Inspired by the relaxed way of life and simple, stunning food of the Mediterranean, the kitchen is at the heart of everything that we do with our vibrant restaurant and wood-fired oven undoubtedly the main attraction. During the colder months enjoy the warming atmosphere of Burley Manor's fire-lit restaurant and in summer, soak in plenty of nature's nurturing on our New Forest terrace.

Following the seasons, allowing nature to play a leading role in our menus, we are proud advocates of the slow food movement and craft our menus with the taste of the forest, using only the finest locally-sourced, New Forest Marque accredited suppliers.

Our wine list offers an ever-changing choice of whites and reds, rosés and champagnes. They are all available by a third of a bottle carafe (250ml) too, making it easier to explore the wine list and sample something new.

The food was fantastic, cannot fault it at all. Fresh, great quality food. The service was not what was expected of a high end establishment due to the lack of staff available at any time. We were waiting for help a few times; firstly to ask to move tables as the window was broken and it was very cold for us, and secondly to pay the bill. We were waiting for quite a while. The fire alarm went off too. I understand this out of anyone's control, and I'm glad they work however, the staff told us to stay where we were due to it being set off by steam from a shower. It was very loud for about 10 minutes and the staff thought it was funny. Just seemed a little unprofessional. We also noticed a couple were waiting for their main meal for over 30 minutes and everyone at my table were becoming uncomfortable due to how rightly annoyed the elderly couple were becoming. I just feel the price we paid at the venue and the marketing prior to arrival suggests it's a high end venue and our expectations did not reflect our experience. It was a shame because the venue is beautiful, the staff were friendly when they were available and as mentioned the food was fantastic. It was also a shame as it was a birthday celebration and it tainted the evening for us.

No real atmosphere very expensive . Bar waiter has very dirty trousers on . Sweet bought to table by waitess it was completely the wrong dessert . The dessert was still a little frozen .

A beautiful setting. The grounds, buildings and furniture were all stunning. The food was dreadful. Not fully cooked and what was cooked was cold. The menue reads very well, but they just couldn't transfer that to the plate. Several elements of the meal were inedible. There were four of us who all felt the same. It was very quiet and the service was still very slow and the waitress had no idea of what was being served. It seemed like it was her first day. The price was very high and if you want return custom at those prices then the food needs to be vastly improved.

Poor. Limited lunch menu, told us 20 minutes after ordering that 2 of our tables choices weren’t available. Food arrived an hour later and 1 dish was the wrong dish. When we tried to explain this we were told it was the right dish and we were wrong. We weren’t and referred the staff to the menu. Still told we were wrong. I explained again as we talked through the menu description and explained I would not be paying for this dish (which was left untouched as the person did not eat what had been brought as their lunch). No apology. Server was rude. My husbands birthday but this was not acknowledged. When the bill arrived a service charge had been added which I requested was removed - this happened. In summary - limited choices, some of which were not available. Very long delay between ordering and food arriving. Food order was wrong as per menu description but serving staff argued I was wrong, they were right, poor service. They had the chance to correct this with an acceptance and an apology but they refused. Do not go!

The menu was disappointing, very summery not hot dessert, and the château Brianne was accompanied by chips and salad. The breath of the menu was exceptionally disappointing.

The worst dining experience I’ve had in many years. Empty restaurant but still the food took almost an hour to arrive, then was awful and left uneaten. Staff didn’t have a clue what they were doing and when we went to pay to split the bill seemed like the hardest thing in the world. Beautiful location. Lovely building. Terrible restaurant.
