We were visiting Montana for the first time this week, and visited Buck's T4 for my birthday. The restaurant has a charming ambiance and our server, Pierce, did an excellent job. My wife had a steak salad, and was very pleased. Since the restaurant was out of ribeye, I ordered the NY Strip. It was cooked perfectly and I was surprised how tender the steak was - usually a NY Strip can be pretty tough. All in all, it was a low key, chill, lovely evening.

Have had dinner at Buck’s many times over the past 25 years or so. Found our dinner last night to be overall somewhat underwhelming in comparison to previous visits. Food: wedge salad dressing over spiced and too much of it. NO bread service with meal … what?!!, prices up … Service: Noah was personable but was absent a lot for this small dining room. Value just isn’t what it used to be, experience disappointing.

We wanted so badly to have enjoyed this place, as the reviews seemed good. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. From the poorly cooked steaks, the black cod dish that smelled old on arrival, and the ridiculous obnoxious table sitting behind us that the waiter seemed to cater to through the entire meal. Don’t believe the fine dining claim. It is definitely far from it aside from the price.

We have been going to Bucks T-4 for decades. This was the most disappointing experience. The cocktail tasted like cough syrup with bad purple coloring—I was told they no longer used 44 North huckleberry vodka and there weren’t any huckleberries in the glass because they were last years and frozen. The chicken wings were so sry, we had one and that was it. The whole dinner continued in this fashion. I was crushed. It was awful. It went from one of my favs for many years to I’m not going back.

This steakhouse is good, not great. The bison steak was cooked to perfection, a couple of the other steaks were overcooked. Consistency could be improved from the kitchen. The menu is great and has a little bit of everything to offer. Overall the restaurant seems to be resting on it's history, instead of moving the restaurant on into the future. None of the machines in the game room worked and the change machine was out of order too. Odd. Refresh almost everything, it's time and it's needed.

Our hostess Hailey was fantastic! Initially the table we were seated at was less than adequate. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and we’re looking for a more intimate table. The hostess quickly developed a solution and seated us in another area of the restaurant. She then took care of us personally. She went out of her way to make our evening one of our most memorable experiences. We requested an off menu item to recreate the meal we had two nights before our wedding. She checked with the chef and they made it happen. Her kindness an personal attention truly made it a wonderful evening. It was so refreshing to see the level of service Hailey provided. Thank you so much!

It is not the same restaurant that I remember from the past. Menu looked good but the ribeye was overcooked, the black cod was undercooked and tasteless. Our waiter was not the caliber we expected for fine dining. Overall we were very disappointed with the quality of food and service. We’ve been dining at Bucks for 20 years when visiting Big Sky. However, we won’t be returning anytime soon.

Food was not up to expectations -- would have liked more bison options (filet, etc.) . The shaved prime rib was very good, but the menu should mention that there is bread involved, actually a beef sandwich. The bison short ribs and bison pot pie were tasty, but didn't have as many veggies as we expected. Our waitress (Claire, I think?) was excellent.

We got married at Bucks 7 years ago so went to have our anniversary dinner last night. We used to love the ambiance, service, menu selection, steaks, pheasant quesadillas, Russian cream dessert, their house salad with the cherry vinaigrette. Walked in before our reservation and was greeted awkwardly with the manager micro-managing the hostess. It seemed as if they weren’t prepared for reservations. Service was ok. No manager check ins at our table, my husbands steak had no flavor and his garlic mashed potatoes were even more bland. My pasta dish was ok. We did enjoy the steak bites appetizers. We were so disappointed overall and just sad since it was our favorite spot. So sad.

Our waitress was nice and friendly but was totally in the weeds! It took forever to receive EACH course. Bar staff needs a refresher course! They didn’t know how to make a Shirley temple or homemade sangria (wine, fruit juice, splash of cognac). The steak and lamb chops were good but the chicken was terrible. Had no grill marks and looked like a frozen Patty. Atmosphere was good, restaurant and restrooms were clean. A 3 out of 5. I said yes to the below but I would tell them about my experience and let them decide.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience earlier this evening. We were seated immediately, which was great, from that point on it was downhill. The server did not know the food or drink menu and confused what we ordered multiple times. Cabernet was confused with Chardonnay, the steelhead entree was confused with the appetizer, two orders of pot pies, no pot pies in stock, audibled to steaks and wine, both were ordered at the same time. Food was served, no steak knives were allocated, wine didn’t arrive until we were nearly finished. We discussed the confusion with the manager and never saw him again. We paid, tipped well, and left. We will not return and recommend anyone wishing to dine there in the summer months find another option.

The food was good. The menu was totally different that was posted on the open table website. Bucks T4 advertises themselves as a wild game steakhouse. I went there for the Bison Ribeye. The only wild game that was on the menu when we got there was a bison burger. Very disappointed that the menu that in online, is not the same as what their actual menu is.

Peirce was our server and he was very kind and helpful. We had the Shrimp Toast and Putine as apps and they were so very good. The Putine was amazing! My boyfriend and I had the Top Sirloin and the Ribeye and they were cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. We finished off our dinner with the skillet cookie and it took a lot of will power to put my spoon down.

Outstanding experience. We celebrated my father's 80th birthday and Pierce made it special. He was knowledgeable about the menu and wines. His recommendations were perfect. I expected the bill to be higher because of all the delicious food and drinks so the prices are reasonable.
