Buck & Honeys Ratings and Reviews
It was the night of the badgers and Ohio st football game, I was a little bummed I’d miss it, but happy to spend some time with my wife, so it was a nice surprise to see in the dining area that we were seated in, they had a big screen tv with the game on!
My wife ordered the ribeye and I had the Saturday prime rib special, every thing was done perfectly to our liking, our waitress was prompt and very pleasant and took the time to chat with us, we never had to track her down she always seemed to know when to stop and check on us!
Although the badgers didn’t have as good of night as us, I highly recommend Buck & Honeys for a great casual dinner! We will certainly return!
We met friends for dinner on a Friday at 6:00. Our table was ready on time and the restaurant was busy enough to be comfortable, our dinner was served timely and our waiter was attentive without being annoying. The food was good and the Brussel Sprouts are amazing. My only concern was that my baked cod was not hot. It was mildly warm and I didn't want to mention it because it just wasn't a big enough deal to bring up in front of our friends. That being said, I did not finish my fish. All others seemed to enjoy their dinners and we had a great time. I highly recommend the restaurant.
We went to have some brunch with my elderly parents. We were expecting a nice brunch and we’re optimistic based on the menu.
Unfortunately the food was very disappointing and barley up to what I call cafeteria grade food and service. Our food server was not happy to be there and screwed up our order. Our server was not big on customer service and even tried to put kiddie stickers on my elderly mothers sweater
My eggs Benedict were like hard boiled eggs. I really had hoped for a better experience than what we had.
The food is always great at Buck & Honey's. The Prime Rib was spot on and everyone in the group was happy with their meals. We went on a Saturday night at 7:30 and the live music was too loud for the small area that they were set up in. Other then the noise, everything else was great.
we were a party of eight with a 5:15 reservation, and were attending a play at 7:30.
We had an excellent waitperson, (Shay) who did not rush us.
we had a variety of dinners; all were pleased except the two who ordered a "medley" who said they would not order that again. One of the comments about it was that it wasn't very warm.
Excellent communication between Open Table and Buck and Honey's. We made the reservation online shortly before our arrival. We were seated in my favorite room of the restaurant. It is the one beyond the bar and toward the back.
We ate from the featured menu. The shrimp cocktail had 6 large shrimp that were delicious.
The clam chowder was chunky and full of clam. My husband's shrimp salad was very tasty too.
We finished off with bread pudding (YUM!) and two piping hot coffees.
Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. We were not rushed and we made it to the Overture Center concert with 30 minutes to spare. Perfect dining experience!
We actually eat here often. 4 or 5 times a month. Our last visit was a bit of a disappointment. Waiter was not around basically to the end of the meal when he brought the bill. Then seemed to want to chit chat, for a tip, I am guessing. Food was all brought by others, had to chase down a host to get butter, waiter never checked on us during meal. Was very disappointed in the fries...and they are my favorite. They were cold and not cooked properly. Bun received almost seemed recycled. I will return, I just hope they get back to the level of service I know the expect from their people. And also take more care in the food they are serving people even when busy.
Family wanted to try this for the first time. I was apprehensive with the hit or miss ratings people gave them. For every amazing review on yelp their seemed to be one awful review.
Well, we all had an above average meal. The pork chops were good, the pasta dish was good and the stuffed chicken was good. Average plate was $17, beers were $5.
Like many places around, this place can get very loud. We got their at 5pm on a Friday night and left at 5:45. It was mellow when we first sat down and for the next 20 minutes. By 5:30 the noise started to ramp up and by 5:45 it was loud. This is just typical for the area. Still not as bad as Red Robin. My parent has a hearing aid, so I am sensitive to this subject. Waitress was attentive.
Overall score B+
Met friends for lunch and we were very impressed and pleased, drove 1.5 hours to get there but the drive was worth it. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The ambiance was pleasing. We all were first time dinners and were all pleased and will meet there again in the future. Robert B. Bonneville
We met friends here while we were visiting Madison WI. The restaurant is attractive. We had a reservation and were seated in a comfortable booth. Drinks were fine. I had grilled shrimp, but my husband did not like his jambalaya. I would not have ordered that dish in Wisconsin . Our friends had pasta dishes and seemed to enjoy them. The food was okay but not memorable. They were closing by 9:00pm which is a little early by my standards. There is an outdoor eating area but we chose the air-conditioning.
