This was a surprisingly wonderful experience! Our waiter was attentive and helpful and service was prompt. He recommended the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were fabulous! We had 4 different entrees and everyone enjoyed theirs. The dessert was a chocolate dessert which all 4 of us were able to enjoy AND the dessert was served WITH the coffee! We will be back!
Always consistent with good food and their service.
Food was good the waiitress was excellent
What happened to one of our favorite restaurants????
Brick oven pizza was soggy, thick crust and had hardly any cheese.
Giant carrot muffin was significantly smaller than before with mostly frosting on top.
Burgers are overpriced.
All five in my party, who were regular customers, were very disappointed.
It was very pleasant
Overall, everything was very good. I've always been a big fan of Burt and Dennis' places. The big disappointment last night was the disappearance of the creme brulee pie. For years, this has been a big lure for me. From Maxaluna to Old Prezzo to Max's Grill. I have always described this as the desert to end all deserts. I am baffled as to why this woulda be removed. To be clear, that is the only disappointment.
We requested an outdoor table with our reservation. Instead of apologizing for not having one available for at least a half hour, a hostess silently led us to inside tables twice without saying that we were being offered those tables to avoid a long wait. When we finally spoked to a different hostess and understood that they were trying to save us time, we accepted an inside table. It took 15 minutes before a waitresses appeared. We got our drinks fairly quickly and placed our orders. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive without our waitress coming by once to offer another drink or apologize for the delay. When the food came, three of the four orders were good. The fourth, a simple hamburger, was well done instead of medium rare and cold. This is a restaurant that is always mobbed, and I don’t know why. There’s a lot of competition where the food is as good if not better and the service is much more gracious and efficient
We’ve been many times, but our friends never were there. Our reservation was honored, our waiter was very good, and our table was fine. The men ordered the short rib special and it was outstanding. The girls ordered the steak bowl, and it was excellent. We weren’t rushed, even though the restaurant was very busy. It was an excellent dinner enjoyed by all 4 of us.
Very friendly atmosphere. Lunch specials were very varied, delicious and great value !! Can't wait to go back.
Yummy as usual!!
Food was cold
Never going back
Three friends got together for lunch. They have a special menu that is 11 choices for $11. Two of us had one of the specials and the third is gluten free so she made a choice from the regular menu. One person had a beautiful, fluffy omelet with a side side, another had a hamburger with sweet potato fries and a third had a grilled chicken breast. We were able to talk in a booth and have a lovely lunch with iced coffee and regular coffee. The service was good and the food nicely prepared.
Great experience all around. Will be a future regular.
A consistent casual dinner option. Varied menu from sandwiches , to pizzas, to real food, whatever fits your mood. Like anywhere service depends on the server, all kids, some are better than the others. Salads are huge , totally splittable. Prices are ok , entrees in the 20's, most everything else mid teens. They pour a very generous drink.
Enjoyed our meal overall but service was extremely slow. Our server was very pleasant and got our orders correct but seemed incredibly stretched. Management was visible but oblivious to guest needs. Maybe someone called in sick or they were short staffed for some other reason but a good management team should be able to fill the blanks. This visit they did not.
Amazing food! Great service!
Perfect for my birthday dinner! Tried some new dishes and loved them!!!
Excellent service. Probably best I’ve ever had. Food was delicious as usual.
We were very happy with the ambiance. The service was outstanding, from the greeter, to the waitress. Best of all, the $11.00 lunch, can’t be beat.
Nice place but we were stuck with a totally disinterested waitress, Mallory. There was a terrific lady behind the reservation counter who took pity on us and brought us coffee.
We did make our reservation
Two people in our party of 4 had the turkey burgers and they enjoyed them. The 3rd had the hamburger and he said it was okay, not a rave review. The 4th ordered the fried chicken sandwich that was totally overcooked causing it to be very dry. Neither the weird pickled red cabbage topping, nor the aioli spread helped. At $14each we expected a bit more quality.
We will give another try before we cross Burt and Max off our list.
Always have a good lunch here. Good value with the 11 for 11 menue
Love going to Burt and Max’s. Our waitress must be new because she didn’t explain the lunch dishes correctly. She wasn’t very attentive either. She disappeared when we were looking around for her for ice coffee refills. Their ice coffee is made by pouring hot coffee over ice cubes so it’s very diluted. The food is always yummy and we go there quite often.
I was I’ll this week and had specifications as to what I could eat and our waitress was more than accommodating!
Please notify open table we did eat at the restaurant sat night. The food was greatbb
Great food, drink and all is typical of Burt & Max's. Surprised to find on St. Patrick's Day, Corned Beef special I ordered was less than expected. The corned beef, even as presented on the plate when served, looked like it was left over. I tried to slice a piece and could hardly get the knife to cut it. It was tough, fatty pieces all around. I sent it back and asked for a different cut from a different piece and was told to expect the same. Cancelled that and ordered something else.
Disappointed that one of the managers did not come by. But I love the place and the food is always great so I will return. The Caesar Salad and Spinach Artichoke appetizers were excellent.
Always our favorite spot. Great food and service. Perfect place to take guests.
Lovely restaurant, excellent service. Fabulous $11.00 lunch, all inclusive. Did not rush our party out.
Pleasant venue but noisy inside. There are outdoor options.
Great value for lunch menu.
Service was good.
Always a fun evening at this restaurant .
The food as well as the service is always good. There is a good selection on the menu for dinner.
Fun place to go for dinner. Great waiter. Food came out perfectly.
Eggplant parmigiana was cut in two slices that were much too thick.the cheese was almost not present.
The fries were heavily salted.
Great server. Delicious food
Server was excellent
Good service. Consistently good food.
First off to day is that we dine here quite often. We are apart of the loyalty program, frequent happy hour, cigar bar and the occasional whiskey tasting. We had family in town from NY and requested a table outside with Joey. It was a little tight but we are family and Joey treats us as family always Food is always delicious. We started with Brussels sprouts , special steak quesadilla, calamari and their onion soup dumplings. For dinner we shared meatloaf, chicken waffles, Korean bowl, a special spicy shrimp and Brussels sprout Caesar salad, salmon and the a carrot cake and 2 slices of peanut butter pie. All followed by cappuccino, espresso and Sambuca which we finished by the fire pit. Can’t say enough about Burt&max, food and Joey.
We went there with high expectations. Every single one was surpassed. Great attention to detail from the maitre Dame to the bar tender to the amazing dishes that Chef Patrick created. Definitely add to your must-try list
My family and I had previously dined at Burt and Max’s and they certainly carry a certain expectation for level of food quality and service. Unfortunately, we had neither at our most recent experience. We dined on a Sunday afternoon as a table of 8. Our server was terrible. Took 20 minutes to get drink orders to the table-water, tea, OJ. Multiple times we had to flag down for refills, never even brought enough silverware. It took an hour to get our food delivered to the table from the time we arrived. We could see it sat in the window 15 minutes as (we were facing the kitchen) before it arrived at our table. By that point, our eggs were petrified by the heat lamp, brussel sprouts were a bowl of mush, one of the steaks was completely rare. A total mess. We asked for the manager who was less than understanding, but did eventually replace some of the eggs, re-fired the steak, and replaced the soggy Brussels. We brought to her attention how slow the food was moving out of the window and noticed she took up carrying out the food to tables from that point on. Although they removed some of the items from the bill, overall the service and food quality we received left much to be desired. Charging the kind of money they do for meals, you expect certain standards as a diner. We will not be going back.
