delicious food. The ribs are fantastic! Filters are cooked perfect without having to butterfly.
Very nice place, the house salad is great, just the right amount of everything and the burger was the best I’ve ever had. The only thing that would be a negative is that the tables are to close together, but we will definitely be back.
The lights were too bright when we came in (and for a while into the meal), and the meat portion of each entree was good, but not GREAT - cooked very well, but we weren't impressed with the cuts for the price. Everything else was wonderful - the sides, the dessert and the drinks were fantastic.
We had lunch with two friends. All of us ordered something different and all were delicious. This is one of our favorite local places!

We went on a Sunday, which is definitely less crowded. The food and service were exceptional.
We only had apps and wine, as we were on a tight time schedule. Service (Juan) was excellent, top notch. Pinot Noir (Le Crema) excellent. Lobster Ravioli - v. good. Butcher Block charcuterie board - v. good (could use olives). The place is a bit pricey but quite enjoyable.
Didn't see the menu online and it was quite expensive. Sides like a simple salad were extra.
Pork chop, even with ordering pink in the middle, was really tough, but tasty.
Drinks, taste ok, but the amount of ice was ridiculous.
Staff was very good.

Our experience overall was very positive! Huge kudos to the bar and creative drink options. Food quality and preparation was excellent. Did feel a little rushed as we were the first seating on a Saturday and really felt like there was a push to turn our table quickly.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day menu and excellent food.
Visited the restaurant for Gal-entine's dinner. I have been to this restaurant more than ten times and have never been seated upstairs. We ended up being the only three customers in this area (normally used for private events) and it felt remote and odd. The server was friendly and did a good job considering he also had tables in the main restaurant area on the main floor. I definitely prefer to sit in the main area. Only a price fixed menu was available for Valentine's Day. We all enjoyed every course and were happy with the menu, but others may have found it very limited. It was much more expensive than their normal prices, especially if you don't eat dessert. But the quality and flavors of the main course was spot on.

The special four course Valentine's Day menu made what can be a "blah" holiday feel celebratory. Everything my husband and I ate was wonderful, and it was a fun way to try new dishes we normally wouldn't.
My husband and I went for Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed our selections from their prefixed 4 course menu for this occasion. The only complaint would be the congested seating. The man at the table next to us was obnoxiously critiquing - from the wine to the way the server placed his silverware. It was hard to ignore because he was so close to us. Other than that, the food was delicious, the service was great and the establishment has a nice, chic feel to it.

I was excited to see they had a better variety of food options for their Valentine’s Day menu even though they claim to have a seasonal menu. This was the only reason we went there. Overall, it was poorly executed. The lobster crostini tasted like canned lobster, the salad was mundane, the desserts were some of the worst I have ever had (cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake). If you don’t have a pastry chef, or a good one, source your desserts from a local bakery. For the second and third vegetarian friendly course both contained brussel sprouts. This was a huge misstep especially since brussel sprouts do not go well with risotto versus peas or mushrooms. The star of the night was the mulligatawny soup. Overall it was very disappointing especially for the price of the food. If you are going to charge big city prices, you need to deliver on the quality of food and the preparation of it.
This was the fourth time my friend it’s half way between our homes, and although we always like trying new restaurants, we’ll be hard pressed to make the switch. Every aspect of the dining experience has been excellent, every time. Make sure to make a reservation, even at lunch during the week.

Excellent environment, delicious food and great service. It is always a treat going to Butcher & Barrel. This was a first for some of my friends and they were all extremely impressed. It is a great locations, for a date night out, a girls night out, or just wanting to treat yourself. Everything on the menu is wonderful and the food is fresh! If they run out of something, keep in mind they buy local and fresh so there isn't a stock pile or waste. They are very accommodating to finding an alternate choice. And seriously the choices are just as delicious. Definitely try this place out!

The food was over priced. For a salad with chicken, a beef sandwich with French fries, a hot tea and cup of coffee we paid over $40! This was for lunch. We will not return.
Butcher & Barrel is by far the best place to eat in Racine. Juan did and excellent job taking care of us. I recommend Butcher & Barrel to anyone looking for a great place to eat.
We went for lunch. Loved the ambiance/environment. Food was amazing and service was excellent.
Drinks were on point. We made reservations and were immediately seated which was nice. But the Staff was immature and the level of camaraderie was at an all time high. It didn’t seem like there was a manager on staff and also one waitress left her vape and switchblade at the vacant table next to us. The mushroom soup was overly salty, the wings were mushy but were of a nice size.
The one thing that really put me off was the moldy water cap on the bottle. I was instantly put off as sanitation is something that I look for in places. I really hope they change and don’t turn into the next envy... it seems like Racine can’t keep anything nice for long.
The food and service were excellent. Cute place. Seating was a little tight.
We were excited to try this restaurant as Racine is in need of dinner spots. We both ordered the fish- both over cooked. Portions were really small for the price. The tables are uncomfortably close. We hope the owners rethink their plan and make some changes to keep us coming. It has a ton of potential.

Corporate dinner here (12 people)- everyone raved about the food! Great apps and entrees for all preferences. Super high quality for Racine WI- perfect for upscale meal in a casual setting!
The food at Butcher and Barrel is good, but it's not a good value. For that price, I expect great. The service is friendly enough, and they are willing to answer questions, but the staff definitely does NOT go above and beyond to make the experience great. At a higher-end restaurant, you expect higher-end quality and service. Also, the tables are VERY close together - close enough that you could join in their conversation if you chose to do so.
There was an incident that should have been handled differently. As I said, the tables are very close together. A customer at the table next to me was trying to get back to their seat, and in squeezing between the tables, knocked a full glass of ice water all over me. Now, it wasn't their fault, but their party still purchased my cocktail for me (which was very nice of them). The restaurant, however, did literally nothing. We had to ask for napkins and clean the spill up ourselves. The floor was soaking wet, they did not come wipe it up. I had to eat my dinner with my feet in a puddle. They made a few jokes along the lines of 'at least it wasn't a full glass of wine!' Yeah, it's January and I'm doused in ice water and soaked to my socks - but go ahead and make jokes that at least it wasn't wine. They did bring me a dry menu, but since the table was still wet, it also got soaked.
They also did not do anything to try to salvage my experience. They could have comped an appetizer or dessert. They could have brought us an extra something. They could have given us a voucher to use on a future visit. But they did nothing at all. I reached out privately to the general manager to explain what happened, and he half-heartedly apologized that I got spilled on, but took no accountability for it. This all tells me that they don't actually care about their customers. There are a lot of really good restaurants in the greater Milwaukee area. I'd rather spend my money at one that cares about delighting customers.

Great as usual!! Food was delicious. Drink specials superb. This time we sat at the high top table which is preferred over the standard seating. Great dinner with friends!
Went for dinner on NYE. Food was great! We had the filet and beef medallions au poivre. But although the service was pleasant- our drinks were low/gone and we were not asked if we cared for another, and silverware arrived after our food was set at the table. At those prices in Racine, I'd expect better. Maybe NYE crowd too much for service to handle.

I highly recommend Butcher & Barrel Gastropub! My husband and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it exceeded our expectations. The food is outstanding, on par with anything you'll find at a similar price point in Milwaukee. The charcuterie board is the best I've had anywhere, ever. And the aesthetic is perfect, just what you want in this type of establishment.
It was great pick. The drinks were fun and tasty! The food was delicious. We got there an hour early so we could cocktail. We reserved high top table. We sat at the bar drank and ate right there when we were ready. It was great! No muss no fuss! They wanted us to be comfortable. Everyone was wonderful! We will be back!
This place is ok. Food was good. Portions not so big. Prices...more suited to downtown Chicago than Racine. Three adults and one child $200+ ouch.
