Great food, service and staff. My favorite place in Minneapolis
Our server, Mike, was outstanding. Ladies night and a concert... great service and food and cocktails!! As always
Birthday dinner. Excellent food. Very accommodating staff. Nice evening.
Took a girl here for a special occasion date. The booking process was very convenient as you can see what times are available online. We had a short wait for our reservation when we got there but the bar was open and we got drinks at the recommendation of the bartenders. They were delicious! My date wanted something slightly sweet and got the Bohemian which was just right. I got a good craft beer, of which there were many.
We sat down at a half-booth. The restaurant was very busy and a little loud. The seating arrangements make it so you are close to the groups next to you. The noise and atmosphere wasn't too bad though, we actually found it energizing! The food itself was very good. I got two sausage dishes, the wild boar hotlink and the pork and cheddar. The latter was memorably good! My date got the market seafood--a chilean sea bass which she enjoyed.
Service as quick and friendly.
We had a great time overall, although the prices make it so that we won't be there as regulars.
Food is excellent, (meat) portions are huge, highly recommend ordering one entrée with a few sides and sharing everything. Brussels sprouts are spicy and delicious, homemade sausages are another must try. Smoked Beef Long Rib is probably the best thing on the menu. I have gone back multiple times just for this menu item. Plenty of good drink options
Corn bread is just OK. Nothing special.
Ambiance is kind of noisy and tables are close to each other so don't expect this to be a quiet dinner. Place is almost always packed, went on a Tuesday night and every table was full. Recommend making reservations or if you have a small group (2-3 people) you can wait and try to get a bar spot... just be prepared to hang around for a while.
The Butcher and Boar is the best restaurant in Minneapolis and my favorite anywhere. Great once again for both service and food. My client had a great time.
Overall my experience has been good at the restaurant. The hostess wasn't friendly the night my mom's birthday was celebrated over seating arrangements on my reserved table that was given away. Other than that I have no complaints.
Excellent. We had the king crab and filet. Both were done superbly.
Ryan provided excellent service and good recommendations so we could order a variety of dishes and get many tastes. Enjoyed the sausage sampler & long bone a lot. They were kind to split the wedge salad without being asked and it was fresh and crisp. Starting with the unusual peanut butter stuffed jalapeños was tasty and not too filling. A good place to try many dishes, so go with at least a party of 4.
The food was awesome. The dining area was far TOO LOUD. If you love great food but don't mind shouting across the table to be heard over the other guests and the music, then go for it.
The food was excellent. Peanut butter stuffed jalapenos were awesome. Everything was hot and delicious! I will definitely be back.
B&B was amazing. Food and service were outstanding.
Excellent food and fun ambiance. Went to celebrate a birthday and had a fabulous time.
Excellent again! This is our 4th time and it never disappoints.
Excellent dining. Always top notch. Long rib is a very unique and amazing menu option.
It’s bustling busy place so plan accordingly. Can get loud.
Excellent food. The Beef Ribs were awesome and huge. Meat was extremely tender (falling off the bone), and very tasteful with a hint of Tobasco. Wow!!! Other dishes looked awesome as well. Expect to pay on the higher end, but value was worth it. Pretty busy on a Tuesday night.
Delicious food. A bit pricy - two entrees and sides cost nearly 200.
Fantastic food! The special 21-day dry aged bone in sirloin is a true marvel for any foodie.
We went to Butcher and the Boar to celebrate a family birthday. Everything about our visit was great! Our server was knowledgeable and prompt. The food was bountiful and delicious! One of our favorite places!
The food was great and so was the service! It's the kind of place you can go and have a quick bite or hangout for hours! I honestly can't wait to go back.
One of the best meals I've ever had. Consider me a raving fan - the experience could not have been better.
Our server was wonderful for the most part. The hosts are continually a pain to deal with, which is unfortunate especially since they are so easy to replace. It was also disappointing that no one asked how our food was and/or noticed the crab salad went essentially untouched as it was more mayo? than crab or salad. Everything else was just wonderful, though.
Loved it. Going back. Not really a place for little kids. We went for a date night. Sausage sampler blew our minds.
The food was amazing but the music was so loud we could not hear each other. When we asked if they could seat us somewhere quieter they said “no.” We did not stay for desert.
Excellent food, service and drinks. Although you pay for it. It was excellent.
Food and drink was great. You couldn't hear yourself think and this was on a Tuesday night.
The offerings here are very unique, and every dish was a delicious blend of flavors. The peanut butter-filled jalapeños and the red hot Brussels sprouts are excellent. Gina did a great job of taking care of us and made excellent recommendations.
Great food with a southern twist. Drink menu was exciting! Better price than some of the other mpls restaurants
4 of us came in Sunday night and were seated earlier than our reservation which was a nice treat. Waitress didn’t come over for a while which was a little disappointing. Ordered French 75’s which were delicious as usual. Appetizers ordered were the mushrooms, potatoes, and sausage. All were delicious. Entrees 2 filet medium rare, a New York medium well and a New York medium rare. The New York’s were both over cooked and salty. Would have sent back early but waitress never came by to check on us. The 2 diners that ordered the New York’s were extremely disappointed. Talked to a manager and they paid for our 3 appetizers for a total of $27 vs cost of $116 for the New York steaks. Well I was happy with my meal my colleagues were not. They will not be returning on subsequent trips to Minneapolis.
My colleagues appreciated the unique menu and loved the food.
When we first arrived there (just a few mins before the doors opened) the ladies working there purposely made us wait longer in the bitter cold and a man waiting with us had to jiggle the doors very loudly before they would even open the doors on time at 5:00.
We were seated right in front of the kitchen and we were the first people there. It would have been really nice to be seated elsewhere. It was loud and we felt watched by the cooks and servers since there were a lot of them just standing around.
Very High priced menu and no lower priced entrees. Not a restaurant for families! $$
excellent, a five starts. But it is loud, too loud, even the waitress complained about the noise
Food was fantastic. Waited over 45 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. People that arrived after us were seated long before we were.
We were greeted very warmly and escorted to the beer garden for our Happy Hour. Great waitress! We moved inside for dinner. The place is very loud; the waitstaff was great! Very helpful in detailed descriptions of the food and best choices. We had the Giant Pork Chop. Enough meat for a family of 4! Tasty. I had the halibut which was excellent. My only complaint/complement is the portion size. A lot of waste! Also a fun place but very noisy. The bars are also great.
The charcuterie platter, brussel sprouts, and Parmesan cheese cake we incredible. The steak could have used more salt and was slightly too charred for my taste, which kind of stinks because it was so expensive to not be done perfectly. We asked for it medium and it was tender and cooked perfectly to what we asked.
My only complaint is the small tables are awkwardly close to each other. It was noisy enough so that you didn't totally feel like you we dining with the people next to you. The awkward part is if the people next to you are cuddling and having private moments on their date when the tables are so close.
Great going away meal for a friend of mine
This place is everything as advertised! Pricey, but worth it. Hopefully, they don't get greedy and overprice themselves. I will definitely be back.
Bar tender was a dick! Absolutly love this place. Maybe the bartender had a bad day. However he was a dick. Just had to say.
Great food, huge portions, wonderful service. We will definitely be back!
As usual the food was outstanding, however this is the first time I would say the service was only okay. The restaurant was very busy for a Sunday night but having to wait 30 minutes after being seated to get a drink was a little disappointing. Our server was friendly and helpful but seemed to have too many tables to deal with. I still give the restaurant high marks and will definitely be back again.
