We are fine-casual dining with a fire at the core of its heart. Through the smoke and whiskey ashes of the previous iteration which closed its doors in 2020 rises a new haze of smoke and whiskey as we bring back this iconic brand, smoked meats, bourbon, beer, deep hues, and various spaces to a new location in the North Loop. Butcher & The Boar will honor its beloved roots, while spreading new ones in the fresh foundation that will help our guests embark on a journey with notes of nostalgia that carry the torch forward with new tastes and experiences.

    Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis is going to play host to America’s longest dinner table as we celebrate our city’s fantastic food, beverage, and hospitality. On Thursday, September 11 at 5:30 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to dine at a table stretching seven blocks on Nicollet Mall. -------- Choose to dine at the Butcher & The Boar table and enjoy our feast in community with over 40 restaurants and food trucks. Butcher is serving our menu family style in community with those in your party and your neighbors at the table: -------- To Start - Chilled Cucumber Salad with pickled onion, tomatoes, mint, & dill -------- The Main Attraction - Smoked Beef Long Rib with tortilla slaw & tabasco-molasses glaze -------- Finale -Hummingbird Cake with cream cheese frosting, smoked pecans, & pineapple syrup -------- $115 per person includes tax and gratuity.     Fantastic food and cocktails! We sat at the bar and ordered from the full menu. The steak salad, charred chicken, sausage sampler, and red hot brussels sprouts. Everything was a 10 out of 10. The bartender was also our server and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back.

    For $45 per person this buffet was an embarrassment. A limited number of offerings, a make your own waffle station (were we at a motel?), and just overall meh quality. I’ve had great meals here and this was abysmal. Service was really subpar. Do better B&B.

    We had a fantastic time at the butcher and boar. We went for a bourbon tasting and appetizers for my wife’s birthday. Our server, Ben K was excellent, friendly and attentive without being overbearing or pushy. He responded to our needs and we had a fantastic time trying excellent bourbons from the extensive list and snacking on the really tasty shareables. We are excited to come back for a full dinner!

    I never write reviews but I really think this one is important to note. Butcher and Boar is one of my favorite restaurants and where I first met my husband over 10 years ago so it has a lot of nostalgia. Since the new ownership and new location, sadly the experience has gone downhill tremendously. We’ve only been back twice. The first time they ran out of the long rib because The server took over a half hour to greet us and give us water and there was a mandatory 20% tip. We then went back for Father’s Day brunch this past Sunday. The buffet was less than 50% stocked at all times. I ordered an omelette and after an hour of waiting for the omelette, we had to get going, so I left without eating anything at all. I would not recommend this restaurant for dinner or brunch based on both of my experiences.

    The food is just as amazing at this new location as it was at the original, but $87 for the short rib with no sides is pretty pricey. By the time we were done, it was $150 per person.

    If you're considering eating here the only answer is "YES!" My husband and I were in town visiting from DC and this was our first restaurant stop in Minneapolis and we loved everything! Not only is the ambiance and food top-notch, the service was premiere. Our waitress Naseem really made our night so wonderful. She gave us a comprehensive run down of the menu and then helped us hone on the selections that would suit us best--and boy, was she spot on! We loved every bite of every item we ordered. I don't know when we'll be back in MN but whenever we are, we will definitely be eating here.
