Hostess didn’t seem like she liked her job.. not one smile
We went for my daughter’s 8th birthday. (I mentioned the birthday in my notes on Open Table reservation).
They did not sing to her or even acknowledge her birthday. In fact, they didn’t even ask us if we wanted dessert and just brought us the check.
My wife wanted to bring it up and complain but I told her it wasn’t worth it because my daughter would just get her feelings hurt.
Overall the food is good. It seems like the portions are far to large and honestly it is extremely overpriced.
I went to celebrate my birthday it was mentioned when me made the reservation when we got there i mentioned to the hostess it was my birthday and i told the waiter very disappointing nothing was done to celebrate
Server paid very little attention to me, after about 15 minutes sitting in a jout and waiting I was ready to walk out. Server did not give name or greet me when he walked up to the table. I had taken my sister with me for a day out and it was practically ruined. Hence I dis not give the server a tip. He did not act very professional. Terrible service great food.
I made a reservation for quite a large group...about 23 of us and I had to change the reservation to a slightly earlier time the day of and the restaurant was quite accommodating. The food was good, the service was ok and we were happy overall.
Penne a la vodka was bland & chicken Marsala not quite as flavorful as usual / everything else was excellent including service and the very cool Pope Room
Universal parking can be expensive if you stay a couple hours, even with validation
Very attentive service.
My family pretty much thinks our server was high, she spilt half of our wine bottle on the table. They brought a large dish to us instead of a small one and then after picking at decided to take the dish back and give it to a different table...
Also the waitress swore they had no lasagna and we walked out to through the kitchen as the chef was preparing three plates of lasagna.
Worst experience ever.
Service was excellent and so was Eggplant Parmesan!
We were disappointed in the pizza we ordered and thought food was a bit overpriced. Otherwise a good experience. Probably won’t go back anytime soon.
Noise level as in babies crying and loud obnoxious tables around us....not energetic!
I gave service a 3 because the server saved them, she was on spot. The young girls up front need to be fired. Rude, arrogant, liars and clueless.
Food is slop....but lots of it.
I loved it!!
This was a much better experience than my party and I had at the Buca di Beppo Restaurant at The Grove on Thanksgiving Day. After walking up dozens of steps to the top of the restaurant, we were seated in a spacious and comfortable booth and received attentive and good service. My wife's request to turn down the air conditioning, air blowing directly on her on a cool night, was not promptly honored. Our stuffed chicken breast and white pizza were excellent. I dislike the way Buca di Beppo prices items and makes it impossible for one person to have something that only they want. Portions are large and prices are high: $30.99 for a small chicken dish with three breasts, $17.99 for a salad. This makes it difficult for me to dine here often.
Very RUDE host who acts like high school clique with bunch of young workers and gossip. They would finger point at people who's ugly or weird. And they think themselves looks better. My gosh. Called the general manager about them, their behaviors. We walked out without order food. Never go back again. #NOTAGOODVIBES....
We are truly sorry for the frustrating experience and we hope for the opportunity to learn more and try to make things right.
Thank you for dining with us! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Beware! Scam "photographers", "family-sized" portions and "flavors" from "Italy".
We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience and value your feedback. We will be sure to share this experience with our staff in an effort to improve future guest experiences.
Wow the service was not great. Instead of food coming out together one child’s pizza came half an hour after everything else. We had no plates, no water refills, and the leftovers we took home did not hold up the next day. It was for a birthday celebration and it was nice they sang and brought out ice cream, but overall it was not an experience I’d repeat. Too many other options.
We're very sorry to hear this and would love to get in touch to make things right.
Excellent service, good food, what more can ask for.
We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your meal and service with us! We hope to see you again soon!
I love love LOVE Buca! The staff is so professional and their food is impeccable!
The foods are pretty awesome and the staffs are very friendly. My boyfriend and I will definitely come back soon!
Service was the worst I have ever experienced. Ordered a bottle of wine that was dropped off at the table. Waited 20 minutes for wine glasses and for the bottle to be opened. Food was good. Waited another 20 minutes after dinner for my credit card to be picked up for payment. Definitely would not recommend.
Buca di Beppo - Universal is great for almost any occasion. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is lively and the food is excellent. Can't go wrong with this restaurant!
I ate here with some friends before we went to Horror night sa
Always a great meal!
Having a reservation doesn’t mean a whole lot. Was told a few more minutes about four times. Reservation was at 8:15 got seating around 8:40. Other than that the food was good service was decent.
We have been there many times and absolutely love it
People that were coming in were told that the wait would be about 30 minutes. I made a reservation through Open Table and my group was made to wait 25 min. When I told the hostess, her response was “were busy.” Isn’t that the pint of making a reservation? To have a table put on hold when it it’s busy so you don’t have to wait?!
Once we were, finally, seated they put us in a table far too small for 7 people. We wouldn’t have for one large bowl of pasta for our group on that table. They did change out table, but only after I got up to speak to the manager. What did I have to get up? Because it took the waitress 10 min to show up.
The place and food are well known but the restaurant relies on its reputation and not enough on good service to keep people coming back. I was a frequent customer but after this last experience I’ll have to find a new place to go for family style Italian food.
Great place for a family dinner good food. We’d definitely go back!
We checked in right on time at the restaurant. Even with reservations, we had to wait about 20 minutes. After awhile, the hostess seemed to recall we were standing there and sat us at a table that was empty the entire time. The so-so food was as expected. Our attentive server was the only reason I didn't give only one star for everything.
We went as a family to meet our business colleagues so we had the best of both worlds with good conversation but the kids enjoyed the experience too.
First of all the restaurant didn’t accept my reservation from open table saying it had to be over an hour for them to acknowledge a reservation even though there were 2 open slots. So I had to wait 40 minutes for a table. Then it took the waiter over 30 minutes to take our orders. It took another 30 to 40 minutes for food to arrive. The worst part was all our food arrived at the same time. I’m talking appetizer, salad and entree's. Really it takes 40 minutes to make a caprese and salad? Worst service I have ever experienced.
Excellent food, excellent service and they seated us within 5 minutes of the reservation time even though they were extremely busy on a Saturday night.
Food was great, waiter was great. The only negative aspect was the main hostess. She was very rude and unapproachable.
This review is for the location @ Universal Studios City Walk. My family & I usually have nice dining experiences here but today was Mother’s Day & unfortunately our experience seems to have gone to a new low. The waiter was friendly & took our orders right away. The place was a bit busy but noticed that there was enough servers going around. Our salads came and one small baguette + a small saucer of olive oil and a few drops of balsamic vinegar? We sorta over heard our waiter apologizing to the table behind us and then he placed the chalice cup of calamari onto our table. He then apologied to us & said that a different server had mistakenly brought it over to their table & so we said Ok, now worries & didn’t stop to think about it too much. Until I found a piece of salad lettuce in between one of the calamari pieces, which made me think maybe those other people may have taken a few pieces (Augh) OR Buca’s portions are becoming much smaller than what we are use to seeing for $17.99?!!! Very disappointed but didn’t want to make a big deal, so the rest of our pastas came out and our waiter said our pizza would be coming soon. Well 15-20 minutes later we finished most our food and still no pizza. (Aughh) The waiter apologized and said the kitchen forgot to make it and wanted to know if we still wanted to order it. We said Yes (because we were starving) and so we waited patiently (again). After 12 minutes our thin pizza finally came. The waiter said he felt bad and gave us “complimentary” dessert (ice cream). So to be fair the service was good but the quality + quantity of the portions were very disappointing. :(
Our waitress was great, but we’ve dined here many many times and the food was not up to par today. We also had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation time for them to even unlock the door for us to enter. Lastly, we had to send back three drinks due to dirty glasses (I’m not usually just be to do that and will avoid it at all costs, by these were exceptionally gross).
Very nice, relaxing family dinner following a full day at Universal. The food and service were great.
Don’t get me wrong, the food was great and our waiter was awesome. The only thing is that when we came in, there weren’t a lot of people. It wasn’t busy at all and yet, it took them 20 minutes to sit us. I thought the long wait to be seated is only when they are busy.
