Buca di Beppo - Times Square Ratings and Reviews
Was seated at a table w/ two dirty (sticky stuff on chair like from spilled soft drinks) chairs. My jeans got stuck to chair and got dirty. I asked a waiter if he could clean our chairs and he said he would be right there. Waited 5 minutes, the whole time standing, and then asked a second waiter, Fernando, if he could clean the chairs. Fernando rudely said “ I am busy right now and cant’ clean the chairs”. My husband ended up going to an empty table and switching our chairs w/ clean chairs. I asked to speak to the manager to tell him/her about my experience. The manager never came. I am disappointed w/ the way Fernando spoke to me. As we left I saw him having a long conversation with another server, Krystal, so obviously he was not too busy. Customer service very disappointing.
This is a typical theatre district touristy family style Italian restaurant. Once we found it (restaurant is on the third floor) the environment was comfortable and warm. Service was spotty but friendly, and the food was mediocre. That said, it is very family friendly and my kids enjoyed the food. On the whole a positive experience.
We were there during the after Christmas week festivities. We had reservations for lunch and It was perfect. The wait staff had a number of sick calls so the staff was stretched but very courteous. The management was smart and were not serving without reservations due to their shortage of staff making our experience attentive and welcoming. The food was good, nothing special, and the prices were very affordable by NYC standards. The atmosphere is fun loving and relaxing and entertaining . Background music was relaxing and it was a quiet respite from the noise of the city.
Came here with family from out of town. While it may be a chain restaurant, I thought the food would have been a bit better. Biggest complaint was the service. We had to ask our server for an extra plate setting as our table did not have enough and then she did not bring enough sharing plates or dessert spoons later in meal. We had to find our waitress each time to ask for something as she was not attentive to our table.
Went with my family- supposed to be 8 but one had to work. We had no issue that we were one short. We were sitting in an adorable private room, had a very sweet and efficient waitress. The food was delicious- served fast and hot. All in all, a very pleasant experience!
I was booked this restaurant for Christmas lunch 25/12/17
And I wasn’t to sure how it would be but it was fantastic that’s the best way to describe it
Services was excellent
Food was more than you cud eat excellent
Was cooked to perfection
Worth every penny and wasn’t over the top on prices
I honestly cud go on about this place all day
If I visit time square again in the future will most definitely be eating there again
As I say one word excellent
Disappointed today with food and service. Was here almost 3 weeks ago and JJ was our server. Made reservation and requested JJ section but was not granted so service today was a 3. Don’t know what happen work the delicious chopped antipasto salad we had 3 weeks ago , today we couldn’t find the meat on it. Salmon was over cooked Garlic bread was good and the chicken limonese. Dessert was very good lemon Raspberry cake. May be will try in the future if we could have JJ as server. To bad because the chopped antipasto salad was real good but not today
We had reservations for 6:45 but went by earlier to see if they would be able to accommodate us, which they did. We were thankful for that. Our waitress must have forgotten about us because we had glasses and dishes all over our table and our pizza came. We weren't really happy with the service and I thought it was pretty pricey for pizza. We were a large group and only ordered pizza, 2 appetizers and salad and it was over $400. Of course they put the tip on the bill, but if they didn't we didn't feel our waitress deserved the 20% - not that we would have give less than 15%, but she would have only received the 15%.
Our kids shared a dish and my wife and I shared one as well (taking some of the kids' leftovers as well!).
This is a 'shared plate' restaurant so you want to make sure you have a group that lies to share and you have similar tastes. There is a lot of food so sharing is caring! :)
The server was attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. The portions are large and we opted for 2 appetizers (fried mozzarella and a course salad) and dessert (cheese cake) instead of full meals. We enjoyed everything! We would definitely go back again.
Decent place, but kind of an italian version of TGI Fridays. Kind-of schlocky Italian place with family-style meals. More or less a tourist trap. All that said, the meal was solid. Not fantastic, but perfectly good food. Price is very reasonable b/c it's family-style ordering (you only order 2-3 entrees for the family to share). Service people were very nice, but service was slow and clunky. I think if you're going to have a trip into the city, you're better off finding a neighborhood bistro down the side streets, but if you're on a family trip and want to stay inside Times Square area, this place is good.
My husband, son and I have been to numerous Bucas in different states, and this is by far the most expensive. Don't get me wrong, the food is great and we would go back for the family style any time, but on average the meals are $6-$8 more here in NY than anywhere else. And the drinks are about $3 more per drink. I guess that's the price you pay to be in Manhattan Times Square, right?
Our waiter forgot one of our entrees and when we reminded him, he didn’t seem too concerned. Also, one of us has a severe gluten allergy. We ordered gf penne and it arrived with pieces of “regular” spaghetti mixed in.
Obviously, your wait staff and chefs are not concerned about the level of service nor the care in preparing allergy free foods.
Although it was busy restaurant wasn't packed. Server was nice but service was very slow. I had to ask several times for drink order. Food was good portions but the lasagna wasn't hot. It was lukewarm like it was sitting out. After we finished again slow service. Took a long time to get check. Could have been better.
