The team of talented chefs at Buckland Manor work tirelessly to create mouth-watering menus that are English at their core and stay true to location, whilst remaining innovative and modern.

Menus feature fresh local produce from the neighbouring Vale of Evesham, affectionately known as the market garden of England. Fresh herbs are grown in the Manor’s own grounds and, as you would expect in a house of this heritage, there is a magnificent wine cellar.

Please note: the dress code for dinner and Sunday lunch is smart casual and we ask that gentlemen wear a jacket in the dining room.

This was the first time we have visited Buckland Manor since it was aquired by the Brownswood family & wasn't disappointed. Gidleigh Park was our local for many years when we lived in Chagford where the food was exceptional & the service usually good but I always felt we had to be on our "best behaviour". It is very different at Buckland Court where the enthusiastic team are inviting you into their home & there are many sofas to flop down onto & relax. The above average quality of food served from an acceptably small menu can be accompanied by something from an interesting wine list including many by the glass, carafe or bottle if driving or on a restricted budget. The chef easily accommodated any dietary requirements by changes where necessary including diabetic sensitive or Gluten Free in my case. However it is in the main restaurant where the team were especially helpful led by the Italian sommelier who allowed us to dine at our own "snail speed" pace on a beautiful spring Saturday so we could view the beautifully presented gardens. WELL DONE!!! we hope to return in the near future.

A pleasant afternoon tea in the opulent surroundings of the comfortable country mansion lounge. The welcome and service were good. The sandwiches and cakes were enjoyable, the sausage rolls greasy. Good choice of teas. The only slight downside was noise emanating from the nearby kitchen as staff clattered about, presumably preparing for dinner service lter.

Our food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The service was cheerful and professional. It was a chilly evening and we would have appreciated if the open fire had been lit in the reception room. The dining room lacked atmosphere but we cannot fault the meal.

I took a dear friend who was 88 years old, she had never been before. This was a treat for her. The gardens were beautiful so pretty and peaceful. Although it was very expensive we botched loved it.

Excellent Sunday lunch, everything was cooked and presented well. Choice may have been a little limited but that did not detract from the quality of what was presented.

Overall an enjoyable meal but small improvements would increase the stars. The initial champagne was not properly chilled and vegetables were warm rather than hot.

Lunch was beautifully presented on all 3 courses. However, despite informing team prior to booking & on arrival that No Fish for both of us, amuse bouche came with cods roe. Roast Beef was delightful but the gravy very watery Ordered pancetta for dessert & was served Rhubarb selection - very tasty but not what I had ordered. Maybe team need to listen to customer more!
