We went for a surprise party and we reserve in advance, but it still seems like they were under prepared for us. The server wasn't really great with a large group (kind of weird for a family style restaurant). My biggest complaint was that I checked in advance because we had two vegans in our party, but when we got there it turns out there was nothing for them to eat, the previously vegan options had ben removed from the menu apparently.
Great service tonight ..
Great time! Great good! Great service!
Fun - service ok but was very busy. Very loud.
Reservations time 6:00 pm New Years Eve. We must of had the worse waitress in the restaurant. We had 9 people in our party and had to wave her down to get any service. She spilled alcohol drinks on 4 of us.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Portions are very large, glad that the waiter explained which saved us from dramatically over ordering
We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday with the family. Our original plan was to go to another restaurant but they didn’t take reservations and we’d been to Buca before so we booked it. I received 2 calls to verify my large party’s arrival time and when we got there, we didn’t have to wait any time! The service was prompt, the food was good, the celebration memorable! Thanks Buca!
Service (not including the bar-which was poor/being ignored) was excellent. Don't order the Veal Parmigiana, chewy and lacking in flavor. Salads were excellent, garlic bread ok, pasta was pretty good. Desserts were pretty good. That doesn't add up to $266 (for 6) before tip with a few drinks being anything to write home about. Buca in Encino used to be excellent.
This is an Italian restaurant at the bottom floor of the parking garage in a shopping center of Uber-suburbia. So expect nothing more.
The food is pretty good, and it's a lively spot for parties and celebrations. I've had their food at various parties, and it was always good. This was my second time dining there with my family. The food was good, and the price is reasonable. But on this occasion, for a family dinner out when my mother was visiting, we had a very bad service experience. As you do at a family-style place like this, we ordered several dishes. We were served our salad first, so when the other dishes came, we moved the salad to the end of the table to make room for everything else. The salad dish was cleared, but unfortunately, we were not finished with it, and it was still more than half full. We recognized how the error happened, as the dish was near the end of the table, so we addressed to our server that our salad had been removed before we were finished with it. He stared blankly at us and said, "Ok" and walked away. We assumed he was going to get more salad or find out what happened. Nope. He never addressed it again. He only came back and asked if we wanted desert. We said no, but we wanted the rest of our salad.
The salad cost about $18, so what was removed from the table was worth half that. Fine. Not a big deal. Had he apologized, or acknowledged the error in any way, it would have been more than fine. But he didn't. He entirely brushed it off. It was frustrating and disappointing.
Generally speaking, if you want mediocre Italian food and the Olive Garden is full, sure, go here. If you have the option for legit Italian in a mom-and-pop space, got there.
Jaime, we appreciate you taking the time to write to us and are sorry to hear you did not fully enjoy your recent visit. Please know that your feedback will be shared with our management team in an effort to improve future guest experiences. Thank you for reaching out to us.
Really nice place, but food was a little disappointing. Just a little.
You better love food. HUGE portions. The style is family portions for all. I first tried this chain in Las Vegas. This trip was to celebrate 4 birthdays. Unfortunately despite noting this in the reservation it was not observed while I noticed other tables where. The server was nice enough but there was sense of "rushed" feeling. Outside of that it was a busy night creating some noise level. But again its a family style dining set up. The food itself was fantastic like last time, and come to think of it the time beef that. both in Vegas. I would recommend the spicy chicken rigatoni. The chicken parm is also very good. A decent wine selection as well with some mixed drinks. Overall was a pleasant experience and will most like bring the kids back.
Love the decor and food is awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The place was very busy due to the Mother's Day crowd. Even with the requests we had with a large group, the server pulled off a fantastic dinner for the family.
Crazy packed for Mother’s Day. 1 hour 20 minute wait for food!
This is our third trip to Bucca and we inevitably run into the same problem which is the wait staff is overburdened and seemingly disorganized with food arriving in delayed shifts. I don’t think they hire enough staff t
The service was good. The food was terrible. The place was packed for Mother's Day and it was so noisy we could talk to each other.
Great food super tasty, no pressure to leave. The booth was comfortable for six large adults - not squished
Food is good, the menu had a lot to choose from. The specialty drinks are very tasty!! We had Tiramisu for dessert...OH MY and plenty enough to split amongst the 4 of us. Service was great!! Even though the portions are large (served Family style) It's over priced for a pasta house, and everything is "A la carte".
Tony was amazing. He was very attentive and welcoming. The food was decent, but the ambiance and service made Easter Sunday great!
Service was amazing!
Pizza was just a little to greasy for me !
Celebrated a 16th birthday. Got charged $15 cake fee. I've taken cakes to other
Buca' s in Citywalk and the Grove as well as restaurants in genersl and have never been charged $15 before. They let us know and ask if "it's okay" while we stood there with it in our hands. What choice did we have? We spent over $200 on the bill so really just greed on their part. Service was just ok. Had to wait really long periods to ask for refills and napkins etc. Food was just ok. If its a celebration I'll go elsewhere.
Not one complaint. Never had a dish I didn’t like. 👍🏻
Tried to charge us $15 to cut a cake!!!! Really I don’t think so. Never going back took cake home and save the money. Poor business practice. Nowhere on website is this stupid charge mentioned
Ok dinner, you definitely don’t get a lot of food for the price. But overall still a good dinner with the family.
Portions are so large and overpriced. Great for large parties, not so much for casual dinning.
Waiting for about 10 min although nobody was ahead of us but we didn’t mind. Used that time to chat and we understand the process of clearing tables. The waitress did have to get a manager approval on my ID... I’m 23 ordered a drink but never had that happen and I was there last week !!
Always great food and great service! Very accommodating, kind and attentive.
It's been awhile since we last went to Buca but as I remembered from our last visit, food remains delicious and the setting is always family oriented. Overall experience with this visit is thumbs up again.
The server was more attentive to the group that came after us. He did not ask us about our meal until it was near the end.
Great food only thing we went on a new year eve and it was very busy the food came out too slow
Annual just before Christmas family dinner.
Great food and especially great service from Tony on the night before Thanksgiving! Wonderful!
Pro tip: make sure the hostedt
Buca is always great for family celebrations! Great food and fun staff.
Food and menu are much improved as I had not been there in at least 5 years. I was disappointed when Planet Hollywood bought them and the food quality then. It was much better this time with some of the new items I had not seen before. Looking forward to going there again.
We had a great family birthday dinner. Food was great and service was too!
LOVE the fact We made a reservation and were sat immediately upon our arrival! Food and service was FANTASTIC. This is not the fault of the restaurant and we are parents of two young children, but for the first time ever, I was terribly bothered by a screaming toddler who also was climbing and crawling on their table. This did taint our experience but I will return because I do understand that was that one particular situation.
