Start out your meal at Bustan with one of the restaurants appetizers such as the hummus or the falafel with our homemade Taboon bread. Choose from dinner options like the Kebab Halabi or Chicken "Musakhan". Top off your experience with a dessert like the gelato or "Kisses"-baked vanilla meringue, chantilly cream, raspberry sorbet, mixed berries.
Excellent experience! Our waiter Bur welcomed us and thoroughly explained the menu. He was efficient and attentive. Best hummus I have ever eaten! Each course was well prepared and seasoned! Will be back!
The food is absolutely delicious! Explosive flavors and good presentation. It's every bit as good as it was before it closed last year. So glad to have them back. The only disappointment of the 10 things we ordered was the cauliflower - it wasn't special. Everything else we'd order again for sure. The chicken main dish was particularly delicious.
Used to be a nice spot
Food poor and server was quite mean
Probably not the best place for me - wont be going anymore
Bustan apparently has a new chef. both my husband and I were not pleased with the rewritten menu. Bustan seems to have lost most of it's mideastern flavor and dining choices.
Before Bustan closed for renovations, we were regulars, but in light of the new menu we may not return.
Portions are small. Otherwise excellent all way around.
Interesting menu and all four of us highly enjoyed the food. We made a meal out of a number of smaller dishes and one entree, the grilled chicken which was delicious.
Bustan was CLOSED when we arrived with our guests! Open table had confirmed the reservation earlier in the day, to which I had responded in the affirmative. This was most inconvenient and unacceptable! You should know if a restaurant isn’t open.
The food does some wonderful takes on Mediterranean cuisine, especially the lamb and vegetable bowls cooked with bread toppings. I have had three excellent meals here, but the two dinners were so noisy as to make table side conversation almost impossible.
This was my second visit to Bustan, both were terrific. The hangar steak is delicious and the lamb casserole was also really good. Loved the burrata salad and our group of three shared the Turkish Sundae and Neshikot--both were unusual and creative. We'll happily return.
We ate outside which was a real treat
The food was delicious as usual. The service was attentive w/o being overbearing. We sat in the garden since it was a warm nite. They turned the heater on for us. One of the benefits of the garden seating was that we were far away from the loud music in the dining room. This was my 3rd visit in the last month as I've been celebrating my birthday w various friends. The food and service continue to delight. I have tried a number of things on the menu. Normally I am not inspired by dessert menus but I have tried 3 different desserts and enjoyed each one thoroughly, tho I think the sfinj may be my favorite. Thank you for this lovely neighborhood dining spot.
May become a top choice.
Gracious staff, excellent food pleasant ambiance and the night we were therethe noise level was great.
Enjoy this little gem
Great service. Middle eastern food and appy’s delicious.
Bustan does not disappoint, consistently good food with choices for all in our party of 4! A perfect place for a winter meal!
Service with a smile and great ambience and food. Salmon/polenta dish is a must try item. Classy and tasty drinks. Fun to eat the terra-cotta dishes with the toasted bread tops. The starter bread is delicious as well. I will definitely return.
we had an amazing experience with top shelf service and delicious, food. The setting is terrific and everyone in the party was raving about it.
Must go back!
Our waiter, Antonio, was very attentive and careful about some allergies. He clearly knows the menu inside and out. The food was delicious.
Food is always amazing. Service is almost non-existent. They're not rude or actively bad, just slow and inattentive. This is not the first time we've had this issue. Will continue to still go back over and over though, because the food itself is delicious!
We came for brunch the restaurant wasn’t that busy maybe 5 other tables. I waited over 20 minutes for coffee and there was no attention to detail. Our food was served and part of the order was missing. No one came to the table to check to see how the food was or if we needed anything. Water and coffee wasn’t refilled. The food that did arrive was good but everything else clouded the experience. If it was busy I could probably be a bit more sympathetic but the staff was just not paying attention
lovely for lunch.... good for meeting friends.....lovely weekend brunch
Our waiter was very accommodating. we had a great long lunch with old friends we seldom see.
Another wonderful night at Bustan. Excellent service yummy food. Shir the pastry chef is the best I love her.
I arrived early at opening time for lunch but the rest of my party of 4 were late, up to 30 minutes. Antonio, the host, was very gracious and seated me, offering a glass of water and or anything else. He has a fine sense of humor and never made me feel uncomfortable while I waited for my party.
The octopus appetizer, our lunches of shakshuka, Mediterranean salad, and various pitas were fresh and delicious, and served in a timely manner. The service during our lunch was efficient and friendly! Highly recommend Bustan for upper west side dining!
Incredibly nice staff. They were attentive, talked to us, came to see if everything was okay, professional to a T, and offered us on-the-house items to maximize our experience. I can say, this was genuinely one of my best wait-staff experiences in a restaurant to date. Not to mention, the food was heavenly. HIGHLY recommended.
Great food and great ambience. The service though was spotty. We had to continue asking for parts of our order. Wait staff was very nice, just not competent. Still, a wonderful evening.
Excellent food, especially the Israeli salad, the mettazim appetizers and the Terracotta dishes (lamb or veggie). Highly spiced (not hot). Service was perfect. Not cheap, but look where it was.
Bustan has a wonderful outdoor dining space. The food is delicious and the ambience and noise level are very good.
The food was bland and certainly not worth the price.
The service, food choices and ambiance were excellent. Our waiter Alex was funny, witty and full of helpful hints as to wines and meal.
The garden was perfect for a quiet relaxed delish meal.
My first time dining here with my friend. Very creative food , beautifully served. The manager was most pleasant and attentive.
The main room might be noisy but who cares?
I went to Bustan with my family on Saturday night. Not only was the food great, the service was truly amazing. The waiter checked in on us at appropriate times (was not overbearing), and even let us taste a side of something that was part of a larger dish even though it wasnt on the list of sides. They also found out my husband and I were newlyweds and brought us champagne.
The food was delicious and very unique. They have a wide variety of appetizers to share and several larger dishes on the menu. Everything we tried (4 apps, 2 mains, 2 desserts) was amazing! It was also half off some rose bottles :)
A bit too noisy, but worth it when the food arrives. I've been twice and ate scrumptious food each time. Best to order all apps for everyone to share. And don't skip dessert! The halvah sundae was AHmazing!
The service was terrible. The waiter lost our check. The waiter forgot to bring us coffee, water and bread. After a couple of hours we managed to eat, then the waiter said the manager wanted to apologize but we had to wait for that as well. Maybe they were stoned or these were new hires. Also the cooks did not allow any substitutions. The food is actually really good, however.
Went there for Sunday brunch. Was thrilled with the food selection, quality of dishes, attentive service, beautiful décor, and back covered patio. Would recommend to anyone (already have recommended to many neighborhood friends & relatives).
Food was below average/average at best. Service was good and our waiter was very nice.
Delicious. A little pricey, but overall, really good. We had a table of 6, and ordered 4 or 5 shared plates and 2-3 entrees.
We loved it, great food at a very reasonable price
This was my third visit and as excellent as the others. Exceptional food, great staff. Always enjoy eating there; always look forward to going back. The desserts are extraordinary. One of the best in the city.
Interesting choices, but a little pricey for offerings.
Middle East cuisine is creative and superb. This is not your standard Greek menu.
Outdoor dining was roomy and quiet, thanks to the weather. Indoors looked to be
somewhat more tight and noisy.
