Enjoy progressive American cuisine with handcrafted cocktails in Mystic Room & Tavern, the intimate film noir-inspired bar named for Burritt Alley.
View Private Dining DetailsExtremely helpful and knowledgeable waiter. Outstanding and exotic cocktail menu, although a bit esoteric but waiter was extremely helpful to interpret. Food was delicious. Difficult to decide what to order because I almost everything on the menu sounded delicious! Live Jazz band was a nice addition to drown out the loud bar area. They were very pleasant to listen too. Service was a bit slow but tolerable. They made up for it by being incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. Hostess was very pleasant and helpful as well.
Great food and service. I have been here several times and there is always an issue, they are out of the Vodka you order, the wine you order isn't cold, they bring the wrong desert, but they always make good on an issue with a smile and a "free something". Over-all always good food and service in a great atmosphere. Strange review, but I always have a good time and go back.
Great craft cocktail bar. Dining room is great for fun not so great for business meeting. Too noisy
Excellent service and food. Had a great experience here. Will be going back
I love this place! Live jazz music while eating delicious food and heavenly drink, it doesn’t get better!
Love everything about Mystic - live music, GREAT sommelier (kevin!), awesome wine list, tasty food, and best of all - the ambiance. It’s not super fancy, but is exactly what you want for a nice Friday night out with friends and has a unique vibe - not like every other SF spot. Two thumbs up!
Very personal, responsive, and informative service - made it a very nice experience for all of us - and, the pork belly & brussel sprouts were amazing!
Not as good as it used to be when it was the burrit room.
Great service
Very nice! Great staff! Delicious food! Loved it!
Great Food and Drinks! My wife, cousins [spouses] and I went (9 ppl) and we enjoyed this place. The menu was good and the value was great. Handcrafted cocktails and a foodies type menu. I had the vegetarian pasta which was awesome, but boy did I want to try the wagyu burger (currently not eating meat). Would definitely return.
Super great place, recently changed named from Burritt Room to Mystic, still the same great place. Menu is creative and delicious. Great drinks at the bar too! Live music in the lounge and private tables on the other side. Very good food.
What a gem! I wasn’t too sure about this place as we walked up to the hotel (almost In the tunnel!), but the jazz band playing as we entered on the second floor set me at ease.
The ambience feels like a speakeasy with”booths” that are recessed and lit by candlelight.
The food was delicious and delivered quickly and the drinks were spot on.
I’m so glad we found this place and we will be back ;)
Great venue and vibe
Excellent spot! There was live music the night I was there (a Friday). I had the cheesy tots to start and they were just as fabulous as they sound. The server recommended the pork chop and it was fantastic.
The food was amazing, the waiter was very knowledgeable on the entree options and drinks. Great place for a romantic date night
I discovered this hidden gem searching through Open Table for a location suitable for a party of 6. The ambiance was lovely, they comfortably sat us all together at a long table in the center of the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by a live jazz band playing in the bar that you initially walk through to get to the restaurant area. The food was fantastic and the service very attentive. Along the wall sat tables in what resembled private booths, perfect for a date night with that special someone. I would highly recommend this location to friends and family looking to enjoy the night out.
Have been there several times for drinks, first time for dinnr, FANTASTIC!*Music was outstanding, will definately bring out of town guests.
I went to celebrate my big birthday, with my girlfriends. The food was amazing, the ambiance is cool. We enjoyed the live jazz. Will definitely be back!
Great overall experience! Absolutely recommend and would suggest the Brussels sprouts and tots as an app!
NYE 2017 was a blast and all due to this great place! Enjoyed dinner with two friends and rung in the New Years at the bar. Will be coming back - thank you Burritt Room + Tavern!
This is a bit difficult as it was NYE and the prix fixe menu was pretty limited on choices (as a prix fixe menu is). There were four courses and a little appetizer and all but the main course were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the steak was a bit overcooked a way too tough for the standard set by the rest of the meal. Staff was most accommodating and engaged with us about the situation, and I am confident they carried the comments to the kitchen. I have always had outrageously good meals here and I love the quirky ambience.
Our anniversary tradition. Always a pleasure.
The new menu is a lot shorter. But the pork chop, Brussels sprouts, and beer salad were fantastic.
My husband and I went for the Christmas Eve set menu. The food was so good, the ambience was festive and felt very San Francisco. The waitstaff was attentive. We will go again next year if we stay in town. Thank you!
I wasn’t expecting the hotel to look so run down; the restaurant was old, not particularly nice in fact it was humid and had a weird odor. The waiter seemed like he was in a bad mood, they automatically added a high gratuity while the service was subpar. The food was excellent -lamb was fantastic.
Our server was terrific. Very congenial, made sure we got to our theater performance on time.
Terrific, innovative food. I had a great mezcal-based spicy craft cocktail that meshed perfectly with the pork chop. Our table of four shared roasted Brussels sprouts and a beet and goat cheese salad before the entree. Generous portions and delicious food. Recommended.
great service, great food, good wine. friendly staff!
Great ambiance and have private rooms for dinner for 4.
Felt bad for server. He did a good job but the kitchen dropped the ball on him. Only half the people in our group of 7 got their entrees and the others had to wait for at least 20 minutes or more before seeing theirs.
It was thanksgiving dinner, the food started out awesome and each course was progressively worse and the desert was average at best. The soup and the Brussels Sprouts were awesome. The service was great. The main course was warm, not hot. They did have 20% off bottles of wine.
We came for Thanksgiving dinner which was a set menu. The decor was very cool - flim noir without being so dark that you can't see the menu. Our family of four got a nice "lightly screened-off" space which felt both private and intimate, yet we could still look into the restaurant. The menu was a fixed Thanksgiving menu so no ordering was required.
The breads were delish with elements of surprise both in the bread (scallions) and the butter (herbed and sea salted). The squash soup was delish - purred with sophistication and not seeming baby foodish. The Brussels Sprouts were to die. The entree was as good as Thanksgiving food can be if you don't naturally love turkey, stuffiing and cranberries. The mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy, chunky and tasty. The Bison stew was a nice touch, but a tad too watery and could have been omitted. Short rib would have been a more amazing touch or even some beef or pork medallions w/ more mashed potatoes and a leek confit.
The desserts were parfait to finish the meal. The service fantastic - attentive enough without hovering. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I nice find inside a hotel that seems very different than the Tavern. Bon Appetit!
Food was decent. Waiter was terrible. Forgot my drink, disappeared for almost the entire meal without checking in, neglected to tell us our minor preparation request wasn’t honored and brought the food anyway, then completely inappropriately commented on my wife’s (good) body.
Excellent! Highly recommend. Jared, our waiter was on point with menu recommendations and drink suggestions and just all around great guy. We had the New York steak, salmon, cannelloni all incredible. For dessert the pudding type dish with meringue ...crazy good and Creme Brûlée. Really cool vibe with live music in the adjacent bar. We can't wait to go back😃
Service was late we sat for 30 min before we were ask what we wanted to drink.
We were told of a "Speakeasy" type of restaurant near our hotel Sir Francis Drake and asked the concierge if he had any juice getting us in as we had tried for 5 days to make a reservation to no avail. He mentioned that he knew of a better one and it was only two blocks away. The Burritt Room and Tavern was just what we had in mind. We enjoyed a couple of their specialty "period" cocktails as we waited for our table. We enjoyed the squash lasagna and the chicken Airlie. Service was great and attentive all in a fun atmosphere. Definitely a hidden gem.
Loved the food, the service and the ambience. I had a reservation and was pleasantly surprised to find that our table was in a little semi private area. Almost like a private booth. That way we could still talk and hear other while enjoying the music from the main room. The cheese tots were fantastic, and so was the spinach pizza flatbread.
Food took 90 mins to arrive for a party of four. It arrived cold and under cooked. Wait staff completely ignored us. Just a miserable experience for our entire group. Would in no way recommend this place.
Excellent food! Had the tastiest roasted bone marrow I’ve ever had.
The service was awesome. The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu... and gave us some input on our order choices.
The live jazz music was a good addition to an already romantic ambiance.
We love this place and would definitely go back!!!
Loved the musical entertainment
