1- Valet Parking: Either do it right or don't do it!!!

Called beforehand to make sure there was valet parking. So there was.. We came with my girlfriend all dressed up just to see the knee deep snow on the edge of sidewalk (couldn't park close and open the door) and ankle-deep slushy water right up to the middle of the parking lane (couldn't jump either - like as if we had to!!). AND the (@#**) valet told us just to jump over the water and somehow climb over the pile of snow just to get to the door. I thought he was joking.. nope he did not. He somehow had mental issues for sure.


The funny thing; the next day while walking along St Laurent, the snow was cleaned up - but of course by the municipal contractors - with NO COST to Buonanotte!. Now that's the reason we had to snow-hike!

Get someone, pay him a $100 for God's sake, and don't mess up anyone else's night again.

2- There was a (presumably) "VIP" table where all the buzz was going on. The person which we guessed to be the manager, along with half a dozen waiters/waitresses were flapping around the table like fairies wearing their broadest smiles. Perfect hospitality, I would say. Only if it was equally distributed.

In that situ, we had to wait (exactly) 15 mins just to be informed the wine we selected was not available. That's normal, it may not be. But the "waiting" is not! Esp. when you witness the fast-track service to another table.

3- DJ was OK, nice tunes from the past decades. BUT the music was too loud for supper. We expected the lounge/club ambiance but definitely after eating. We had to communicate literally by shouting at each other (which didn't ease the tension we had due to the ingenious valet).

4- We left after our appetizers and a glass of white wine each! Miserable evening for us, only to be complemented by our man! (The Valet!) while leaving! Once more we had to "Swim/Jump" to the car.

Surprisingly, the food was quite average. I enjoyed looking at the women, they were beautiful and practically wearing nothing. But the food wasn't that great, and there were just a bunch of sleazy guys drooling over them. Our server was absolutely adorable though, and sweet.

Kind of like a Gentleman's club, just as expensive - food was just as mediocre. The food looked great, but lacked flavouring. The venue looked awesome but the ambiance was shallow somehow.

Worth the experience just to say you went though.

The meal I ordered was 22$. I expected to have a lot of pasta in my plate for that price. The taste was good, but after I ate all of it, I felt like I ate an apetizer. Not a meal. And it was the same impression for all my friends. This is why it was quite disapponting.

Not what I expected for having dinner with my husband on vacation. Didn't like the red spotlight in my eyes where I was sitting and not crazy about the low wooden chairs. Chicken was good but surprised to only be served with vegetables and had to buy my potatoe fries separate. Too expensive for what what you get

We had a late dinner there on a Saturday night. You can tell that their focus was on turning into a lounge/club as quickly as possible.

We ordered two apps and a main. The apps were the Calamari and Apple walnut salad. DEFINITELY DO NOT get either. The calamari was some of the worst we had ever eaten. It's only saving grace may have been the home made tartar sauce. The salad was drizzled with a blue cheese dressing that was not good.

For dinner we got the stuffed Tortello pasta. It was stuffed with mushrooms and a variety of things. Highly recommended this dish as it was very flavourful.

I went to Buonanotte during my trip to Montreal for my 30th birthday. Had 6 friends with me. The reservation was for 6 but Buonanotte kindly accommodated an extra person. I included a note asking for a well-positioned table as it was my 30th (because we anticipated staying for the club portion after). The restaurant, again, kindly accommodated us. The food was great and reasonably priced. The club afterwards was fun with bottles again being reasonably priced. There weren't as many people as I expected there to be for a Friday night, but it was still fun.

Went on a recommendation of a friend and wasn't disappointed. The tartar of filet mignon with hazelnuts and the prosciutto platter were delicious. Unfortunately the restaurant was out of many menu items that we were interested in but I suppose that a sign of a popular restaurant. The desert and coffee was equally notable.

My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary we did not realize on Friday and Saturday night it's a club scene the food was fair ,but the service was great and the staff were very friendly it also was very loud . Great for young singles !!!

From the time we walked in to the time we left my group had a great experience! The atmosphere was very energetic and the staff was not only professional and attractive, but extremely friendly, especially considering we were an English speaking group- No language barrier problems!! The pace was a bit slow -but we didnt mind! So if you're in a rush I wouldnt recommend dining here. Enjoy the atmosphere, food and the company while you are there! As for the menu - not really a menu for plain/picky eaters - but I personally enjoyed the selection and the quality. Go and have fun!!!

My girlfriend and I went to Montreal for a girl's weekend. Buonanotte was highly recommended. We sat outside and the service and food were outstanding.

Overall: disappointing after reading all the good reviews. Maybe we caught a bad night. It's kind of odd to complain about the unbelievably slow and erratic service at Buonanotte since when the food finally came we wished they had taken a while longer to prepare it properly. This place is long on atmosphere--a very loud room and very attractive long-legged wait staff--but short on cuisine. The food is unimaginative and prepared as if by rote. This is someone's "idea" of Italian food. But not really Italian food. More like what you'd want airline food to be. Then it would be passable.

I've not previously rated an OT restaurant with good food and service at 2 stars overall, but the whole non-dining experience of dealing with this place left a bad taste. 4 hours before my reservation they call informing me that I only had the table for 2 hours and wouldn't I rather sit on the sidewalk. No. Arriving at the restaurant 10 minutes early, I checked in by name--again refused sidewalk seating--and had a good meal with good service. Afterwards, I looked at my phone and saw the restaurant had called me twice during my >$200 meal. Stopping at the hostess stand on my way out I asked why she had called and the same woman who had seated me said, "You never showed up for your reservation." Then the OT email saying I failed to show up...

I really loved the service, food and ambiance at this restaurant; the wait staff was very attentive. Our waitress didn't miss a beat, my wine glass was always full. But, it was disappointing, we felt a lil rushed...did not give us a chance to order dessert! We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, which I indicated in the reservation, so that made more disappointing. Besides this little oversight, great restaurant.

Favourite restaurant right now. I only started going there because my friends started working there and it's my favourite place, whenever a friend visits buona is the first restaurant I take them to. Amazing food, filet mignon, pasta, shrimps and carpaccio are my favourite as well as the Nutella doughnuts for dessert.
