Butcher & Bee - Charleston

Nice people run the place and they were very attentive and eager to please me as I sat at the bar and ate my meal. One of the cooks, a nice shvartzuh, gave me a tasty little brisket lagniappe. I found the halibut was really fresh and delicious and I liked the Israeli nan. The desert, some kind of berry and cream mishmash, was almost too much to finish. The place isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Great server, nice variety - enjoyed very much. Portion sizes for restaurant week were a bit small.
Love the atmosphere. Appreciated their unique approach to restaurant week. Ordered Chef's selection and was not disappointed. Wonderful food. Great value.
This was the second location of Butcher & Bee that I’ve been to (I also went to the Nashville location), and in terms of quality, service, food, and ambiance, I prefer the Charleston location way more. The food is exactly the same in taste and quality but the patio out front sells the CHS location. We went out of our way to get brunch here and were definitely not disappointed. Highlights include the whipped feta and pita (which is always a MUST order) and the breakfast sandwich with added avocado and bacon.
The food was absolutely incredible!
As always I loved the food, the experience and the staff!
This place is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely outstanding- everything we ordered was delicious! The whipped feta, brussel sprouts and bacon wrapped dates were our favorites. It’s such a cute place and the service was impeccable, but the food stole the show. We were too stuffed to try the desserts, but will make a trip back just to try them!
Mediterranean influenced menu and the service was outstanding. Abbreviated menu but even my picky eaters found something- and they loved everything! Hidden gem!
Great food, I love the GF options, Healthy, flavorful & filling. The bacon wrapped figs & Grouper special were fantastic.
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. Loved that it was located outside the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Service and food were excellent!
Great food and service, but no ambiance.
Seating was uncomfortable
First time visit. Food we ordered was great -- menu a little limited perhaps. We were seated at a small table very close to another -- conversation a little difficult.
The mezze and the service are always amazing! I always walk out feeling satisfied and full but not over-stuffed. It is one of my top five favorite spots in Charleston.
Very innovative food and excellent service!
Great food and service
Whipped feta and the kabobs were amazing
The hummus and fish were good. The remainder of the menu did not appeal to me unfortunately.
This is not IHOP. Brunch is quite unique and delicious suited to the mediterranean region with wonderful choices for breakfast/brunch. Definitely get the pastry platter (all delish). Enjoyed the egg sandwich and the french toast was very good. Great way to head out of charleston and get on to I26 if you are driving out.
Unique good food. Enjoyed our first stop in Charleston very much!
Interesting & delicious food plus a unique variety of cocktails, wine & beers! We will definitely go back!!
Will was the best server we’ve had in Charleston! Food was delicious.
Delicious food, great service and casual/modern environment.
Currently our favorite restaurant in Charleston. Exceptional deliciousness. These folk know a thing or two about employing spices.
We loved the food and the service! The only downfall was our experience eating on the patio. I wish we would have been warned about how terrible the bugs were. The bugs were absolutely TERRIBLE. I know it’s not the restaurant’s fault but it completely changed our experience. We were swarmed with bugs. They were around our face, got in our food and made it hard to enjoy our delicious meal. Many people got up and left or asked to be sat inside. We got our food to go after a few bites. Bugs got in our hummus and we couldn’t eat it anymore. Our server said “oh sorry the only downfall of eating outside are the bugs” Wish we would have been warned earlier! We haven’t experienced bugs at any other restaurant in Charleston so didn’t expect them there. If you go, sit inside!
Food was excellent!!
Friends had recommended this restaurant. The food was all very good - and I lived in Egypt for years and know good ME food. However, every aspect of the service was horrible as was the ambiance. Together with the above-average prices made this an experience I would not repeat.
Casual and fun atmosphere. Food was delicious and service was attentive. We shared a lot of plates family style.
The food was awful and the server was very rude.
Save your money and time and eat somewhere else!
Terrible idea to eat here. Very very disappointing.
All of the dishes were creative and flavorful. Our foursome We shared many apps and entrees and we loved them all! Great vegetarian options. Loved every bite!! And the value was great as well!
This place is great! Food is excellent and the atmosphere is unique. Definitely recommend to anyone!
Overall a great meal and good service. Wondering if we should have staggered our order? We felt very rushed as all apps & entrees came out very quickly. So...good food but not the most relaxing Mother's Day dining experience.
Was really cold. Told waiter. Wouldn’t turn down temp. Had to send back steak. Was still undercooked.
Every visit and dining experience is better than before
I can’t express how delicious and delightful this restaurant Is!
Not really very many entrees to choose from...mainly lots of small plates.
Butcher & Bee was a cozy and eclectic brunch spot! The food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was perfect. Be sure to try one of their amazing pastries!
We chose the Chef’s pick 4 Course Tasting menu! It was soooo delicious! We enjoyed 3 great appetizers ; smoked salmon creme frache on cucumber bites, roasted beet and carrots and fresh spiced strawberries and cream for our First course. The 2nd course was a beautiful clam dish with a kimchi topping a fabulous broth with bread and a fresh herb salad and fresh strawberries. The 3rd course was a Chimichurri Hangar steak with roasted confetti vegetables and roasted asparagus. The desert was a rice crunchy crusted chocolate mouse cake with a mint dusted sorbet! It was all very wonderful. I also enjoyed the Charleston Sour cocktail!
Food is great, all of the dishes were excellent. The desserts were unique and creative.
great for families and adults alike. the food was inventive, fresh and so good! Loved the bourbon cocktail & dates. We began our meal at happy hour pricing and it was quite a deal! We’re recommending to our friends visiting soon!
