Early Father’s Day dinner
Good food, fun atmosphere, a good time was had by all!
The food and service was poor. I will never eat at this restaurant again. The chicken Marsala tasted like sweet and sour chicken. Lasagna was dry and did not taste good. The only good items that were edible, were the bread, penne vodka and the salad; had to ask for additional vodka sauce because the penne was dry. The family style and no single serve entrees available.
We have gone to this location many times but I was very disappointed in this visit. Now I take in to consideration it was Mother's day but.... I had flying bugs around our table the whole time and had several drop in the food served. But the worse was the condition of the bathrooms they were very bad. Also all Happy Birthday singing at the top of their lungs was way too much. There was enough surface noise all ready and to add to it really put us off being able to visit at all. We left without really getting the meal we wanted do to all this.
Great food! But hard to go there when you wanna try and eat healthy. Not many options especially if you are the only one. So in reality just can’t go.
Let me begin by saying this is one of my favorite places to celebrate, however, they were either very understaffed or untrained because the service was scattered. I checked in when we arrived and we waited and watched several others be seated, then I went to see how much longer and the person at the desk alluded that we were not in fact checked in and then Our drink order (very simple, 3 glasses of the same wine, Pepsi and lemonade) came out few by few and we had to ask repeatedly for the 3rd persons glass of wine. the food was good, and once the server caught up she was more present. Ordering took a very long time. I know it was a prom hot spot that night, but I feel they were, as I mentioned either not trained or prepared.
Great food and service. We were seated in a perfect location. We will be back.
The restaurant was jumping. Many birthdays and several large prom groups added to the energy level. All of our courses were served timely. Cold food was cold; hot food was hot; all delicious.
Portions are outrageously big and no one mentions anything about it. The end result is that one gets too much food and paying an unreasonable amount of money. The restaurant team should tell customers that EVERYTHING is meant to be shared.
Great food, great service
Not my best experience. Server greeted us, then did not return for 15 minutes to take our drinks orders. New server took over and she was great. Food was unusually slow, and the chicken was dry.
I love the restaurant and I will go again. Hoping it was just an off night...
I had a 5:00pm dinner reservation for 10. We weren’t seated until 5:45pm. There were other large parties seated before us and we were told that our table was going to be ready and still waited 20 more minutes. I asked for a manager and she had no apologies just a business as usual attitude. When we were finally seated it took at least 30 minutes or more to order. An hour to get our food. Our waitress was never around and the manager was eyeing our table all night and asked just once if everything was alright. (Of course everything is alright now that I'm eating). The waitress never had plates at the table for us and had to get some, never cleared our salad plates for dinner plates. Overall had the worst experience ever. We always come here to celebrate many birthdays and special occasions and have never been treated this way before. I expect better. No apologies and never tried to make it right or better. I will never come here again. There are other restaurants that treat you much better for the price you pay.
It was very enjoyable. The waitress was so great with the little ones. The food was plentiful and so delicious. Thanks
Table service was pretty good, but the front of house (prior to being seated was absolutely ABYSMAL).
This was probably my absolute worst OpenTable reservation experience *ever*. We had a 715 res for 2. We checked in at 718 (having to wait in a ridiculously long queue). We were told we would be seated in 10-15 minutes. Over an hour later we still had yet to be seated.
At the 45 minute mark I asked a manager, who popped over to the host's station, about our wait. John looked at me, and then said, "i'll be back in just a sec." 15 minutes later he had yet to reappear.
We were finally seated at around 820, and everything went along more or less fine from that point... but getting there was the worst.
The hosts and management did a horrible job managing expectations at check in. They lied. They stalled. They couldn't have cared less about the back up, other than just trying to get thru it. If someone had just been honest at check in, we may have decided to just go somewhere else... instead it was stall, lie, stall, lie. "Just a few moments." "You're next." (we weren' t. ) on and on for over an hour.
A simple "I'm sorry" from the manager, a drink or app on the house would have been appreciated. Instead it was just a major cluster f.
Obviously, we werent they only ones being treated this way. There were many who were being treated similarly or even worse. Words were being yelled in anger. It wasn't pretty.
Take out may be our next option, if we ever close to go back.
Good food. Fun waiter. Would go again.
It was a friend B-day get together and food was great but breads was cold and hard....I was not happy with service... can’t find her, repeat few time to get what we asked, when she brought it the B-day ice cream to our table, ice cream was melted and all she said was “do you still want it?Sorry, so busy”Waited for a long time for B-day song too...no eye contact with attitude understand that it was busy... we were very patient with her too.....I’ve been there many times before and this is the first time very disappointed with service....
melted ice cream was sooo discussed it...
Went here for a birthday party with 14 people. The food was good. The service was very slow. There were similar size parties crammed in around us that showed up after us and left before us. 2 hours and 45 minutes. That was ridiculous. I figured around 2 hours, but our server was much slower than the other servers at the other tables around us. We had a good time, but that amount of time with 7 kids sitting in cramped quarters was a bit much.
Great time! always festive at Bucca!
Food portions, even for a family style, were impressive.
Staff very friendly.
Only concern is very large group of soccer players came in which slowed down seating but only by an 1/2 hour.
By far the worst experience I have ever had here. Our waitress couldn’t be bothered once we all ordered water. We had to track her down to get refills. She never came to clear appetizer/salad plates until after our entrees arrived and we had begun eating. Then when it came time for the bill we had coupons and she told us no less than three times she would be back to bring the bill, we waited over 35 minutes to get the bill and pay after being told we could only have one coupon despite us having more than one bill and more than one table. Add to that the fact that everyone in the place was seated right next to each other we couldn’t even hear each other talking. It was awful, service was terrible and the value was not there this time.
I love the food! But, I don’t like to be rushed!!!!
It’s a lot of money for food fairly easy to make myself. Still I love the place for its crowd of Italian people.
Interesting you do 3s and 5s when most groups are 2s and 4s.
We enjoyed ourselves.
Birthday celebration - we had a party of nine- were put at a great table near the rear of the restaurant which proved to give us more room than we have had in the past and the noise level seemed much less. Food was good. Parking is a real problem on Saturday night!
The singing for our birthday girl was really fun. Food and wine were booth on point for the price! Our waiter Josh was really attentive, fun and helpful
The food at Buca is always good. SO good. Our newly-hired server Anthony was fantastic and we loved him. Kudos to him! The rest of the wait-staff was outstanding, personable and kind as well.
The front desk hostess Veronica, however, was not professional, had a very dismissive demeanor and did not seem to speak above a mumble. Our party was confused with a different party as they were being seated (they had 11, we were down to 8 from 9 - they were told their table changed because they now had 8. They were not pleased, and thankfully I was standing right there to clarify that it was not their party size that had dropped to 8 before they got too far into the confusion.)
I had asked for the Pope table in my reservation that was made a month ago. Our party size had since dropped to 8, and understand if we could no longer be seated there due to our smaller numbers - but this was not acknowledged at all prior to my bringing it up as a query with her, and then was immediately dismissed once I asked about it without any clarification as to if we would be seated there not not. No explanation, yes, no or otherwise. We were simply told that we were checked in, and that was it. We were seated at a table further back in the restaurant with no other mention of our request or my query. Our interaction with Veronica was cold, dry, confusing and disappointing.
So while I would have given Anthony and the rest of our wait-staff 5 stars, Veronica would have gotten my lowest rating, and potentially belongs in a different position that does not involve interacting as the first face of the restaurant creating the roots of the customer's dining experience.
Food was just decent. Nothing special. Beyond that was annoyed by several things: They ran out of garlic bread (really??? at an Italian restaurant?) and finally brought some plain bread. When asked if we could perhaps have some butter, too, server brought a hand full of wrapped butter pats and threw them on the table. (Bad day for the server???). Silverware and one plate at our table were not clean. Hostess at front door was less than welcoming and did not appreciate my inquiring about our table (we had a reservation, but waited quite a while to be seated). Overall, not a pleasant dinner. Do not recommend.
Long wait for food and drinks. Otherwise, a very good place for catching up with old friends.
Delicious lunch, over priced though.
Our server Bill was amazing! Celebrated parents anniversary and a birthday too!
Excelled t experience. Great food with snappy, friendly and accommodating service. Perfect for our night out to celebrate a friend's new job!
The food was great and, Susie, our waitress was also great!
We took advantage of the “Sunday Dinner” that was sent in an email announcement. We had plenty of food and enjoyed ourselves!
Very good basic Italian food. Tables are squeezed to close for me. Service was good but nothing special.
Been here many times I always had a good experience this time our waiter was not very personable food was still excellent just barely saw our server
I was very disappointed with this visit. The menu AND pricing has changed and I feel it is just overpriced. At first our waitress tried to convince us that the pricing hadn't changed, that it was just that they split up the portions if you were sharing with others. but I usually order one of the same 2 things EVEYTIME I go and I know the price hadn't been that much in the past. Then she finally said oh yea, the prices increased a little. If you are going to increase pricing, the service should definitely match. Our waitress couldn't be found at times and was not attentive at all. My daughter was turning 20 and chose this restaurant to have a family dinner at, and midway through, I wished we had just went to the Olive Garden.
Fun place to go, but poor value unless you have lots of people splitting the check.
Service was not pleasant. Salad left a lot to be desired. The main dish was amazing but the desert was blah.
I will go back if other people in my party wanted to to but for the money there’s way better Italian places.
I recommend the penne vodka pasta and the garlic toast. Buca needs to double the mashed potato and green bean portions - both were pitiful. The chicken entrees were very tasty and savory.
