Burra Burra on the River
We stayed for a long weekend in Copperhill, TN where the hostess recommended this establishment for dinner. The food was very good and plentiful!! We actually ended up eating there 3 of the time we went out to eat, twice for dinner and once for lunch. All three times the wait staff was terrific. We will definitely be going up to the Blue Ridges Mountains and this will be on our list of stops.
I loved our dining experience at Burra Burra on the River. My friends and I were there to celebrate a birthday and everything was perfect.....the service, the food, and the staff. The manager offered a free dessert to our entire table and we all enjoyed it very much. Each time I come to Blue Ridge, GA I will definitely make time to have lunch or dinner at Burra Burra on the River. I keep sharing my great dining experience with family and co-workers and can't wait to go back.
Kate the bartender is fabulous. Great services from her..
Well we got there and waited 10-15 minutes after being seated and no one ever came over to get our order so we left. We’ve ate there before and loved it but this last visit wasn’t great!
Good food, good ambience. Staff was inattentive— had to ask several staff to clear rounds of dishes after appetizer, and meal before it happened.
Many items listed on the menu were ‘out.’
The cheese sticks appetizer is a must try. They are so huge and delicious! We had Sally Jane sandwich and the caesar wrap. The Sally Jane was good but the caesar wrap was just ok. The service was amazing. Our server literally ran to and from our table, was super charismatic, and made sure we got our order in before a large group pit there's in. Which was really appreciated. I wish I could shout him out by name. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Family coming together from three states for a great lunch.
Quickly sat during the lunch rush and got food quickly too. Very good choices and quality. Nice outdoor setting by the Toccoa River.
Had a 4:00 reservation that was confirmed the day before. However they called 3 hours before reservation to tell me they were closing at 4:00 so I either had to cancel or come early. Then even though I went earlier than expected and it wasn’t a dinner but more of lunch they wanted to charge $3.99 for my wife eating one the tacos off my plate because that was considered “sharing”. Good food and nice setting but HORRIBLE policies.
Our Food took forever and was cold. Horrible service.
Food was so greasy we could not eat it. Fries undercooked. Shrimp had so much batter and was doughy.
Food and service were great. Noise level a little loud making it difficult to have conversation without raising voices but I would definitely eat here again.
Making the reservation was easy, seating was immediate, service was super and the food was outstanding and unique! We will definitely be back.
Great location on the river. Very clean and nice. Food was great. Service was very good. Cant wait to go bac.
Service was slow. We had the Fish and Chips. The fist was dry and tough but the chips were very good. The cole slaw was not cold.
Service was a great a bit slow towards the end we had to go get out check to pay. Didn’t like the fact we were tucked in a corner with a bug catcher tapes to the well. That was just gross
A short drive from blue ridge for a change of pace. Everything was wonderful
Great no nonsense place to eat, will be back soon!
Horrible service. Told them I was gluten free and they told me they could make food that was GF and then they gave me food that was not GF. Would not go back
Great food, great service , fun birthday celebration
The food was great. Service was fine.
We would have felt more comfortable
If the servers were wearing masks. Will not be coming back.
The location of Burra Burra is great - right on the river. I'm betting it's a great place during the spring and summer. We had a couple appetizers and entrees that were all good. I highly recommend the chili. I liked that it was a "regular" chili (no fancy ingredients) but was very tasty!
Awesome food and service. Will definitely go back.
Took my grandmother for her 96th birthday, the food was excellent and the staff made a fuss over her. It made her feel special. It was a great time for us
Food was amazing and the service was great as well. It was our first time and we will most definitely return. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich is to die for. Thanks for a wonderful first experience!
We were very impressed with the food and great service. We will definitely come back again!
We had a large party and restaurant was busy but service and food was good.
Best jalapeño burgers!!!
This is a neat restaurant that is located directly on the river. It was our first time there and we ordered fried shrimp and it was delicious! Good service and nice setting. We will be back.
A lovely evening was had with our 4 friends who had come up from FL. The service was excellent. The geese on the river put on a good show for us landing and then all taking off. A gentleman brought a propane heater that took the chill out of the air as we enjoyed being outside. The food was plentiful and some had leftovers to take home. Our meals were chicken and plenty of fresh vegetables, the mushroom burger, salmon and other types of burgers.
Good food. Great beer list. Great service. The view from the deck by the river is great!
We saw a billboard for this restaurant on a trip to Blue Ridge for apples. We could not have been happier with our accidental choice! Burra Burra is in McKaysville, a short drive from Mercier Apple Orchard, and has a dining deck right on the Toccoa River. We were blessed to have a waiter, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember but who was a River Rescue volunteer and a former Marine, who took care of us like we were royalty. I particularly appreciated the fact that he was patient with my mom, who has senile dementia. The hostess re-seated us indoors when the wind got too chilly, and the whole staff was cheerful, helpful, and professional.
Food - my parents and husband had the 1929, a brisket sandwich that was HUGE, and the River fries - which I highly recommend you get with cheese and bacon...YUMMY and enough to share what was on my husband's plate. I had the chicken salad sandwich, which was big enough to eat half and save half for supper - also delicious.
Overall, this "happy accident" made us want to plan another trip and spend more time in McKaysville, and we will definitely eat here again.
Great outdoor seating right by the river. The service was excellent.
Very busy but still had good service. Food was great
Made reservation. Upon arrival at restaurant the host did not seem to know reservations were available. Could not sit outside as requested. Server informed us "no straws" were available, ok. Two items I had wished to order were not available. Asked for coffee, the machine was broken. Once server left she never returned except to give us our check. Restaurant was not crowded. My husband's salad was ok. My impossible burger was not impressive and fries were cold. We drive 90 minutes and have tried this restaurant four times. The first time being the best. That is why we have returned since, thinking they were having a bad day. Now we see the first time was the aberration and the others were normal. It is a shame, too. They have a great location and the menu has a lot to offer. Too bad. We will not try again.
We were really excited to go here as it’s one of the top rated restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience.
We were seated fairly quickly upon arrival, but they failed to ever come serve us. We never even got water! After about 20 minutes of waiting we flagged someone down and asked for a server. They came back to say someone would be with us shortly, but after another 10 minutes no one had come and MANY staff members had walked by us. We left and spent our money elsewhere.
They kept getting our order wrong. They brought out 3 different times mind you, the wrong plates of food. They food was WAY over priced. E.G.: the shrimp basket had 4 shrimp on it and a tiny handful of french fries for $14.99. Due to covid, I'm guessing they are trying to make up loss time and money.
Great location, and reasonably priced food. They were very short-handed when we were there, so it took a while to get our food, otherwise no issues.
My friends and I were staying at the cabins in Blue Ridge and had a nice dinner. The owner is amazing! She was very friendly and made sure that we were taken care of.
Excellent service, food and experience. Just a fun place! Great management and staff. Highly recommend it!
