Burt & Max's Bar and Grille Ratings and Reviews
Let me start by saying, I’ve been to Burt an Max’s several times and always had a great time, great food and great service.
That was not the case this last time. The service was extremely slow, leaving us with empty drink glasses often. There were seven us and four (4) of the seven entrees were terrible, with burnt salmon being the issue with three (3).
However, the manager was great. He did everything he could to resolve the issues, including a free round of drinks and removing several of the entrees from our bill. I will give it another try, only because the manager was so great.
We had to wait 20 plus minutes to be seated for our 6:45 pm reservation. Food was good but we had to keep asking for the waitress to bring the food items she forgot. Never got water refills. Kept asking for the soup I ordered and finally got it after the meal. There were things we asked for 2-3 times but never got. This restaurant needs improvement but could be very good.
I had a delicious dinner of shrimp and cauliflower vodka and my friends had salmon. My husband had the Korean bowl, but the meat was a little tough. Our waitress brought us delicious cornbread which we had with our drinks. Our service was very god and we were seated promptly.
Burt and Max was very good. The food was good and the waitress was attentive. However, it was noisy for any kind of conversation. Special note: the parking on a Friday was horrific at this venue. Get there early! I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or week nights when there might be less of a crowd.
We sat outside because the weather was beautiful. $11 for $11 lunch has many offers but the highlite of lunch was the service and onion soup dumplings appetizer and peanut nutter butter pie that our server Joey suggested. A few glasses of wine, good food, weather and service equals a perfect day. We dine here often but yesterday makes us want to come everyday
We have eaten at Burt and Max several times before and enjoyed it. The menu has changed and we felt it was not as good as the original. My Hamburger was ordered medium rare and arrived well done. I am not the type that makes a stink and sends it back, however, I felt that the food was not up to the prices. My wife had the steak and did not like it either. The noise level of where we were seated was unbearable. It was very difficult for a party of four to have a pleasant conversation.
