Bullfinchs Ratings and Reviews
I enjoyed the dining experience. My husband and I arrived right at 5pm when it opened. We were seated right away and service was prompt, courteous and pleasant. I ordered the vegetable dumplings for an appetizer and also for the meal with a salad. My husband ordered a stuffed sole which he enjoyed. While they do offer a vegetarian menu, they don't offer a vegan entree which I would have appreciated. Otherwise I don't have any complaints and I would certainly recommend this establishment.
Upon arrival, my wife and I were ushered to a table in a busy location. After requesting a table change to a more comfortable area, the staff promptly accommodated us. Our waitress was excellent as was the food and wine. Been many times and will be going back.
A special Valentine dinner in a restaurant decked out for the occasion. The entire restaurant ceiling was covered with red and pink balloons. Tables were adorned with candles illuminated in pink light. It was lovely. Food & service is always superb & even with the crazy busy night, Bullfinchs did not disappoint 💕
Going to Bullfinchs was the best Valentines treat would could hope for. The atmosphere was delightful with huge red and pink balloons covering the entire ceiling with red ribbons flowing down. The music was low and set the right mood. The serving staff gave an elegant presentation and where especially nice. Excellent choice of dishes, beautifully cooked and presented. Will be going to their brunch next and we can't wait!
exceeded expectations!! it was my friends birthday and the Balloon and confetti on the table really made her day- all the food was delicious and came out quickly. thank you for a lovely day. My husband thought the portion for the salmon potato waffle was too small though (but delicious!)
Our third time at Bullfinch's and second time with Tim as our server and we were, as always, very pleased with the service, the food and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Loved the Pinot Noir flight featuring the Oregon vineyards - definitely some new wines to enjoy. The goat cheese truffle fries were so yummy. My tuna was seared perfectly and my husband's filet was delicious. Looking forward to another date night out at Bullfinch's.
We thoroughly enjoyed a birthday dinner at Bullfinchs. The management kindly provided a giant helium balloon and delicious molten chocolate cake with ice cream. Service was pleasant and efficient. Serving sizes were generous. I understand that there's live music at Sunday brunch. An altogether enjoyable experience.
We had a birthday celebration for an older member of our family during their "jazz" brunch. There was a range of ages and tastes in our larger party & we were all very happy with the menu offerings & our choices. The food was very delicious and very fresh. There was one mixup in the food we special ordered but it was taken care of quickly & efficiently. I was impressed with our waitress and her handling of the situation. Very professional. By the way, the entire waitstaff there was extremely pleasant, from the person who sat us, the person who filled our water glasses & the person who waited on us. Overall, we were very happy & would return again.
Went to Bullfinchs for a special birthday occasion. The table was decorated with birthday trinkets and large balloon. In the end the waitress brought out a brownie with Ice cream and whip cream and a candle. A chance to sing happy birthday. They went above and beyond the call. Great appreciated. The food and ambiance were excellent. A very enjoyable day.
We had a lovely meal with friends. Food was very good and service was excellent. It was a little noisy when we started, but quieted down as the evening went on. Although we stayed well past closing time, the staff remained friendly and told us not to rush and to stay as long as we wanted.
We are never disappointed with our experiences when dining at Bullfinchs. The dishes are delicious and are prepared very creatively with very fresh ingredients. Service is always warm and friendly. This is a wonderful restaurant for celebrating a special event or sharing a romantic evening.
Very good brunch with my kids and in-laws. The food was outstanding. The service was mixed. We mostly had breakfast meals with waffles, hash special, bagel and salmon, eggs Benedict, eggs and sausage and breakfast burger. All very good. The service was good at start but there was no follow-up with our glasses remaining empty and our credit card sitting for 10-15 minutes. We weren’t in a hurry but it was a little annoying.
Overall, it was very nice. It was our anniversary and there were nice little touches that helped to make it special. I enjoyed the crab cakes and the salad. Our entrees were good, but I found the lamb chops to be lacking in flavor and not trimmed well-the bites of fat were not pleasing. More herbs or something else to bring them to life would have been appreciated. They were sitting on a bed of smashed potatoes (I’m not a fan of the current trend of food piles). I had to remove the chops and set them to the side to add some salt and pepper to the spuds which like the chops were pretty bland, just like the white sauce that was on top of the whole pile—which I would rather have done without. The roasted vegetables were very good. Again, a pleasant experience, but for a $125 meal I had hoped for better food.
We've been to Bullfinch's many times over the year. I like that they're individually owned and have a cozy space. On this occasion, the food was disappointing. There were 4 of us. 2 of us got the filet, which they also had a filet on special so I was surprised to get a tough and non-flavorful piece of meat for $34. I had asked to substitute the "crashed potatoes" that come with everything and that did not happen. I don't get the 'crashed potatoes" because its not the cheesecake factory in the 90's. The others said their meals were bland. We usually enjoy their salads which have nice variety of beets or apples and again just ok. It was a friend's bday and a $300 bill that was not worth it. With all the new restaurants coming to Sudbury, I don't want to see Bullfinch's go so I write this saying quality and consistency needs to be a focus for the prices charged
One of favorite - if not the best - restaurant in Metro West Boston.
GREAT staff - make you feel like family - amazing food - never disappoints.
Good selection of cocktails - great flavors, interesting blends.
Wonderful Sunday brunch with live jazz....
Unfortunately on New Year's Eve the food was not a hit. We've loved Bullfinches before, but on New Year's Eve the food was really mediocre, but with nice service it was still a festive atmosphere. Hopefully the lackluster Beef Wellington and osso bucco will be replaced with better offerings going forward.
I always give Bullfinch's five stars but this time I didn't. It is clearly one of my favorite restaurants and we definitely will go back. This time it was New Year's Eve, so I have to cut them some slack, it's the proverbial "amateur night out." So Bullfinch's was a bit overwhelmed by too many people. We had a reservation for 7:45, had to wait fifteen minutes to be seated. Things we hectic. I don't know what they can do. More carefully manage bookings? I'm sure next time we'll be right back to five stars on all counts.
