    The foie gras with fig marmalade, pickled fennel, and onion-herb mini salad was fantastic (a starter). It was loaded with interesting flavors. Everyone in our party liked their entries, and the presentation was carefully though out. Each plate was beautifully arranged. Also, the service was great, very attentive but not too present. One small criticism, the pour for a $14 glass of wine was what could only be described as less than generous, leaning towards miserly. A nice wine list. The live piano music was not too loud, and provided just the right ambiance.

    We went for our anniversary, for fine dining The food was wonderful, good selection of wine and cocktails. Noise level was low conversational. Beautiful sound system- I thought they might have a live piano player! The service was exceptional. Great experience overall. Definitely recommend!

    We always enjoying our dining experiences at Butch's. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. They were mindful that we had 2 young children with us and were able to have our meals arrive in a timely manner. One of our favorites!

    Fantastic evening. Was in town for our sons performance in Adams Family with Hope College. Had a beautiful table, lovely staff for every part of the meal. Beyond grateful for the kind and lovely experience start to finishing with a great cup of coffee. Thank you

    We enjoyed a spur-of-the-moment weeknight dinner at Butch’s. While the front dining space is lovely and we often choose to sit there, this impromptu early dinner was just perfect in the pub’s warm and casual space. However the chef prepares the frites, they are the best ever - hot and crunchy outside and creamy inside. Served in the European style with an aioli for dipping, they are a favorite indulgence. With a wonderful bottle of wine, tasty main dish salads and excellent service, we thoroughly enjoyed our night out.

    Outstanding restaurant and a definitely should be top of your list when visiting Holland. Lovely design and ambience. Food is incredible. And the service is top flight! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and will return next time in Holland. Only regret is we don't live closer to go more often! We've had the good fortune to dine at some excellent restaurants all over the world and Butch's Dry Dock is in that upper echelon!

    We eat at Butch's every time we're in Holland because of the quality of the food, convenient location, and an ambiance that is both refined and relaxed. This visit was no different, except that our server, while professional, was not friendly or engaging. Every time she checked on us, it seemed as though she would turn to leave before we had gotten the last words out. It happened every time, which is what made us notice. She made small talk with the table next to us about a bottle of wine they bought, so it's not as though she treated all customers like us. We will return to Butch's because of all of our past experiences being positive and chalk this dinner up to being a one-off.

    Everything tasted good. However paying about 30 dollars for a piece of chicken that is slapped on top of a plate of completely raw spinach and a slice of raw tomato on the side is ridiculous. The vegetable mezze appetizer again tasted good but not much on the plate for what you pay. Service was lack luster.

    The meat was significantly under cooked. One of us ate while the other waited for her food to be cooked properly. Nothing was offered ….. appetizer, no dessert, no discount…….just slow service. I really like the atmosphere and the food is typically very good. The service is almost always mediocre.

    After making a 725 reservation we finally got seated at 750 after asking multiple times about the wait. After we got seated we ordered the octopus salad and 2 drinks. This arrived at your table an HOUR after we ordered it. Once the mains came they were good and hearty but not worth the 1.5 wait. We were very disappointed thst the waitress did not comp anything after how bad a night it was.

    We were visiting for Hope Homecoming and took our daughter and her roommate out for dinner. They both have significant dietary restrictions, including one with Celiac disease. Our server did a wonderful job of suggesting modifications to the entree options that the girls were very happy with. We all had a wonderful experience and enjoyed the meal! Thank you!

    We’ve been wanting to try Butch’s Dry Dock for several years and were happy to get a reservation during Hope College’s family weekend. The food was excellent, wine was perfect, and our daughter even had a delicious mock-tail. It was a wonderful dinner for the three of us and we will definitely be back!

    Butch's Dry Dock is first class all the way. From the time you enter the staff makes your dinner memorable. Friendly and informative would be a way to describe the stall. Cocktails were great. Butch's has a wonderfull wine list. Food was very well prepared. A trip to Butch's is definitely a dining experience..

    The service was bad. The waitress was borderline rude. The food was a bit overpriced and the menu somewhat limited. The salmon salad was delicious as was the cheesecake dessert. The steak was pretty underrated. Overall was just ok.

    Food was extremely bland, like they didn’t even have salt and pepper back in the kitchen. This was disappointing because the composition of the dishes was really nice and well-presented, but fell short on flavor. The dishes also came out lukewarm, and portion size for the price point was bottom-tier compared to other restaurants in the area. Service was very transactional. Ambiance and setting was very pleasant, which makes the shortfalls in the other areas all the more disappointing. Unfortunately won’t be returning for dinner, but maybe for a glass of wine some time.

    They first tried to sit us in the ack of a half empty dining room. The steak was supposed to be served with a sauce and there was maybe a teaspoons worth. The food was cold. The waitress made us feel as though we were inconveniencing her. The ambiance was delightful. I have no desire to go back. I worked in fine dining when I was in culinary school and this place really missed the mark.

    Terrific service and dishes! My friend and I split a couple appetizers and an entrée and our server was kind, fun and accommodating. We also had a great value of wine from France. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area for a comfortable yet festive meal. Cool wines are available to go and great vibes abound!

    Butch's Dry Dock is one of our favorite go to places to entertain guests and special occasions. Angela, the bartender makes the best Cosmopolitans! The food is always good and love being able to take a walk around Downtown Holland and then go to dinner. It's great!

    Highly recommend the Chicken Parmigiana and the Spaghetti with shrimp. Also, the music was exceptional - elegant, smooth and easy long time classics - piano only- pleasant, happy, calming, easy to talk, no thumping base during dinner, music - not noise. Whoever selected the music needs to be appreciated as the tone of the music matches the elegant setting of the restaurant and the quality of the food and food choices and service. The next section (select all that apply) has really insufficient choices. These words do apply: Reliably excellent food, interesting food, attention to details, great value, elegant setting, white table cloths and flowers. Butches is currently dinner only but oh, what a dinner it is.

    As usual, completely enjoyed our dinner at Butch's. The cauliflower appetizer is delicious, and we shared the parmesan chicken and a burger--for variety. Cocktails and wine were also directly on point: just what we wanted!
