A very nice steak
We had a booking for 6.30 but had to wait almost half an hour before our order was taken and then another 20 minutes before any food arrived. I think we may have got lost in the system because they were very apologetic about the slow service and then gave us a complimentary cheese platter. The food was very tasty but the wine was way overpriced which took some of the edge off the evening. Staff were very friendly.
Food was fantastic, unfortunately we were dining next to a large group which was disappointing as it was an anniversary dinner for us. We had booked a table outside but luck not on our side and it had been raining (yes, I know in January in Perth!!)
Food was pretty ordinary - very oily and nothing special for the price. Expensive and didn't like a set menu for a Sunday. Such a lovely venue - food and service let it down. 😕
The meal and view was superb. Such a serene atmosphere and the staff were lovely.
Would definitely recommend and I have already done so.
Food was excellent.
Service was great and very personal.
The food was outstanding and the beer and wine were also outstanding. Portions were just right - not often I have room for desert - but on this occasion I did and it was worth it.
Great meeting spot for lunch with mates. Reasonable selection of steaks that were tasty and cooked correctly. Friendly service staff. Would definitely return
Highly recommend BWG was just lovely. Went with friends and really enjoyed the food/wine
The restaurant itself is beautiful, the view from the outdoor eating area is gorgeous and choice of wine really made the night. The service was great, each waiter/-attendant were very friendly/helpful and took time to make recommendations. The food did just not live up to expectations though which we find is so common around Perth compared to prices you pay and meal quality you get in Melbourne. Entree of chorizo and prawns were ok but T-bone was thin and pork belly dry.
Much improved from our last visit in terms of the food. Every dish was faultless. Generous serves and value for money considering the waterfront views and service. I was told that they had a new chef!!
$5a prawn ($20 entree) for giant smokey flavoured crisp Australian prawns is very good value. Best prawn dish I have eaten in years.
The pork ribs were delicious and tender. I prefer a bit more sauce...but I'm sure that if I'd asked that would have been provided.
We had a lovely evening outsde in the beautiful diing area. Good servce and delicious food. We will be back.
Difficult to recommend, although some nice touches, especially the view and staff who are friendly for the most part.
Food mediocre and over-priced. $17 for four skinny asparagus and half a slice of tomato! Calamari - miniscule portion and exorbitantly priced. Whiting fillets smothered in batter, chips soggy. Cappuccinos barely lukewarm, although extra hot requested.
Dessert was lovely though - thoughtful "happy birthday" message inscribed.Complained at payment, but staff not interested.
Good food and service. Lacking atmosphere and lighting due to the time of the year. Previous evening we,d dined at Bib a nd Tucker which ticked all the boxes
Great restaurant, have dined several times.
Fabulous views. Great service.
My wife and I were extremely grateful for the effort put in on our 3rd wedding anniversary. The staff were genuine in there best wishes and the food was presented at an amazing standard. I can't thank you enough for making this night so special to us, it means more than you know. I look forward to the next time we can dine with you.
spoiled by 1% charge for use of credit card - not very classy!
Alas it wasn't as special as last time I dined there. The service (from Megan) was friendly and efficient, however the food was mediocre - Wagyu Burger ordered by one diner under cooked, advertised onion rings missing, cheddar cheese looked like out of a packet of sandwich cheese - poor value. My pappadelle pasta luke warm.
Fantastic place for great food
We were welcomed by warm friendly staff as soon as we entered the restaurant. The service was prompt and accurate and at several stages during our meal we were asked if everything was ok or if there was anything else they could do for us. While there were breaks once we finished entree and waited for mains/etc we could have a lovely chat with staff about life in general.
The food splendid, the steak simple fell away at my knifes touch. Would recommend.
I took my partner here after just proposing to her, the restaurant made us feel special even and nice message on our dessert plate from the chef, very highly recommended the food was amazing also
Dry aged steak is one of the best in town!
Great views from the headland. Would be lovely on a summer's evening. Easy parking. Helpful staff
Right from the start ,got there early and had a beer and chat with the barman in front of the fire. When my partner arrive we sat close to the fire and enjoyed good service ,good food and very god company.
I had picked a great spot for a meal and night out
Very very average
View was beautiful, staff friendly unfortunately the hot buffet was cold. Did not advertise as buffet online.
Excellent night out last night.
The cocktails and food were exceptional. Combined with great service we will be back.
Lovely location, even on a grey lunchtime. Quieter than expected for a Friday. Steaks and accoutrements were disappointing. Entrées were good. Service was ok.
Wide range of food.
Something for everyone
The food was fantastic.
Looking around many tables only ordered mains then left;
Beware if you are a big eater things get expensive quickly.
Between the two of us we spent $260
Still a fabulous place to eat would definitely recommend, will be back again soon 😍
As it was my birthday we celebrated with our 8 family members. My family has dined here before and it was our first choice of venue. The steaks were very well presented and mine was cooked to perfection (rare!)
The fish selection was wonderful and the oysters to die for.
The only negatives were the prices of bottles of wine there could have been a few more WA wines at a more reasonable price of $30 a bottle. Also some gluten free options would be tecommended as I am gluten free by choice.
The food was simply exquisite. The best steak I have ever had. Ordered bernaise sauce yet hardly touched it as I did not want to spoil the taste. The Ink squid was also very light to eat. Starters too were superb, and the flavours wonderful.
Steaks are always done to perfection. This one of the few steak houses in Perth that actually hang their meat for a decent length of time, helping create the perfect meal.
We very excited to try the BWG as it is close to home, my son chose as his birthday. The location, the service and ambience were above expectations. The food was extremely disappointing. We looked at menu and booked online which was very easy and efficient. My son ordered the burger which was very ordinary as were the chips. My husband ordered the hotdog commenting expensive but not as good as the Elmars hot dog at Clontarf Mkts. I ordered the roast beef, veg(yorkshire pudding inedible).
Exceptional food and wine and exceptional service. Was not disappointed.
Excellent food and service. We will be back.
Only problem was I had to ask to turn the volume down of the techno "music".
A general complaint in most venues ,way too loud and inappropriate "music" to be able to have a conversation. Maybe i'm getting too old but it annoyed my much younger son as well!
Excellent all round
Felt very special from entering the premises, a lovely rustic feel, earthy and comfortable. Wait staff were attentive, not intrusive. Extensive menu, and all our meals were beautiful. Nice large table, easy to fit everything on tabletop. A very enjoyable dining experience for a winter birthday dinner! Thank you! Look forward to returning in the warmer months for an outside table overlooking the river.
We arrived early and had pre dinner drinks in the bar. We started our dining experience by sharing the Cesar Salad. It was the best one we'd ever had but a bit large for even 2 of us to share. Then we shared the Tuna & Salmon Sashimi & Tartar. It too was great. Having had 2 great starters we decided to have the smaller 125 gram fillets which were just the right size and were cooked to the medium rare level we asked for. Dessert, coffee and after diner drinks topped off the evening.
