Our waiter was running past us and barely stopped when we asked for his help. It didn’t seem like the restaurant was managed by anyone on the floor. The check was split but one card was charged twice. Thankfully we caught the mistake before leaving.

This was our first visit to Buttercup. The restaurant is beautiful and they also had a large outdoor area. The service was very attentive, and the food was fabulous. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be back.

Vibrant, appealing interior with attentive staff. When I expressed disappointment with my cocktail, I was offered another choice--amazing! Buttercup is a welcome addition to downtown Natick--it offers an urban, sophisticated ambiance with a creative menu.

Had a really lovely time with my friend at buttercup last night. The burrata with peaches and tomatoes was lovely, as were the fish tacos. Looking forward to going again!

Andrew’s service was wonderful! And very accommodating with special food requests. And the seasonal strawberry/apple tart was unreal!

The wait staff tried there best with the limited help they have. Portions are small, my chicken was undercooked, they gave me the wrong appetizer. By the time the right one was served my wife finished hers. It’s not the staffs issue this is from management . I don’t like writing poor reviews however we have had disappointing experiences several times before.

Very disappointed with the back inside table for two in the adjacent main area we were seated at - a busy area with people for take out and pass through for wait staff so very poor ambience - clearly added in for extra seating. Since it was Sat night - there was no room elsewhere. Had we known about the seating we would have reserved elsewhere. Also a more minor point but still disappointing : when I asked for bread for the table I was surprised to be told I would have to pay for a sour dough bread option. The price is not the point but not appropriate charge given the classy, high cost of items in the restaurant, in fact I can or recall ever been charged for bread anywhere else. The food was as usual very good and the service was not an issue either - overall I recommend the restaurant but beware of possible bad seating .

The host stand was a little congested, and it seemed like they might have taken more reservations than they had tables. Turns out it was staffing shortages, just like everywhere else these days, and they couldn’t clear the tables fast enough. But it all worked out and the waitstaff and kitchen staff did not disappoint. We had a great meal and enjoyed our evening. Would recommend and will happily come back again. Thank you.

You won't be disappointed in coming to Buttercup. IT is a wonderful food experience and has both indoor and outdoor seating. On a Friday night at 6pm it was full outside and almost full inside. After our great meal it was still hopping and that's a great sign.
The honey lavender corn bread is to die for!

Short ribs were "meh" but everything else was delicious. Go for foods that demonstrate sauce skills and anything home made.

Shared a few apps and one entree which was fun! Both of our cocktails were delicious and not too sweet. Enjoyed the beet salad, truffle fries, burratta special and fish tacos.

Lovely place - nice menu, full of local produce and seafood…the oysters w/mignonette and tuna poke were tasty apps (poke was a little heavy on the sesame oil for me but my husband loves it); scallops with fresh corn and sweet potato were perfectly prepared and delicious (tho I thought the ratio of corn to sweet potatoes purée would be opposite - there was a small amount of corn kernels; lots of SP). Halibut with greens and beans also delicious. Good martinis. Good service. Nice patio seating out front; Love that you can reserve outdoor seating. A great special occasion/date night place.

Food was great! Appetizer selections are unique and absolutely delicious. I had the halibut and it was very tasty - I was hesitant because of the fennel but it was not overpowering. My friend had the scallops and loved them. Yes we were bad and had desert. The key lime pie was the best I have had in a long time. Our waiter gave great recommendations. I will return soon!!!

The restaurant was nice-it was a rainy night. The descriptions of the apps and meals sounded better than what we actually got. Written and described creatively but not in taste.
All in all, it was a decent place that we may try again.

Food was superb. The cocktails and wine were excellent. Service at the table was very good. The only glitch was that we were originally seated right next to another couple when there were many other empty tables. We thought this was strange given today’s emphasis on social distancing. We asked for another table and they balked at first but then gave us a table in the lounge area (which was fine with us). They told us the table assignment was based on reservations but there were still empty tables in the dining room when we left so that argument really didn’t hold up. That aside we would go back for the food. It is expensive, however.

Ate outside on a beautiful August night. The food is tasty, not extraordinary.

Service was excellent, and very attentive. The milk jugs are cool for pouring water, but water wasn’t cold, so ice was requested and brought multiple times.

Corn muffins with lavender and I think sage were delicious. I had the tuna poke which was excellent, the peach burrata salad just felt like everything was under ripe. Mussels in garlic/wine appetizer was amazing, but crab cakes were tasteless. The mains of chicken and short ribs were eaten by the non-fish fans. Both those are the only mains that aren’t either vegetarian or fish. This restaurant will not be a big hit for those who want a slab of meat.

Key lime pie was good.

Bill for 5 was $275 - 3 of us had 2 appetizers each, plus 2 mains for the other 2, a total of 6 bar drinks and a couple of coffees and a single dessert.

Nice experience.

I was excited to take my husband here, since I’ve eaten here before. The waiter was great, super friendly and energetic. But the food was OK. The shrimp ceviche was not a ceviche at all. It was just cooked shrimp that have been cut up tossed with unripened mango with a side of saltine crackers. The tuna tartare was drenched in soy sauce and served in a bowl unlike the picture on their web site layered with avocado and crisp chips. The tomato , peach burrata Must’ve been prepared ahead of time and refrigerator because it was so cold it was uncomfortable to eat. On a good note, The fish tacos were delicious and the zucchini flowers were exceptional.

It was a hot night with the chance of storms. We reserved outside, but the staff was most accommodating and set a table for us in the bar. Couldn’t have been nicer. Oh, and the food was great. Special requests, no problem. Great night for 4 friends. Thank you !
