I'm originally from Mill Valley. I have always loved this restaurant throughout the many changes in ownership. The now Buckeye Road House is superb. Always. Fabulous service and absolutely creative and interestly delicious selections. The only downside was a very stiff, snippy English bartender....so arragant, has no idea what good customer service is. I ordered a Ramos Fizz because this part of Marin is known for them. The bartender fussed that he didn't think he had the ingredients, then pulled out a tupperware concoction from his refrigerator, gave it a few shakes, poured it into a glass, threw an orange slice in it and pushed it to me with distain. And it was disgusting. I took 2 sips and that was it. I will go back to the Road House because the food and restaurant wait service is excellent, but won't step into the bar again if that pompous bartender is anywhere in sight.

the Buckeye is a class act. When you enter you know you will dine well. And you certainly do. A wonderful menu and the best way I can describe it is its a "comfort food" heaven. Brisket, great steaks and chicken, excellent side dishes (I love the onion strings and the crisp polenta sticks.) I had the liver with onions, bacon and mashed potatoes. The liver is organic and it was cooked the way I like it-medium rare. And a very substantial portion. The service is as good as the food. Not obtrusive but always there when you need something. I can't wait to go back!

Most downstairs seating has a view of vegetation and noise is lively, not intolerable. Service excellent, drinks a good pour (try their special ones, mojito, manhattan, margaritas). We had (our favorites) their signature brick chicken and ribs, and took a good portion home. This was finished with a key lime meringue pie that was excellent. We'll be back and back and back. Prices reflect the quality and quantity of food.

The Buckeye Roadhouse is where my husband proposed to me, where we came for lunch the day we were married and now are celebrating our first anniversary. Thank you for being part of that special memory for us!! Food is always great!!

I never go to San Francisco without having at least one lunch at Buckeye roadhouse. All their food is exceptional their tuna salad is amazing and a different flavor than I've ever had. The Berger puts most burger joints to shame seafood is off the hook and their french fries or sinfully good Their chicken wings or more like drumsticks they're so big absolutely spectacularly great tasting and huge If you want a great place to meet for lunch or it's not too far of a drive for dinner it is awesome highly recommend it

We had not been to Buckeye for a while. It exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent (we liked the variety of choices on the menu), the service was attentive and we liked the ambiance. It was a bit noise, but not unpleasantly so. It is an outstanding place to dine.

Food was not as good as usual. Baby-back ribs were a bit dry. Liver and Onions did not seem as good as usual too. Desert was excellent. It was a Monday night with July 4 next day, so maybe the regular chefs were off duty. We'll go back and hope it was an anomaly

I guess I wasn't expecting a wood cabin atmosphere. It has the cabin / lodge feel to the fish and steak available. Something didn't feel matched. And quite pricey for the food and atmosphere. Great to take your parents.

We had dinner for four before a play at Marin Theater Company. Curtain was at 7:30; we got to the restaurant about 5:15 and had a great meal with good service and had plenty of time to get to the theater.

This is a very nice restaurant and quite pleasant for dinner. I think the food is good but not exceptional. My dining companions were very enthusiastic about their dishes, so, maybe it was just my dish that was not really outstanding. I had the ribeye and I would not order it again. Still, it was a very pleasant evening.

Buckeye does eggs better than ANYBODY. And the bbq is also outstanding. It is my go-to place for brunch, special or just because. Also any birthday dinner can be special there. Food is traditional, fresh and excellently prepared. Not the place for innovative or ultra-modern cuisine; simply a wonderful place to dine at any time of day.

Both of us loved the yummy smoked beef brisket with mashed potatoes. Refreshing cold tomatillo soup. Service was friendly and helpful plus she added 2 candles to our dessert since it was an Anniversary celebration.

Our waiter was a perfect example of classic, gracious service. One of the few times in recent memory when I didn't feel obligated to leave a generous tip, but felt happy to. We had a wonderful evening.

Our family loves to come here to celebrate special occasions. The last time I came I had one of their specials, swordfish, which to my delight was executed flawlessly. As was my husbands steak (of course). I do wish our server was a little friendlier. Maybe she was given too many tables and overly stressed.

After accidentally stumbling across "Buckeye" during a trip to Novato last September, we chose it as the location for my wife's birthday celebration when we came back to the area this summer. That should give you an idea about how we rate it. The ambience and service are great, as is the food. It was funny, our son, who has worked as a bar tender for years, said he knew the place was going to be great after taking his first sip of his Manhatten. He said, "Anyplace that takes the time to hire a bar tender of this caliber is going to pay attention to detail on the other things". He was right!
