Told them it was birthday for 2 people on reservation. They ignored it and didn’t even ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. Just gave us the bill after clearing main course. I was confused. Had 3 different servers working the table and I think it was a mis-communication between the 3 of them. Food took 35 minutes after ordering. It was just frustrating. Food was excellent.

Every time we travel to the San Jose area we make it a point to eat at Burma Ruby. The food is great. I highly recommend the Tea Leaf Salad. It’s an amazing taste experience!

Fabulous meal! The tea leaf salad is a must-have! Chicken Biryani and Basil Beef were superb. Coconut rice compliments the beef.

Our server, Melvyn, was attentive and sincere. Knowledgeable about preparation and ingredients for different dishes. He made our evening so enjoyable.

We look forward to returning soon!

I unfortunately was disappointed by my experience at Burmese Ruby. The fried calamari were far too much dough and not enough fish, and the tea leaf salad was underwhelming.

Burma Ruby is a good restaurant where i have eaten several times. The food and service are usually very good. The prices are reasonable for what you get. If you like spicy food you can get it at Burma Ruby.

When you get your bill from Burma Ruby you may wonder what the charge is for ACA. That is the Affordable Care Act. The management has the nerve to put that on the bill, and then to charge tax on that amount too! I asked if we could expect a charge next time for the PGE bill too? This is either a political statement by the management or a cheap way to put an amount on every bill so "they won't have to increase the prices of their meals." BTW: the staff at the restaurant are not provided health care because they are "part-time." I saw the same tactic at their sister restaurant on High Street. My wife and I will no longer be patronizing either place.

It's a good place for a casual dinner. Food and service are great. The atmosphere is a bit more casual, especially with the bright lights.

Burma Ruby has a fabulous, not-to-be missed tea salad. Spectacular every time! We also had the chicken kabat. It was substantial enough to share. The coconut rice goes really well with this chicken dish. Always delicious!

Good food but horrible hostess when we checked in. Sat us at a table that kept moving because it was uneven. We asked to be seated to a different tabke but were told by her that they have stooped seating at all the empty tables. So many empty tables and she said they had stopped seating on those tables. The whole time we were stuck at the table that kept moving back and forth. Made the whole experience bad for us. Horrible horrible server names Shayan made our experience bad.

We were late for our reservation so we sat at the bar. The bartender did an excellent job of taking our order, keeping the glasses full, etc.

This place is one of your favorite go-to places for special occasions. We love the food & ambiance. The service is good, though they took a while this time to bring water to our table or get the order for appetizers. But once the order was placed, the service was pretty fast.
