Burger Bar - South Loop
Burgers are definitely the name of the game at Burger Bar Chicago. Try our original stackers - like the Wild Bill (bison burger with arugula, goat cheese and tomato chutney on a pretzel bun) and our Firehouse (1/2 lb. patty topped with pepper jack, chorizo relish and guajillo aioli) - as well as alternatives like the amazing Veggie Burger or the Turkey BLT. Of course, the beer list will blow your mind too. With a huge, ever changing craft on draft selection and many more in bottles and cans, come enjoy one of the best microbrew selections in Chicago.
And after your meal? How about a delicious shake like our Chocolate 3-Way or our Banana Nutella, which round out your stay just right. See you soon!

Food was great and Gary our server was awesome
Food was flavorless and service was poor. Waiter barely spoke and seemed to have an attitude. Won’t be going back
Service was ok, burgers were terrible. Would not recommend.
The food was average. Burger was dry and truffle fries were cold. Sweet potato fries were very good!! Service was very good too.
We were very impressed with everything. Although we were busy, our waitress was very attentive. The food was brought out by wait staff and they were very personable and provided great service as well. The place had a fun vibe.
Great location for post Bears game dinner. Very popular place!
We were in Chicago from out-of-town and were looking for a place for lunch not too far from our hotel near the convention center. Have to say that service was not great - we were a larger party (7), but the place wasn't packed. We had to wait for our table, there was some confusion as to who the hostess was, and our food did not come out together - there were three trips to bring it all out, and there was about five minutes till everyone got their food. The food (most of us had burgers) was just okay. My medium burger had no pink. Fries weren't worth the calories.
Burgers excellent as you'd expect, but it was as if everything else was forgotten- fries were cold, they were out of the only 2 beers I was interested in and then suggested a beer not at all like what I asked for, and the food took a long time to come out without any acknowledgement.
Great burgers and service! Couldn’t have found a better spot to pop into!
We were a large group and the service was friendly and efficient. It was nice that we could actually talk to each other and not shout, so the place is not too loud which was a pleasant surprise. The food was great!
Great place , great burgers, good drinks, nice atmosphere. Business lunch perfect place
Nice, casual atmosphere, with plenty of options.
Food was great, especially the truffle Parmesan fries and the milkshakes! Service seemed a little slow but they were very accommodating with our 10 person group that was mostly kids.
Burgers were very good. Service was slow, and it was not a busy evening. Casual atmosphere with good food- expect to be there for awhile.
Burgers were amazing. Stacked to perfection. Waitress rarely came to see us as me and my wife were from out of town and had no idea how anything worked. We managed to get them to explain it but seemed like we were being a burden, but once we received the food. No explanation was needed!
Solid burger, boozy milk shake. Not inexpensive but tasty treat.
Waiters need to be faster. Moved to the bar to get served because we were waiting over 10 minutes at the table.
Their food is really good and they also have a great beer menu. Their $11 power veggie burger was the best veggie burger I have ever had and a great deal (includes side). Highly recommend :)
Service and food, once we got what we wanted, was great. The kitchen messed up on the side, and table had no utensils set even though we asked for a salad and etc.
Overall great place before a game, but for finer experience, avoid during happy hour and dinner rush.
The food was incredible, and the service even better!! We were a group of 23 people and the service was as efficient as though we were just 2 people. If I’m ever in Chicago again, Burger Bar is at the top of my “Must Do” list!!
We stopped here due to the close proximity to the Aquarium. The burgers were very good. I think the biggest way they differentiate from thr competetion is in their customization. They also have grass fed/antibiotic free meat. Overall, very good!
Sooooo good! Everything was fantastic. Food was excellent and vibe was fun.
Great burgers! Awesome sweet potato tots! Fabulous fried pickles!
We had a reservation but finished early at the field museum and Burger Bar was able to get us in early. Wonderful food and great service!
Food and service were great! We went to restaurant before show at Northerly Island, and it was perfect! The food was praised by everyone in our party!
Everything was amazing! From the food to the service and even the music was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Food is always excellent, but service wasn't too great on this visit. I still highly recommend the Burger Bar.
Our food was delayed in coming to the table, but we were rewarded with food that tasted very good. Our kids enjoyed their food as well.
Food was great! Service was fairly slow and food delivery took longer than normal. Best Burger and food that I have had in some time.
YUM!!! I had. Veggie burger that was amazing. My hubby had a prime burger with avacodo! We also had the pickle spears with an amazing dipping sauce- I could have drank it lol!!! Great service and tons of beers on tap!! I’m glad we made a reservation, because there was a super long line!
Service was very slow. We waited for fifteen minutes at our table and then had to flag our waitress down. (Her name was Emma) When I did get her attention she was very rude. Another server refused to speak to us when we tried to thank him for bringing our food, and when we tried to ask for napkins he just walked off. Food was just average we had Oreo milkshakes and there were no Oreo's in it. Just two little Oreo's on top of the shake.
A great lunch to start a long day at #LakeShake
Restaurant had good food. Extremely expensive for what you get. Everything is an add on charge. One time visit only...
We visit Chicago a couple times a year from MA. We always go to the Burger Bar in Lincoln Park but this time we tried the one in the loop. We won't make that mistake again. Our server was slow but it wasn't busy. He was MIA for a while and in the meantime, a party of 20 came in putting their order in before ours - you can imagine what that did to our already-longer-than-it-should-have-been waiting time. When we finally got our burgers, they were all over cooked, every one of them. My son asked for medium rare and there was barely any pink, the rest of us received medium-well to well done burgers. We did not complain. We had already waited long enough. The biggest disappointment of all though, was the milk shakes. The shakes in Lincoln Park you can stick your straw into and they are so thick it will stay standing. These shakes were very thin. Chicago Burger Bar is usually a treat for our family. From now on, we'll stick to the one in Lincoln Park.
The burgers taste amazing ... one of the best I’ve ever had. The beet selection was good and the overall experience was great!! I loved how the restaurant can open the big garage doors to allow a nice breeze to blow through the place. Great people watching on the street too!!
Service was excellent, drinks were excellent. Bacon lollipops were excellent. Burgers were good
Love to go on Tuesday.
