Dad's Day (also BD) weekend 2019. Wife and I traveled east from coast to meet up w/ daughter traveling south from Seattle for lunch at Budd Bay Cafe. From past visits, the ambiance is agreeable maritime and the cioppino incomparable ambrosia. However, this visit was a disappointment. The cioppino quality and quantity was deficient. The meager seafood was overcooked, the tomato broth consistency a paste, and veggies nonexistent. The wife's cocoanut prawns were ultra crisp and chewy, the texture of jerky. The crab cakes too were over done and more crumb than crab. However, it was tasty. BBC is also the new management for the Oyster House. Perhaps that is where the kitchen talent relocated? I cannot recommend BBC nor do I intend to return.

We took my Mom for breakfast. The menu was great, we felt good prcies. They had trouble getting our order right, but fixed it right away. We ALL enjoyed our food "Bisquits & Gravy", "Sailor on Board" (be hungry) and "Marinated Flank Steak & Eggs". We'll be back! HIGHLY recommend the place...parking too (dwontown parking CAN be an issue-NOT here!),.

The food was great, the service was friendly if a bit on the slow side(we had a new waitress). All in all a good place for a meal.

Expensive--good for buffet food, but it's still buffet food. Lots of options for everyone.

We were grateful we had a reservation because this place was PACKED on a Thursday. We considered that a good sign. We loved the menu and the range of prices. The affordable house red I ordered was delicious. I got the feeling they were short staffed, because the service was a little slow and we went fifteen minutes from ordering drinks to receiving them. It picked up after that. My husband ordered a burger well done but it was very pink. His fries were delicious. We had somewhere to be and they did get a new burger cooked properly in time, that was much appreciated. I had the tacos with tuna and I could not believe how much I loved them. It takes some skill in the kitchen (and good product) to get the tuna nice and charred and well cooked for a taco without destroying it. They did a fantastic job with this. While a couple of the snags could have been dealbreakers, I have to say what was good about this meal was so very good. The casual atmosphere, the ability to spend or a little or treat yourself, the lively atmosphere and view are worth giving this place another shot, no doubt about it.

We had a yummy Easter brunch -- the variety of food was amazing, and all that we sampled was delicious. The scalloped potatoes with bacon were wonderful, the prime rib was perfectly done, and the desserts were exceptional.

Cafe is a short walk from the Olympia Doubletree, and the Cafe offers guests a discount that we tried for a Thursday dinner. No St Patties Day items at all. Place felt hectic, loud, busy at 6pm, the time of our rez. We had to wait about 10 min to be seated. Service OK but not great. Seemed like they had too many tables to keep track of. Good selection of food items, generally well presented. Prices moderate for the quality. Nice desert selection. We will try again, maybe when not quite as busy.
