   Great Lincoln Park Steakhouse with speakeasy vibe. The steak and service was outstanding. The Onyx Ribeye was incredible, highly recommend the Octopus appetizer as well.

   Food was excellent, service was attentive. As a table for two, we were seated in a small table in a back corner. Would have liked a bit bigger table, but no other complaint, other than a very loud group on the other side of the room.

   This was one of my moments I followed my instincts and it really paid off. My guest were overly impressed with the environment and the food. From starters through deserts- just fantastic. We had one yr old with us who truly enjoyed the the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. This is a great place to eat and enjoy friends and family. The server was knowledgeable about every dish and drinks were nice. Make reservations you won’t be disappointed. BRAVO! HATS OFF TO THE CHEF & SERVER!

   Overall great experience. The Palomas were well made and refreshing. The meatball was moist and flavorful. Didn’t care for the crispy anchovies in place of croutons for the caesar salad… The Salmon was very good and a beautiful presentation. Our lamb chops were a bit over temperature but still flavorful and delicious. But the show stopper was definitely the biscoff cheescake-it was amazing and literally melted in your mouth!

   Very disappointing. Cesar salad tasted like a warm anchovy patty. Over dresses, warm lettuce. Saw our server twice. Once to take our order and the other time to bring the bill. Steak cold. Unfortunately won’t be coming back.

   Asked for medium rare. Got medium well instead. Other than that, food is great. Will definitely come back

   From start to finish, everything we had was absolutely delicious. The focaccia bread was the perfect beginning—fresh out of the oven, with a crisp exterior and fluffy inside, served with whipped butter and a tallow candle that added a rich, savory touch. The garlic herb mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery, and packed with flavor—honestly some of the best mashed potatoes I’ve had in a long time. They paired beautifully with the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection. Tender, juicy, and seasoned just right—it truly melted in my mouth. The ambiance was cozy and stylish, the service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole evening felt special. I can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu.    Great ambience and even better food and drinks! The steak was some of the best I have had in the city, and I have been to a lot of the popular steakhouses in the city. Definitely will be coming back!

    We had a great time at Butcher and the Bear. Stylish and cozy ambiance, good food and a nice bar to have just one more drink after diner before gong home.
