Buona Sera's menu is quite extensive, giving you a lot of lunch and dinner options to choose from. Start off with one of the large and flavorful appetizers, then continue to the main course. Entrées at Buona Sera include pasta, veal, choice steaks, chicken, pork chops, various types of ravioli and seafood. Veal chops from this restaurant are some of the most popular dishes on the menu and are worth trying.
Took my wife for her birthday dinner, no kids! Bruschetta and eggplant rollatini for appetizers. Steak and eggplant parmesan for dinner. Sangria and a nice red wine. Meal was completed with creme brulee. EVERYTHING was phenomenal.

We both had the 5lb lobster special. The crack open the shell so it’s about 75% out of the shell and very easy to get in to the meat. You would think it would be tuff but it was tender and delicious. The Calamari was tender and large portions. The Prince Edward mussels were wonderful. The service was the best I ever had there, he did a great job. The desserts were excellent. The drawback is the cost. It’s a bit expensive but very good. They have a bar and parking by valet for $7.00. I hope they keep the lobster special beyond the summer months because we will definitely return for more of the same.
As always we had a fantastic dinner at Buona Sera. The lobster special is not to be missed. Can't wait to go back!
Clams casino was great. The lobster in the Zuppa di Pesce was way too overcooked that it wasn't even enjoyable. The scallops though were cooked perfectly. Our waiter was not very attentive and we had to hunt him down multiple times to order dessert, pay the check etc.
I ordered the Zuppa de Pesci. For $37 there were three shrimp a few mussels and clams and two scallops. The piece of lobster was all dried out. But the thing that bothered me most was that it was 90% calamari which was like rubber. The waiter was nice enough to bring me out some more clams. We have been there many times before and if we ever come back I will know to order something else

Great food, great people. Buona Sera never disappoints. Christine had the lamb chops special and loved it. I had the 20 oz sirloin, cooked a perfect medium rare. Well done Chris and Danielle, as usual.

The menu was a little small and we were there for lunch so that could account for this. Nice bar area and close to the small theater. Service was a little slow. The waiter explained that they were understaffed for the day due to the summer lunch.
Some nice selections with a few interesting pasta's as well as a few meat dishes. The place was quiet but we were there for lunch and there were only a few tables and not sure how this would affect the noise at dinner. However, would plan to try dinner and see if the selections improve.

The service was perfect as always. The staff here are always so great. But our dinner - specifically our steaks - were just badly overcooked. Ordered medium rare, but they came out medium well to well done. This is the second time in a row I've had this happen at Buona Sera. I'll be taking a break.

We have eaten here over the many years they have been open.. Food has always been delicious. This last time, though, the food was OUTSTANDING! Large, generous portions and top notch Filet Mignon, U8 size scallop entrée and stuffed swordfish with crab meat. We all took a taste of each others entrees and we were WOWED by the taste and quality of the food. Thank you, Buona Sera for a wonderful evening with my husband and mom! We loved it!

Met friends early on a Saturday evening. We had visited this restaurant before and returned because we were so impressed. Again, the service was both excellent and friendly. Cocktails were delicious. We ordered their 5 lb. summer lobster special. Excellent!

I didn’t care for the food. It was tasteless . I ordered mussels in a white sauce n I had to add salt for taste, lots of it and I usually don’t salt food. The calamari was chewy n the linguini with white clam sauce was also tasteless.
From the moment we entered Buona Sera, the service was exellent: a fine balance between attentive and providing us time to talk, consider beverages, visit, consider the menu. They responded clearly to our questions and requests. The wait staff did not miss a beat.
The drinks before dinner were satisfying - doing what a cocktail is supposed to do. The appetizers were simply delicious: A fine tomato based sauce dressed tender Mussels. A Sweet Flavor. The Crabmeat appetizer was a fresh, Jersey blue claw crab. Just the right amount.
The entres were for the most part effectively presented: The short ribs with papperdelle pasta were cooked to perfection. The scallops and shrimp prepared to perfection - the right temps. The Red Clam sauce (fresh clams) over penne was delicious, though the gluten free penne was overcooked. a GF pasta requires attention for al dente perfection. Nonetheless, the dish was tasty.
Dessert: The cakes were wonderful. Colorful presentation, Fresh, moist. The Tartufo was sweet and more than enough, and a specially order fruit plate was magnificent. That drew rave reviews from the table.
Buona Sera created a good evening indeed for our company.

It is the most fun restaurant and the food was superb! We live about 1 Mile away but don’t eat there often because the portions are huge! BUT as good as the food is the people watching. It is just a hoot. As for value. Where else can you get a 5 lb lobster cooked to perfection with all of the trimmings for $55. The creme brûlée was gorgeous. Gotta say it is probably the best Italian gourmet anywhere around.

Not bad overall, little pricey for what the food is, nice decor. Monday night was fairly busy and wine bottles were 1/2 price so that was good, but the waiter was a little unwilling to listen to the customers needs and didn't explain the dishes. Appetizers were good. Our party was less than enamored with the waiter. Experience was okay there are so may good places to eat in Red Bank.

The filet Mignon is one of my favorite main courses, cooked to perfection and accompanied by flavorful mashed potatoes and fresh string beans. The salads are huge and bursting with flavor! Salads featuring items like poached pears and gorgonzola cheese bring surprising flavor to the greens. Dessert is the end to the perfect meal and large portions guarantee you can share. Been coming here for many years and will continue to support this great restaurant.
Do not get the steak. $40 mealy and over cooked. The pasta was just ok. Definitely would not go back. My sons hamburger was very good but the bacon was completely chard to the point that it was disintegrating when you bit into it.

I had quite possibly the best lobster I have ever had. It was tender, sweet and presented mostly out of the shell. I’m impressed and will be back for more. The crab cakes were fantastic and the filet mignonette was perfect.
