   Snuck in an early dinner on Valentine's Day at BUL. Service was kind, the food was heavenly, the portion sizes were awesome (the small plates were not small), Can't wait til I can get over there again!

   I usually don't write reviews because I work as a server and normally find restaurants reviews to be overly critical and self indulgent. However, when I saw the email from OpenTable asking "How was Bul?" I just had to write something to simply convey that my server was inattentive and not present. Multiple times, I had to leave the table after we were sat by the hostess to place orders for food and drinks. For some reason he would not visit the table to check on us or just stop by to ask if we wanted more food or drinks when we are all sitting there with empty glasses & cleared plates. For my brother's birthday we initially planned to stay a lot longer and spend more money but felt it'd be best to leave since I've gotten up from the table so many times to place orders. Now, I'm increasingly patient with servers because I understand the struggle, but If I'm trying to get your attention multiple times at different stages during the meal to place orders, AND after multiple unsuccessful attempts of trying to get your attention I end up having to walk to the bar to get your attention and order, AND this happens not just once then there's obviously a problem with his idea of service! Now you would think he would receive a terrible tip for his demonstrated terrible service, but like i said, I am patient and sympathetic so he did not receive a bad tip (I am also black and didn't want to be stereotyped as a bad tipper which is a judgement most servers are quick to make!!). Though I do not know his name, I want that server ( medium height, dark framed glasses, small beanie, loves standing behind the bar) to know that his tip was a GIFT and did not correlate to his quality of service at all. I will be back because the food was undeniably great and there's so much left on the menu to try! But I will not be sympathetic next time to any server who basically rather me do their job for them.

   The food was awesome. Highly recommend the bulgogi dolsot. Nice little place with some balcony seating so you can look out over the rest of the restaurant (and catch every great smell coming from the kitchen). My girlfriend and I will definitely be returning.

   The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The HH goes until 7 and makes some of the apps plain cheap. The squid legs and the KFC (spicy - although not too spicy) were the highlights, but everything else we tried was quite enjoyable as well. We will definitely be back.

   Although it's not the most authentic Korean food, the food tastes good (not spicy enough), and the service is fantastic. I'd recommend going early as the place fills up quickly after 7pm.

   I made a reservation at BUL for Friday night. When I arrived and told the host I had a reservation, he replied that they don't take reservations for Fridays. I told him I made the reservation on OpenTable, which the host ignored. Plenty of other service problems, and some cold food to boot. But this place has promise, if they can get their act together. I'd wait and see before going back.

   I was really excited about coming here since there aren't very many modern Korean restaurants offering mostly traditional Korean food. I made a reservation at the restaurant two weeks ahead of time for a big birthday dinner. I should've known what would happen when I first walked in. It took at least a full minute for any waitstaff to notice us and no one asked if we had been helped. I had to finally flag a hurried waitress down and tell them I was here for my reservation. They were only able to get my table together once another group of people left. As for the food and drinks, things are pretty pricy - the food tastes solid but authentic Korean food does not have to cost that much (especially without banchan). The service was terrible and with the food being mediocre but not amazing, I don't think I'll be coming back. The waitstaff got the order wrong from one of my friends and instead of getting a rush order on the correct entree, they tried to make up for the problem by offering him the wrong entree they brought out. Most of my group had finished eating and his food STILL hadn't come out. I had to bring this to the attention of the bartender/manager(?) before anything more was done about this . That's ridiculous. A small appetizer should've been offered to my friend if the wait was going to be that long and/or the kitchen should've been made aware that they needed to make his correct dish a priority. We also previously agreed on splitting the large bill by table and instead, she provided us the entire bill because of "how the food was brought out".

   The food was great as always. Unfortunately they threw a waitress to the wolves a bit too soon. She was very nice, and wanted to give great service, but she was not experienced enough to handle a Saturday night rush. She needed to work a few more slow night shifts to get the hang of the food and the computer system. I think she would have been okay if she was being given more backup, but that is hard to do on a busy night. Once she gets the hang of the place she will be quite a good waitress. She was very nice and genuine as a person.
