Buca di Beppo - Valencia Ratings and Reviews
Food and menu are much improved as I had not been there in at least 5 years. I was disappointed when Planet Hollywood bought them and the food quality then. It was much better this time with some of the new items I had not seen before. Looking forward to going there again.
LOVE the fact We made a reservation and were sat immediately upon our arrival! Food and service was FANTASTIC. This is not the fault of the restaurant and we are parents of two young children, but for the first time ever, I was terribly bothered by a screaming toddler who also was climbing and crawling on their table. This did taint our experience but I will return because I do understand that was that one particular situation.
Considering it was a holiday and we had our reservation, the wait to be seated wasn't bad. Our waitress was not friendly at all. You'd think a kids meal would be the first thing to come out but all the rest of the food came out about 10 minutes before my 5 year olds Mac n cheese... Spaghetti and meatballs had no flavor. Definitely could have made a better meal at home and the service left a lot to be desired. Won't be returning and wouldn't recommend.
Waitress was sort of rude, very dismissive. We seemed to annoy her w/ our requests but we weren't demanding or overbearing. Our table of 17 was seated in a small room w/ little temperature control, and some of us were very warm, including two infants. The waitress wasn't much help and displayed a poor attitude.
Veal marsala was terrible; veal is supposed to be very tender but this dish was chewy. I still have the leftovers in my fridge but i'm just going to throw them away. Chicken limone was delicious, as was the antipasti salad.
We visited for my wife's birthday and had a great time. We reserved for 5, but had 2 more join us with no issues at all. We had two large dishes, spaghetti and meat sauce & antipasti. We also had a small order of Fried Mozzarella Sticks and Tiramisu for dessert. And the food was delicious. We had very little left and no one left hungry.
The entire restaurant is festooned with so many photos and other fun wall art, it is hard to find a bare spot on the walls. But it is done with real thought. Our booth was the Bella Stellina and it was surrounded with photo's of beautiful women such as Sophia Loren and Anita Ekberg. The booth across from us was a Sinatra theme. There were many other themed areas around the restaurant. In my opinion, this adds to the special atmosphere of the restaurant.
Overall, I highly recommend it. They handle large groups very well. But for a small, romantic dinner, I would steer clear, unless you want to eat in the lounge.
We had a small group of 5 and had reservations on Friday before New Years Eve. Were seated on time at a nice sized table. Food was good and served promptly. We ordered small size portions but still had food left over. Servers were very good and attentive. It was busy and very loud but Overall a very nice night.
Sat in Pope room, fun with the ambience. They pipe in music which is loud so if you are with elderly or hard of hearing it makes it difficult to hear - especially at a table so large as in the Pope room. Temperature was way too cold... it was in the 50's outside. We asked to lower the music in the Pope room (they did), and raise the Temperature (did not). Very surprisingly the food at Buca De Beppo is just bland and blah. Why? This location may be an isolated case but surely any Italian Chef or trained Chef should taste test the entrees they serve. My wife and 3 children (and me) all agreed the food was bad. There was minimum "zest" lack of bold flavour - even spaghetti marinara you could see how watery it was. If I were in management I'd strongly taste test meals unannounced as a diner so to educate and shape up the recipes used i.e. Salt how much etc... to get away from the blandness of what we experienced.
We come here frequently, about once a month, for family get-togethers, but this time was special because of our waiter. Tony De Filippo (not sure that's how it's spelled) was wonderful! He made us feel right at home and did a great job with service. Food was excellent, as usual! We will always ask for Tony from now on.
We picked this location because my boyfriend really liked the food and it was our anniversary. Despite reservations, there was no need. Weekday evenings are not that busy (quite another story come weekends). The server, Tony, was excellent! Very attentive, without being overly so...the service and food delivery was prompt and Tony even brought a little "Let's Celebrate" postcard to the table.
As my son said, this is the kind of restaurant we should have gone to when our kids were 10 to 16 years old: food is decent and it comes family style. So, you get lots of food for your money, it's good but not outstanding. If you are a foodie, then it's not the place for you. Service was good, and they made sure we understood how much to order. Arrived super quickly, so if you are in a hurry, this would be a great place to dine.
Amazed I was able to get last min reservations for Mother's Day and at a reasonable hour for a large party. Worked out great!! Had to wait a bit when we arrived but they were super busy. Food was very tasty and plenty. Perfect place for kids since the place was so loud. Would recommend anyone to go, especially those with large groups.
