In an area where there are limited REALLY good dining options, Bullfinch’s always delivers. Consistently delicious food, attentive service, and warm ambiance. Hadn’t been in a while - glad I was reminded of quality.

Bullfinchs still turns out reliably tasty plates, but the experience left me lukewarm overall. Most dishes were well-executed - tender braises, creamy polenta, buttery mashed potatoes - but the lineup felt more November than May. On a rainy night, the hearty, comfort-food menu might have felt fitting, but with summer just around the corner, I was hoping for something fresher and more seasonal. Service was polite yet distant. Our server smiled, but avoided eye contact when gliding past, to a point where my wife had to get up from the table to request some salt and pepper. Timing was also off: entrées hit the table only a couple of minutes after our appetizer. She apologized, saying she’d keyed the order wrong, but that meant we had to juggle crowded plates and watch hot mains cool while we finished our starter. Credit where it’s due - the dining room has a warm, inviting vibe that’s perfect for a relaxed night out. With a fresher menu and sharper pacing, Bullfinchs could easily pull another star out of me.

Good food and ambience. They also managed to accommodate a last minute addition, which was greatly appreciated.

Bullfinch's has become our go-to restaurant for a very nice meal out, such as my son's celebratory dinner for graduating college or my birthday (the latest visit). Although the menu isn't large, constantly changing, or "trendy," we love the entrees and the appetizers (and there are daily specials). And for dessert -- we always get the sampler of four desserts: pavlova (lemon curd with raspberry sauce and meringues), creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and warm apple crisp a la mode. But the biggest reason that we choose Bullfinch's time and again is that most of the menu is gluten free (I have a serious gluten allergy and limit my restaurants to those that are serious about handling it). If you or a loved one know the struggle to find someplace safe to eat, you'll appreciate the variety of choices at Bullfinch's, including the desserts (I remember the days when all I could get if I asked was a bowl of fresh fruit; nice but not quite the same as chocolate mousse, which is by its nature gluten free as long as the ingredients aren't contaminated).

In a world of cookie cutter restaurants in echoing new construction, Bullfinches is a great find for excellent food and ambiance. I recommend it to everyone! d

We make these comments respectfully . All in all a good experience, with this one exception. We have to agree with an earlier reviewer who spoke of the tuna…disappointing and this was the main course for a couple of us. The tuna was difficult to cut, quite firm in texture, connective tissue. Other appetizers and entrees were enjoyed. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable.
