food was more than delicious, except for broccolini (take that off the menu) and they changed it out for the special Brussels sprouts they do. OMG are they scrumptious!! I had Salmon with a delicious sauce and their special carrots are divine. My husband had lamp chops, mashed potatoes and asparagus. He ate every last but bite and said it was perfection. My daughter had a Scallops dish with sides I forget but she too ate every bite and said it was amazing. We never do this but we had desserts because we were celebrating our 33 Wedding Anniversary. I had Crème Brûlée, my husband had Red Velvet cake and my daughter had the flourless chocolate cake! We couldn’t stop ourselves from eating them all. Melt in your mouth desserts. I keep telling everyone if you haven’t been to By George’s you must going. The food and ambiance are out of this world and worth every dime. We will be back!!

    The service was mediocre at best. I had the lamb chop special which was 3 tiny lamb chops and warm purée potatoes for $30. My romaine salad was a small portion also for $15. My server was not very attentive and I actually had to get up to get her to cash my check out. I would definitely not recommend this place.

    I took clients to lunch and really enjoyed everything. Beautiful space and delicious food. THE best fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Also great salads and burgers.

    I took my family to brunch on Sunday. We were expecting to enjoy the brunch. First the creamer was spoiled, the grits were cold & lumpy, pancakes luke warm. I replaced my grits with potatoes they were very hot & tasty. My daughter enjoyed her food, she said her only issue was that French toast was just warm. We have a thing about food not being hot even if the taste isn’t what we expected. The manager addressed the concerns we were satisfied & the waitresses was awesome. I was a bit disappointed but sometimes things happen.

    The restaurant was great, food was amazing, and when you go definitely get the bread service because you won’t regret it. Server was very attentive, she came back multiple times to make sure we were fine and was really friendly. Safe to say I left a nice tip for it. I will be going back again soon.

    Great Valentines date. We went with the regular menu instead of the pre fix. Food was delicious. Mussels were amazing. Steak and the scallops were cooked perfect.

    The hostess was rude and very dismissive. My spouse and I went I. To make reservations before a concert, the restaurant and website were full availability’s and the restaurant was entirely empty yet were refused reservations and service. Trust I don’t need to spend my money were it’s not wanted. Although 8 reservations are made tonight which I’m sure are. No. Shows. Best of No luck to this raciest place

    I took my wife out to dinner at By George in the Candler Building in downtown Atlanta as an early Valentines Day celebration because it's rated #1 on TripAdvisor. This experience was a reminder that such ratings need to be viewed with some skepticism; By George is by no means the best restaurant in Atlanta! The food was good, but should be at those prices. The service was fair; frankly, I felt somewhat ignored and under appreciated. The ambiance was very nice; we really appreciated the historical ambiance of the Candler Building. Although the ambiance gets a demerit for slightly loud and more than slightly annoying "music." I understand that my musical taste is probably a bit old fashioned, but if I'm shelling out a couple hundred bucks on dinner (or more) don't my musical sensibilities matter at all? Just asking. In sum, By George is a nice restaurant in a cool historical building; but it's overrated and overpriced, and was not the gastronomic experience I'd hoped for.

    It was so loud host could not understand we were ready for table. Bar area was packed and noise echoed throught reataurant. We had to shout to hear at our table of four. Food is good and table service was efficient. But noise level is uncomfortable to say the least.

    The wait staff was overwhelmed. We were on time but seated 30 min late. Menus took 30 min to get, the wine list took 45 min. The wine was served 15 min after the entrées were served. For $45 the lamb was 3-small chops!

    The ambience was lovely, the cocktails were delicious, the service was very friendly and was very timely considering how busy it was when we were there. The food left a lot to be desired. Not terrible, but “charred” and “roasted” seemed inappropriate to describe the veggies; more like boiled. Steak was tender and enjoyable. Vegetarian pasta was bland. Apps were great. Will definitely be back. Cocktails and friendly faces, and definitely interested in going deeper into the menu.

    We actually ate here two nights in a row, so I will review both nights. For starters we had a shrimp cocktail and a Caeser salad. These were both excellent. The shrimp cocktail contained five large, chilled shrimp and cocktail sauce with just the right amount of heat. The Caesar salad dressing was perfect and there was lots of parmesan. For entrees I had the filet mignon. It was a very good cut, but definitely undercooked. It comes with nothing (no sides). I also had the rigatoni. It was tasty and quite meaty. My wife had lambchops. She received four chops cooked right. Next day she had the scallops. There were only three, but they were good, and she also liked the included vegetables. We tried different cocktails each night from their specialty menu. They were all good, but a bit pricey. The deserts were the weak spot. The first night I had the red velvet cake. It was more like a cheesecake than a red velvet cake. My wife had vanilla ice cream. It was so freezer burned that she had to send it back. The second night I wanted to try the chocolate cake, but they ran out of it. Our server on Sunday night was inexperienced and a mediocre server. On Monday night our server was just fine. The restaurant was quite noisy on Monday night. It was difficult to have a conversation.
