Met friends early on a Saturday evening. We had visited this restaurant before and returned because we were so impressed. Again, the service was both excellent and friendly. Cocktails were delicious. We ordered their 5 lb. summer lobster special. Excellent!

I didn’t care for the food. It was tasteless . I ordered mussels in a white sauce n I had to add salt for taste, lots of it and I usually don’t salt food. The calamari was chewy n the linguini with white clam sauce was also tasteless.

From the moment we entered Buona Sera, the service was exellent: a fine balance between attentive and providing us time to talk, consider beverages, visit, consider the menu. They responded clearly to our questions and requests. The wait staff did not miss a beat.

The drinks before dinner were satisfying - doing what a cocktail is supposed to do. The appetizers were simply delicious: A fine tomato based sauce dressed tender Mussels. A Sweet Flavor. The Crabmeat appetizer was a fresh, Jersey blue claw crab. Just the right amount.

The entres were for the most part effectively presented: The short ribs with papperdelle pasta were cooked to perfection. The scallops and shrimp prepared to perfection - the right temps. The Red Clam sauce (fresh clams) over penne was delicious, though the gluten free penne was overcooked. a GF pasta requires attention for al dente perfection. Nonetheless, the dish was tasty.

Dessert: The cakes were wonderful. Colorful presentation, Fresh, moist. The Tartufo was sweet and more than enough, and a specially order fruit plate was magnificent. That drew rave reviews from the table.

Buona Sera created a good evening indeed for our company.

It is the most fun restaurant and the food was superb! We live about 1 Mile away but don’t eat there often because the portions are huge! BUT as good as the food is the people watching. It is just a hoot. As for value. Where else can you get a 5 lb lobster cooked to perfection with all of the trimmings for $55. The creme brûlée was gorgeous. Gotta say it is probably the best Italian gourmet anywhere around.

Not bad overall, little pricey for what the food is, nice decor. Monday night was fairly busy and wine bottles were 1/2 price so that was good, but the waiter was a little unwilling to listen to the customers needs and didn't explain the dishes. Appetizers were good. Our party was less than enamored with the waiter. Experience was okay there are so may good places to eat in Red Bank.

extensive menu,excellent quality of food, large portions, makes for a fantastic dining experience! From appetizers to dessert, the options are mouthwatering and delicious. The filet Mignon is one of my favorite main courses, cooked to perfection and accompanied by flavorful mashed potatoes and fresh string beans. The salads are huge and bursting with flavor! Salads featuring items like poached pears and gorgonzola cheese bring surprising flavor to the greens. Dessert is the end to the perfect meal and large portions guarantee you can share. Been coming here for many years and will continue to support this great restaurant.

Do not get the steak. $40 mealy and over cooked. The pasta was just ok. Definitely would not go back. My sons hamburger was very good but the bacon was completely chard to the point that it was disintegrating when you bit into it.

I had quite possibly the best lobster I have ever had. It was tender, sweet and presented mostly out of the shell. I’m impressed and will be back for more. The crab cakes were fantastic and the filet mignonette was perfect.

Had dinner with friends before a show at the Count Basie and we were seated next to the service area so it was a bit noisy and busy. A wedding rehearsal dinner was ongoing in the next room so the initial appetizer service was a bit slow and the other courses came a bit too quickly as a result. The food was very good and the restaurant offered to refrigerate our leftovers (the portions are quite generous) until the show ended. A very thoughtful service we thought. The fried calamari there is really excellent, probably the best we ever had.

We were the only ones in the restaurant. It was 3pm. Which was nice. The food was better last year. My filet mignon was not the best. My wife enjoyed her selection. The waiter was uppity. Once he received his tip he stopped talking to us. I always tip nicely. The waiter didn’t even say good bye. Again we were the only ones in the establishment. Parking was no problem they have a huge lot across the street. We celebrated our wedding reception there years ago so we return every year. We may not return next year.

It was my daughter’s 18th birthday. I asked for a table on the lower floor in the center of the room and they were able to accommodate the request and we had a beautiful spot. The service was impeccable . Our server was polite ,sweet. We never had to wait for anything but she wasn’t at the table constantly either. The entire experience was perfect! My son had the angus strip steak. It was delicious and cooked exactly as ordered. I had tortellini. The prosciutto in the cream sauce was amazing . The tortellini were huge and the cheese inside delectable. To end the night our server brought my daughter fruit with whip cream and a candle for her birthday. Thank you Buena Sera for a perfect evening.

We've been going to this restaurant for the last 20 years and it never disappoints. The food is always well presented, consistent, and delish! The staff is typically top notch. A gem in Red Bank!

We stopped here after pre school graduation and had the 5 pound lobster special! It was delish! The calamari is always outrageous! Never disappoints! It’s our go to celebration venue!

Really enjoy it here. They will modify entree selections if necessary and are very customer service oriented. 5 pound lobsters all summer for $55! Big enough for 2 maybe 4 to share!!

Excellent restaurant! Food and service was terrific. I know it can get loud in there but they put us in the back of the upper room and it was perfect. I like how they offer half and full portions. Even the half portions are plentiful. Will definitely be back.

Slow service, mediocre food for very high prices.
The most awful experience was being charged $3 extra for ice for scotch on the rocks! Disgraceful!!

Tremendous portions and high quality food. Service was outstanding. If you eat there before a show at Count Basie they will refrigerate your leftovers for you to pick up after show. We will be back!!

Even though we made a reservation we were given an awful table, right near the entrance to the room and up against a wall, not much room. Meanwhile there were better tables that remained empty the full 2 hours we were there. The food was delicious and the bottles of wine were half priced.

Excited to go, my girlfriend and I were kind of disappointed when we arrived - and it didn’t stop there. I held the restaurant higher than some others so i was expecting a little more than what we got. We waited to be seated for about 3 minutes, i know that’s nothing, but as an upscale restaurant - someone should be at the entrance greeting customers and showing them to their tables. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and it was delicious, some of the best i’ve had yet. However, reaching the last bunch of them - I encountered plastic bits in about 4 of my rings. I called over the waiter and he told me it was cartilage and walked away, but I was certain it was plastic. Felt and looked like a clear wrapper. So later that night I had asked a friend (who’s a cook) if that’s actually cartilage. It’s not. He said when they cut the frozen packages - it is common to get plastic bits like I got and that most places will tell you it’s cartilage and brush it off. We then got a grilled chicken with potatoes and sausage. It was put on a large plate and served to us right on the table - very nice! And there is always a but. In this case the but would be - he dropped the chicken onto the table and put it back on my girlfriend’s plate and went on his way. That seemed a little unprofessional, but that’s alright. Chicken was a 5/10 - nothing fancy. Sausage was about a 4. The potatoes were quite good, 7/10 along with a good gravy. Portions were great. They served bread with a really light, tasteful butter. My girlfriend had visited the lady’s room and encountered some trouble there. Water and tissue paper all over the floor and an open pack of cigarettes laying there. Just not what you’d expect from an otherwise clean restaurant. For me it was a 1 and done type deal, but that’s alright. Could’ve been an off night, could’ve been not the best place. I don’t hold the restaurant too harsh, but i will unfortunately not be returning. Thanks, have a good one.

The waiter was fantastic! Probably the best person I had but then again I always receive excellent service. The food is phenomenal. Even my fiancé thought it was amazing. Love it there and can’t wait to dine there again.

This is a great restaurant at reasonable price. Only issue was service. Had 515 rez and entree’s were running late. It was a show nite at Basie.

The only item I have a real complaint about is the noise level. We were some what in a corner and the noise created a problem talking.
