Absolutely awesome!! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding.
First time in Minneapolis and this restaurant was amazing. Service was great and everyone was amazing.
Absolutely great service with amazing drinks and good food.
Overpriced for what it is. The NY Strip was honestly not good. Cutting into it took a lot of physical effort and it had very little flavor other than the excessively spicy topping that was on it.
The restaurant was so loud I was thrown off, you have to lean across the table and yell at each other. The tables are inches apart from one another, with fine cuisine type spots I like to have my room and be able to talk. I basically had to guess what was being said by the server. The steak I ordered was cooked nicely but the flavors were so aggressively spicy it was kind of a waste. I only took a few bites of the macaroni. I tried some of the sausage and that was good. On google the description says romantic, maybe without the music and the cramped quarters. I would have mentioned this but it was just so loud and uncomfortable I just wanted to rush though the dinner and get out of there.
Place was super loud.
Had a wonderful meal which consisted of two sausage appetizers the Green Chorizo and Pork and Cheddar and side dishes to includes the Truffled Trumpet Royale Mushrooms and Roasted Beet Salad. All were outstanding. We sat at the bar and had great service and a nice draft beer and red wine.
Everything was perfect! I would recommend the filet mignon and the creole shrimp Mac & cheese
Excellent menu and the service was fantastic! A little noisy at the start around 8pm but it got quiet as you would expect. The food was served very timely also and all servers were very gracious and friendly.
I have eaten here on several occasions, mostly for business and once for an anniversary. The food and service has always been excellent. They are know for their meat dishes, yet I had the scallops and they were excellent.
Host, brought us to a small table in the middle of the main dinner room. The noise was extremely loud, so we could not hear each other talk. The acoustics are terrible in the main room. We asked the server to move, and they gladly obliged. They moved us to the lounge area, better. Our waitress was amazing, the drinks excellent, and food, terrific! If you want to hear yourself think and to hear your dinner partners. Don’t dine in main dining room.
This place is so good! Never disappointed
This is our go-to restaurant every year for our anniversary. My wife and I love the food and the service, and the overall feel of the restaurant. For a special meal when you don't mind spending a little extra for excellent food and unique menu offerings, this is the place to go.
We were at Butcher & the Boar to celebrate a birthday. The appetizer and entrees were all delicious. Unfortunately, our server was slow and borderline rude. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before our server came by for the initial greeting and drink order. The greeting was literally her asking what we wanted for drinks - no general greeting that one typically receives at a restaurant. Prior to coming to our table, the server had greeted (with the full welcome and specials presentation) a table that arrived 10 minutes after us. It took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Once we ordered, the server seemed to decide we were worth her time as she stopped by frequently during the remainder of meal. I would not say she was friendly but at least more attentive at the latter part of our dining experience.
Overall, the restaurant is worth going to for the food alone. Expect to be squeezed into a small, loud space and have mediocre service.
Was looking for a place to celebrate a birthday and Butcher and the Boar was my first choice! They didn’t let me down. Great food and drinks as always.
The service and atmostphere were execellent. The food was amazing. I found the restaurant to be very expensive, overpriced.
We had a great dinner here! We enjoyed our server and he was keen to us being on a date and recommended a great spot for after dinner drinks. The food was amazing and creative and we would definitely return!
Excellent food and great service!
I will start by saying that food was delicious. Everything you would expect from a high end restaurant. After that, things go downhill a little.
When I made my reservation, I let them know it was my wife's birthday and would like a quite booth. What we got was a cramped table in the center of the room, sitting 12" from the next table. The acoustics are such that I had to lean forward to speak with my wife. Very loud.
If you don't have the kind of table I am looking for, why don't you tell me? If you are unable to really reserve the type of table I want, get a better system.
The food is a little over priced but very good. The staff, when we went, were standoff-ish bordering on rude. No manager ever stopped by to ask us about our evening and we were ignored on our way out. If you are going to charge premium prices, I would expect premium service.
Very disappointed, will most likely not return.
Had tender ribeye deliciously paired with bourbon. Orange cake desert was perfect palette finish.
Seemed a tad pricey, good not great food, ok overall experience
The first thing I was struck by was the service at Butcher & the Boar. From the hostesss to the gentleman that filled our water to the waiter, the service was outstanding: genuinely friendly, helpful, and professional. The food was excellent with beautiful presentations and hardy portions. We shared 6 small plates rather than an appetizer and they were all tasty. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the pork and cheddar sausage.
Overpriced and overhyped. Because it has been so much talked about, we had to check it out. Unlikely to return.
This is a wonderful place to meet over meat plates and met out meticulous metrics on how good the food is!
In Minneapolis? Come hither and be satisfied!
This place was awesome. Our waiter was amazing. He recommended things that we may want to try as first timers. He was correct. They made amazing drinks and if you're a whiskey/bourbon/scotch kind of person...this is your place in the Twin cities. Entrees are HUGE too. You'll see the price for some of the stuff but you'll be able to split it with your significant other and still feel satisfied. Ive been waiting to try this place for a long time and finally got the opportunity and was NOT disappointed. I am excited to see what its like outside in the summer there. I'll be going back.
If you want to have fun and impress in MN this is the place to go. If you can be happy here, you need to adjust your meds. Suit and tie/ business casual sit down, casual outside beer garden for the weekly meet up
The food was amazing as always!
Mike was seriously the best waiter I've ever had, made this experience great.
Food was good. We went for our anniversary. Not a quiet spot. Liked the upscale casual atmosphere. Food was spicier than expected. Dessert was a disappointment, not what we expected especially for $9!
Our server was great! Very friendly and helpful with the menu options and wine suggestions.
We went on Wednesday night and wife said it felt very corporate and manly.
Still had a good meal, but would choose somewhere else for an anniversary dinner where it is a bit quieter.
The food was interesting and superbly prepared. We especially enjoyed the peanut butter stuffed jalepenos and the long rib.
Great place great food. I would call it Manny for a younger generation. I will be back.
Fabulous food, great service.
Service was excellent! Food was excellent and plentiful.
The menu was incredibly unique with a fair variety of options. Obviously they specialize in pork. I had the blood sausage which was my first time eating blood sausage. Once I got over the texture, the flavor was amazing. The rest of the group had the pork chop and raved about it as well. Our group shared some sides and tried the peanut butter filled jalapeños to start, which were the highlight of the meal. I would go back for those alone.
Good dinner and great food
Amazing time like usual 👍🏽
First time visit. Had heard good things and B&B delivered. Started out in beer garden and then headed inside for early reservation. Great cocktails, probably had one too many. Then had some pickled tasters (cheap and tasty). Split the lobster salad to start as well. OMG good. Gal had the sea bass which was perfect. I had the bbq rib which was more than I should have eaten, was moist and tasty. Stuffed, could have easily saved half for later because the portions are big. Service was very good, above average. Parking is kinda wonky. Valet was $15 but we parked a couple blocks NE on Hennepin at a surface lot for $5.
Food was outstanding. Everything was top notch
Business dinner, sat at a small 2 top in the lounge area. Appetizers were great, but half way through entrees came and had to send back...dinner was rushed. I had the 21 dry aged NY and it was tough....
Steaks and sausages were flavorful. Sea bass special was flavorless. Not worth the money at all.
