As always, we love the Buca...not the 100% perfect or best Italian food ever had, but each dish is tasty and filling. Service from Richelle was excellent, with one exception. This is very strange, but feel it must be addressed. The complimentary bread they serve with meals never came out, so I asked for it. Apparently there was some misunderstanding, because ultimately we got charged for 2 orders of appetizer Garlic Bread instead of the complimentary bread basket I had been asking for. $28!!! This restaurant is not cost effective, it's family style and very expensive. I enjoyed a Peach Bellini (champagne and fruit puree) and they were $12 each!! You know they aren't made with Dom Perignon, so that seems high, but it's Seattle and you expect over-inflated prices. But---why would anyone knowingly or actually order bread as a side appetizer, when they give you garlic bread with the meals??? I called the Manager to inquire about this overcharge immediately following our exit, as we were in town for only 3 days and I felt it was worth calling about. She took my name and number and said she'd investigate and call me back. I never heard from her again and I'm very disappointed. This is WRONG. Richelle was great, excellent and attentive, but she told us she was new to town and I cannot help but wonder if she forgot about the bread or what...when she asked me if I wanted Garlic Bread or Cheesy Garlic Bread...I didn't really understand or know what she meant, as I expected THE COMPLIMENTARY GARLIC BREAD THAT NORMALLY IS BROUGHT TO THE TABLE. We had a baby and needed some noshy item to keep her occupied. So disappointed. :(
What a great surprise! A small place at the corner of a street that offers delicious meals.
Hadn't been to Buca in a while. They did some serious remodeling since my last visit, and I have to say it wasn't for the better. I liked the restaurant when it was darker inside and had more little nooks to hide out in. It feels more open now and seems to have more windows than I remember, which takes away from the intimate atmosphere. Being an Italian who grew up on pasta I'd say their food is fine but not great (the beer selection is horrible). There were 3 of us and we got 3 dishes, all small size. We shared the antipasto salad, the spaghetti and meatballs and the fettuccini alfredo. My biggest problem was the value for what we got. Not price necessarily, but value. While they portions are large, at an average of $30 for the small size they aren't *that* big for what you're paying. They say the small serves 2-3 people, but they must be including children because we easily finished everything and could have eaten more. Our waiter was great and the food came out very quickly. Oddly that seemed to take away from the value because with drinks (just two, one beer and one glass of wine) we ended up with a $150 bill and we were done in about an hour. Bottom line for me is that it had the atmosphere and food quality of a mid-low tier Italian place but with high end prices. Not sure I would go back anytime soon.
Had a party of 14 for lunch and everything went as well as expected!
lots of fun here. we were greeted at the door and engaged in conversation by the staff at the front while we waited. we had informed them that it was our first time, they remembered us on our way out and asked how we'd liked it. Service was good and quick. Server was very informative with the choices on the menu. BIG portions, the four of us were easily able to share a salad and pasta dish meant for 2 - 3 people. love the ambiance. would definitely recommend this to friends.
Good gluten free options available. The chicken saltimbocca is great and we always enjoy the broccoli Romano. Service is good and the location is convenient. Overall, a good experience.
Always a good time for kitchy Italian chain food. But they need to get warmer lighting. Flourecent white lighting is a bummer for any restaurant.
As a long Time Beppo customer- 18 years- was looking forward to this visit as we no longer live in a town with one. Unfortunately as much as I wanted it to be great, it really fell short this visit: value, service and atmosphere.
Value- prices have gone up significantly with a basic spaghetti and meatballs now crowding $30 and $22 for a small ceasar- lettuce and croutons mind you. This must be taking a toll as the place was far from full on a Friday night. What was peculiar was even though it wasn’t busy, it took at least a half- hour to get drinks and place an order. Another 15 minutes to come back with the check to sign.
We will be back as we enjoy the food and is a family tradition, but hope this location improves and shared the same commitment we have to going, or the next trip may unfortunately be our last.
Not a restaurant suitable for just 2 people. No options for small portions. They need to indicate that it is only family style on their website. Would be a great place for 4 or more people.
Stunningly poor service. Server seemed to be working hard but couldn’t get caught up. Management seemed to be the issue and was really non-existent. Like Buca but this was brutal
Perfect. Food was better than I remembered.
There was no close parking, food was luke warm.. Not fresh tasting, wait staff was sloppy. Will not return
We went on New Years and it was crazy busy but we were seated fairly quickly (within 10 mins after our reservation time). Biggest complaint was parking, or the lack therof. Horrible. Service was excellent. Food was good except for the chocolate chip cannoli dessert...AWFUL. Cheesecake was a bit rich too. The chocolate brownie sundae was a huge hit! Delicious!!! And we love the meatballs. The flashing cups were a hit with the kids too. Overall we had a very fun and enjoyable New Years dinner and we'd do it again!
We are visiting Seattle and had bad experience with food for the first 2 days, I have been to bucca di beppo before and thinking that can't go wrong with Pizza, we ordered pizza, guess what Bucca Di Beppo managed to screw up the pizza completely. Not to mention there was a long wait even though we had made a reservation for 8:00 pm, we got our table late. There was a huge huge wait time to get our food and pizza arrived uncooked and full of dry flour, despite me being super hungry, it was the worst pizza so ever I have had so far. Costcos pizza is better than them. It was my wife's first time there and took her there on my recommendation, total let down.
This was easily the most disappointing dining experience of my life. Poor, really poor, food. Mediocre service. But afterwards we agreed that maybe this is how dining happens in the US. Large quantities of terrible food, eaten in the company of mostly overweight people.
We had really great service until our food came. We saw our waiter once until we got our check, couldn't even request another drink because of it. But food was really yummy
Unfortunate experience. We went to this location after an early performance of the Nutcracker for an 8pm reservation. They appeared confused that I even had a reservation "that late" (the restaurant has a posted closing time of 9pm). Once seated the staff appeared to be more interested getting us out the door than actually tending to our table despite the nearly full bar area. Drink refills were non existent, a second order of garlic bread never showed and since the waiter didn't appear until the entrees were done we couldn't even inquire to it's location at least it never showed on our bill.
The food was typical fare for Buca, not great but not bad at all. We just felt put off and rushed out the door. Even with desert we still were out the door well before posted closing.
Given the expense for a 7 person dinner one would expect at least some attempt of service. Next time we will opt for another location.
Food was amazing but service was not the greatest from entering till leaving . When we arrived the lady handling reservations was not friendly. Have reservations booked meant nothing. Lady came in after us, party of 7, that were a week early per the unfriendly host and still sat before we did. Maybe get the food for takeout and NOT eat in unless u want ignored.
Family dinner after attending a holiday concert
I don’t like the ambiance at this location. It’s overpriced for the food and dining experience.
We searched up for Thanksgiving Eat Outs and Buca was on the list. Overall experience was fantastic, my wife and I ordered the small Thanksgiving Feast (serves 3) and the house red to share. We were happily stuffed afterwards with plenty of leftovers, food and service were great. It was the perfect setting to experience Thanksgiving Tradition and turkey feast in the US for us. Thanks Buca Seattle!
Good food and well selection of desert
Food was ok. To be fair the restaurant was busy with lots of groups getting together, so the service was shy of what I would have expected. The food was ok, not great.
A lot of food and quick and friendly service. Our toddler was very comfortable.
Considering it was Homecoming for the local high schools it was packed so we did not get approached by a server for some time but once Raja started our service it was great. Tons of food, wine and laughter. Great time had by all.
Service was really good and the food was great. It was busy because of homecoming, but the waiter still provided us with everything we needed. Overall, it was a great experience.
Fun, family-style eating. If your group is large enough, get the Pope Room.
I came here with my family for my birthday. We had made a reservation and got there right on time. It took a while for our orders to be taken, and even longer to receive our food. It took over an hour. I love Buca, but was surprised at the slow service.
Our waiter was great, name on receipt says Rafa but that might be an abbreviation! Lol. He was attentive, funny and helpful! Food was good, restaraunt is clean and ambiance good.
Delicious food, pleasant company, excellent service.
Great food, fun environment, very lively birthday song celebration! Thanks for making this extra special for our daughter!
Buca di Beppo is always great. Our server, Thomas, provided excellent service to our party. I highly recommend a trip to Buca di Beppo.
Good food, good service. Family style portions were a good size but still a bit pricey ... Over $30 for 3 pieces of chicken parm.
frustrated... used to have gluten free pasta... now very limited selections. also the family style portions really dictate what small groups can get especially if staying at a hotel and don't have access to a fridge.
Food was really good. All items are to be shared and the for 2 is huge portion. We shared with different dishes including pizza. Very good lively dinner.
Service was good but long delivery time. Looks like the kitchen was behind on a Tuesday night.
We were extremely upset that we were told the wait would be 40 minutes, but we ended up waiting 1 hr 25 minutes. We had our 20 month old with us so it was a stretch to keep her calm for such a long time.
We were finally seated and found that our server was stretched thin. We ordered the first chance we had as we were well prepared with what we wanted to eat in mind. We waited well over 40 minutes to finally receive our entrees!
Keep in mind, we watched a group get seated after we ordered our food and receive their food before us.
We were far from frustrated, but tried to enjoy our food and leave quickly after.
Our server was excellent!!! he has several big parties and he was on top of things! Helpful and very personable and we reflected it in his tip
We absolutely loved our first experience! Our server was fun, passionate about the restaurant and the food. We sat upstairs and had a great view of Lake Union.
