Absolutely delicious & a fun, delightful, charming atmosphere! The chef can make the dishes to order if you have any food intolerances (I ate the Bronzino & steak tartare & my husband ate the burger) . Our waiter was very helpful and very friendly. I would eat here again!

When you first go into the restaurant, the wall of whiskey is a sight to behold. We were seated promptly and even early. Our reservations were for 745 and we were told or table was ready at 730. The wait staff was polite and they really were unobtrusive. If we needed anything they were there but we appreciated they didn't stick around to make things awkward. Our table overlooked the antler chandelier and we loved the quirky there of the restaurant. Only wished the table was slightly bigger as things got crowded with a pitcher of water, 2 glasses, 2 drink orders, and food. We ordered the pig candy and bone marrow. The pig candy was good but the standout was the marrow. It was amazing!!! My boyfriend had the scallops and I had the duck pasta. Both were good. We wished there was more blue crab risotto but the scallops were large and had a nice sear. The pasta was OK but I think next time I will try the shepards pie. For dessert we had the smores. It was a great end top the meal. We had fun trying the whiskey flight as both of us are not big whiskey buffs but it says interesting to try them and note the distinctive differences. We most definitely will be back.

Took in laws to Butcher and the Rye. Food was outstanding and delicious. Service was excellent and atmosphere was great. We were seated at a cosy little table with mismatched chairs tucked into a corner, it was perfect.

Delicious cocktails, creative cuisine ,attentive service. Tables for 2 could be bigger :) but overall the type of restaurant that could hold its own in Manhattan or anywhere else.

Visited on a weeknight with a reservation. Our table was very tight and it was uncomfortable for the couples on either side to be in such tight quarters. Service was wonderful and our waitress was very helpful with suggestions. We ordered three small plates and an entree to share. Everything, including cocktails and dessert were solid. I would say it is worth the price point, but certainly a special occasion spot.

This is the kind of place that makes Pittsburgh's restaurant scene so interesting. For less than half the price of a wasted night at Ruth's Chris, you get a fantastic atmosphere and your choice of many intriguing entrées. That said, this place is clearly over-hyped but that's no reason not to check it out.

We had a party of 4 ladies and loved our dinners. The service was excellent and our server was very helpful in regards to both food and drinks. The menu is very unique / non-traditional...which I think is wonderful! The focus is more on "meats", but I had scallops and they were fabulous. The decor is also quite unique. The restaurant is in the heart of the cultural district - very easy to get dinner and walk to any of the theaters downtown.
