Bulla Gastrobar - Charlotte
Named after the Spanish slang term for “chatter,” Bulla Gastrobar offers a menu that boasts a mix of “alta cocina” and traditional approaches to tapas, featuring innovative techniques that are applied to classic recipes to yield modern yet authentic dishes.
Fantastic food and exemplary customer service! Those who enjoy great good have to go there. I plan on returning to try other items on the menu. Everything was fresh, superbly prepared, and personally served to make us feel as if we were the only ones dining, but we were not.
One of the best dining experiences I ever had and I have dined in great restuarant throughout the USA.
Great place for small plates and minosas with friends!
Great meal and service.
This is ur 5 th time to Bulla. We always have a good experience. The food was great. We’ll be back!
Grant is awesome he deserves a promotion 👌🏽
The food was great. Our server was personable & knowledgeable. We did not feel rushed at all. A wonderful evening!
One of my favorite places in south Charlotte. I tried it one night due to an extremely long wait at a popular place next door. Great atmosphere and a super nice staff. They make wonderfully recommendations for food and wine. I have always gone with at least one of there suggestions and have never been disappointed. I love sitting outdoors when it's not too hot but inside is great as well. The starters and tapas options are all superb. My favorite are the grilled shrimp, skewers and tuna tar tar. Great place for a date, an outing with friends or to just grab a drink after a tough day on the job. Quiet enough to have a good conversation but enough ambient noise to feel like you're in a popular spot. Easily top 5 in Southpark for me and will continue to go.
Food is great, service needs work (initially no utensils, wine but no wine glasses)
Food was and is always consistently excellent. Truly a cut above the rest; however, the wait staff is consistently misses the mark everytime. I think my waiter came to our table a total of two times. He also forgot to bring our high chair after we asked several times. The very pregnant hostess ended up getting it for us. He was terrible (not even rude just terrible and inattentive). The manager did however try and make it right by apologizing comping a portion of our meal.
I eat there several times a month for either dinner or lunch. It's always a treat! Service is great and the atmosphere is really nice. The bar and outside seating areas are fun. My favorite drink is the white sangria (ask for a spoon to get all the berries at the bottom!) All the tapas plates are delicious and come out hot! Sometimes I don't like to share!!
My wife and I had a great time at this restaurant. It is fun and energetic, the food was colorful and flavorful (try the ceviche!) and the service was on point. Looking forward to going again!
Both foods and customer service are awesome. Kudos to the management team and everyone!
We had a great anniversary and our server Robert was fantastic. He explained the menu and recommended lots of wonderful things. Hey made our anniversary super special with his hospitality, sweet treats and a card with a gift card. It was wonderful!
Just great!! Food, service loved it!! Beautiful atmosphere.
Food was not up to par except for the ceviche, and the music was inappropriate as it was not Spanish music but rather Latin American dance music.
Good quality food and cooking.
The food was delicious! We tried several tapas (“pork sliders”, steak and octopus) and a chocolate dessert - all of which were amazing and make me want to go back. We had a very friendly and helpful waitress named Grace. I will definitely be going back but will save it for a special occasion just because the tapas can add up. Worth it for a a solid date night / nice occasion/ group dining experience
We sat outside. Our server was great and the food was delicious. Save room for the churros with chocolate. Fun night!
Great service. Great price. Good time.
Best value for restaurant week. Food was amazing and the service was terrific.
Not much Spanish feel to the place , a little too loud, and initial slow service... I also would have preferred all 8 tapas served together but overall- very good.
I loved everything about this restaurant. Tapas and Spanish food in general are my favorite things and Bulla did not disappoint. The restaurant week menu was great and it was kind of fun to be able to add in a couple of extra things too. The sangria and other wine we got were also great. The service was fantastic and it was a nice touch for the owner/manager to come check on all of the guests during the meal. Our main meal took a little longer than they anticipated getting out, but we got an extra tapa for the wait (which wasn't bad and more or less planned for anyway). it was awesome. The only negative was the calamari.
One of my favorite places in Southpark. A while back, the line was too long at a well known adjacent restaurant, so we opted to try out Bulla. We sat outside which was a great location with many tables that are hidden from the other restaurant. Lively but respectful crowd. Mostly dates, girlfriends and small parties. Kids were at a minimum, so this is a great place to meet up for drinks and tapas. I've yet to have a bad server, with some going above an beyond. Their wine knowledge is exceptional and they provide great information about the dishes. I absolutely LOVE their sangria, wine selection and the tapas. I've yet to have a bad offering at Bulla and I try to order something different every time. Parking can be a little tight but given this is next to the mall and residential living, it's to be expected. Park on the mall side, and you're fine. Book reservations online because as people have realized what an amazing place this is, more people are going. Super friendly hostesses will greet you and help you with your table. The bar area is great and right next to the outdoor seating area. Wonder bartenders and they don't skimp on the pours. Very well priced for the quality of food. Highly recommend!!
Bulla has a fantastic patio, consistently great food and the best sangria available in Charlotte. Service was impeccable.
Very nice lunch experience. Food is very good and the tapas portions are the perfect size to share. Service was good. Food was delivered hot and as they were prepared (a plus in my book).
We had the Potato Tortilla, the Montaditos and very fresh, tasty kale Caesar salad. All were delicious! The lunch crowd consisted mainly of business people and other small groups of diners. Atmosphere sophisticated-casual, not stuffy.
Excellent service and great food! I have tried so many different Spanish restaurants all over the country and Bulla Gastrobar absolutely gets my vote. The Gazpacho, the lemitil soup and salads, the burgers, the grilled chicken and the certainly the flan. Shout out to James for being a great host!
The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Great cocktails.
Awesome experience and amazing patio
It was exceptional. We went for Queens Feast and will go back.
This was our second visit to Bulla Gastrobar and it didn’t disappoint. We had a bigger meal, part of restaurant week, and it was all delicious. We like the tapas, too and the charcuterie choices. Our servers were especially good, some of the best we’ve had in Charlotte. Shout out to Josue and Alexis!
First time, and took advantage of the restaurant week menu. Our time started really strong with an amazing first and second course. All three people had average entrees and the dessert were disappointing. The bread pudding just seemed to not be fresh, and had a strong flavor that wasn’t appetizing. The guest who order churros found a large hair wrapped around one. It took over an hour to get our desserts between the entree course, and when our waiter finally came to ask if we were ready for our checks, never asked how our meal was, or anything about the uneaten deserts. At first I would have definitely gone back, but after the second half of our experience I doubt that I would.
Good food, nice atmosphere and portions seemed to be just right.
Promised much but under delivered in terms of food quality and taste.
Calamari was over cooked and rubbery as was the chicken paella. Enjoyed the croquettes and tuna.
Love this place. The tapas never disappoint, my favorite are the huevos Bulla (an upgraded version of huevos rotos) the restaurant always has a good environment and no crazy waitlists. Love going here with friends :)
Restaurant week is always challenging. The service however was top notch! Our waitperson Danielle was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The first course (dates & croquettes) was delicious. The second (chicken curry and cannelloni) I’d advise against, especially the curry, it was not good meat and pretty flavorless. The dessert (churros) was tasty. It’s kind of loud but fun atmosphere. I’d maybe try again another time.
Great food and awesome service
This is a well appointed restaurant with excellent service and consistently outstanding food. Since I have dined here many times, always bringing others with me, the chef's have been gracious about preparing my favorite dishes that are not on the lunch menu. It is perfect for small and large groups and indoor and outdoor dining.
It did not disappoint from beginning to end. Out waiter provided great service and a delight to talk to. The combination of flavors were complimentary of each other! The Sangria was refreshing!
