Burger Bar - South Loop
Burgers are definitely the name of the game at Burger Bar Chicago. Try our original stackers - like the Wild Bill (bison burger with arugula, goat cheese and tomato chutney on a pretzel bun) and our Firehouse (1/2 lb. patty topped with pepper jack, chorizo relish and guajillo aioli) - as well as alternatives like the amazing Veggie Burger or the Turkey BLT. Of course, the beer list will blow your mind too. With a huge, ever changing craft on draft selection and many more in bottles and cans, come enjoy one of the best microbrew selections in Chicago.
And after your meal? How about a delicious shake like our Chocolate 3-Way or our Banana Nutella, which round out your stay just right. See you soon!
Wait staff were great with our large party and multiple bills
customer service overall could definitely be much better. All patrons should be treated with respect no matter ethnicity or sex.
Awesome burgers and awesome selection of beers!
Great place to go with a group for lunch or after work. Good burgers and nice selection of beers.
We went to celebrate our son’s 3rd birthday. As always the food was amazing, beer selection great for everyone and service was attentive. There is a reason we love coming here!
My birthday lunch with a college friend, the service has improved greatly, bravo! Door is always great. Thank u
Not as good as we expected
The burgers were very good, but the food was only lukewarm. Should have been hotter. Service was fine, the place was clean and the atmosphere was good.
I enjoyed the food at Burger Bar immensely. The jerk wings, fried pickles and Mac and Cheese were phenomenal. I also had a whiskey sour and that was pretty excellent. The staff was ready for my large parties reservation so we were sat on time. My waiter did take a while to get everyone's order and didn't get back to our table often enough to take second orders but to be fair it was semi busy.
Overall, it was a good experience. My advice would be definitely make a reservation, make sure your party all arrives on time, and try to be ready with the waiter comes to the table or you may be waiting for them to come back for a while. If you are trying to converse, not really the spot. The noise level is high. Not a quiet dinner but definitely a good one.
Impossible Burger was delish (and I’m a meat eater!)
If you want a good burger and a beer (or even a milkshake) it's a good place to go. It was a little too much food for me but my college students (who were all non-traditionally aged) really enjoyed it! Nice location right on S. Michigan just down the street from the Chicago Hilton.
Very good burgers, price is slightly higher than expected, but the quality and service offset the high cost.
Amazing burgers and wonderful staff. Frickles were fab!
3 of our 6 burgers were undercooked, waitress visited us maybe twice. Have been here before and had no issues so maybe this was a 1 off but I also heard it was closed down for a while for sanitation purposes.
Poor service and overpriced burgers. Went on a weekday night and we were one of 6 tables in the whole place. Should’ve known better.
Was seated promptly by good staff. Order was taken quickly and menu was thoroughly explained. Had the pork belly appetizer without the kimchi. Was very well cooked and tasty. Built my own burger (no bun) with a side salad. I ordered a medium burger but it was more medium-well to well done. Meat was tasty but a little dry. Toppings were good. Wait staff took awhile to get me my check so luckily I was not in a hurry. I would go back and try some other items.
Good food but burger was a little disappointing. Service was great though!
One of the best burgers Iv'e ever had. Irish born waitress was more than friendly and kind. Went there before Peter Frampton concert which was hot that day . Air con could have been a bit cooler but besides that small complaint we had a very enjoyable time there.
Great flavor on the burger! The chips were crispy and not greasy. The variety of beers is super!!! Came back the next day it was so good.
The burger was fantastic!! The sweet tater tots was delish!!
We have been here several times. The food and drink are excellent. The bartending and wait staff are also very nice and attentive. However, service from the kitchen has been a little slow the last few times we were there. It seems to take a long time (up to 40 mins) from the when the order is put in to when the kitchen actually delivers the food! Other than that - no complaints!
Were going to a show at Soldiers Field and this location was great for dinner...unfortunately the experience was not good. Our service was very poor...slow, forgot our appetizer order and when it finally arrived it was horrible. We ordered the chips and guacamole/cheese and it was so bad. Burger was also just “ok”...expected better.
Everything we tried to order they were out of. Portions were small and not filling. Everything was over priced. Wasn’t worth my time, energy or money going to this place. Manager was also RUDE!
Super cool restaurant located near the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Adler Planetarium. The food was well priced for how large the portions were and how delicious it was! We both had “the” bacon cheeseburger which had the thickest layer of aged cheddar I’ve ever had, delicious! We also had the regular fries, sweet potato tater tots, and the fried pickles. Everything was amazing!! Would definitely go again next time I visit Chicago.
The burgers were OK, but nothing special and way to expensive. Charges for basic hamburger staples such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, barbeque sauce and all the options was too much over the top.
3 beers and two burgers should not have been a $90 meal cost for 2. Sorry but we could have gotten the equivalent at Portillo's for $30.
Everyone working was absolutely amazing! They managed our late, last minute reservation of 7 with ease and skill. Food was excellent and cocktails were great, so reasonably priced and a great spot!
The service and sides are good but the burgers were not great for the price. My bison burger was charred in the outside but pink (like I ordered - medium) on the inside.
Our kids did enjoy the food from the kids menu.
Mother’s Day. Server was phenomenal!!!
Great burgers and a nice vibe. Only suggestion would to be more variety such as salmon for those who are more health conscious
If you love burgers, this is the place to come. Make your own with all your favorite ingredients and you will truly enjoy this joint.Great traditional french fries. They serve late lunch, which is very helpful for travelers. Not always with your watch on sight.
The environment was welcoming and comfortable. The food was good too. I would go back again.
Shout out to Burger Bar for not only good burgers but a great server who made us feel like we were dining in a 5 star restaurant on my brothers birthday.
Great music. Super relaxed vibe. Very welcoming staff and best burger I've had in Chicago
Creative options for burgers, good selection of appetizers. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasty.
One of the best burger places that I’ve been too. Their poutine was delish!!
The food was excellent, the service was great, and the wait was not bad at all. Both burgers at the table were cooked perfectly to order, and overall it was a great experience.
One of the burgers I've ever had! The appetizers were fantastic too. All that said, it was a bit expensive.
Great food! Great service! I will go back the next time I’m in Chicago
Pommes sind leider nicht bei Gerichten dabei, dswg. eher teuer. Schafften es leider nicht separat abzukassieren.
Food was great overall. Service not so much. Waitress kept coming to the table every 3 minutes asking if we were “doing okay” the entire time and asked if we were still working on our meal at least 4 times. I’m guessing her shift was going to end soon and she needed to get us out so she could leave. We paid and she was nowhere to be found right after.
