Booked this pub for Father’s Day. Table was located indoors, despite mentioning in the booking that we had children so intended to use the outdoor play area. Food order was taken promptly and drinks served but the staff appeared to always be in a rush. We ordered roast dinners with a side of cauliflower cheese. This side was miniature with tiny florets - the serving of mayonnaise was comparable in size. The meal was served and the waitress again was rushing, quickly asked for anything we needed before speeding off. I hadn’t even had a chance to look around the table to check drinks and so then had to stand at the bar to get drinks whilst my dinner was getting cold. The meal size was good but several of the items were overcooked - stuffing was rock solid and impenetrable with a knife! After our meal we asked for the pudding menu only to be told by the waitress, rather bluntly, that the kitchen was closed, but no-one thought to mention this to us whilst we were eating. The bar man was very apologetic and said that they would look at top-up training for the waitresses but all in all, this wasn’t a great experience.

We had the steak and ale pie and a double burger. Both eals were freshly cooked and were very nice. Service was efficient and friendly.

Parking was easy. we were 30 minutes early and our table was already ready. The food was better than describesd on the menu and we felt it was amazing quality for the price. The Bar team were friendly and there certainly is a family welcome atmosphere. Also delicious beer selection. We will be back.

A warm welcome; good food and wine, reasonably priced; excellent ale served in a dimpled pint tankard. The Butchers Arms is everything a pub should be.

Lovely friendly village pub. We all chose different options from the menu and everyone was very happy with their meal. All food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Add to that the staff are super helpful and make sure that you have everything that you need. We ended up staying all night for drinks and the variety on offer is very good with something for everyone ( the cocktail jugs and shots went down very well ) All in all 10/10 all round
