Buca di Beppo - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
We went on New Years and it was crazy busy but we were seated fairly quickly (within 10 mins after our reservation time). Biggest complaint was parking, or the lack therof. Horrible. Service was excellent. Food was good except for the chocolate chip cannoli dessert...AWFUL. Cheesecake was a bit rich too. The chocolate brownie sundae was a huge hit! Delicious!!! And we love the meatballs. The flashing cups were a hit with the kids too. Overall we had a very fun and enjoyable New Years dinner and we'd do it again!
We are visiting Seattle and had bad experience with food for the first 2 days, I have been to bucca di beppo before and thinking that can't go wrong with Pizza, we ordered pizza, guess what Bucca Di Beppo managed to screw up the pizza completely. Not to mention there was a long wait even though we had made a reservation for 8:00 pm, we got our table late. There was a huge huge wait time to get our food and pizza arrived uncooked and full of dry flour, despite me being super hungry, it was the worst pizza so ever I have had so far. Costcos pizza is better than them. It was my wife's first time there and took her there on my recommendation, total let down.
This was easily the most disappointing dining experience of my life. Poor, really poor, food. Mediocre service. But afterwards we agreed that maybe this is how dining happens in the US. Large quantities of terrible food, eaten in the company of mostly overweight people.
Unfortunate experience. We went to this location after an early performance of the Nutcracker for an 8pm reservation. They appeared confused that I even had a reservation "that late" (the restaurant has a posted closing time of 9pm). Once seated the staff appeared to be more interested getting us out the door than actually tending to our table despite the nearly full bar area. Drink refills were non existent, a second order of garlic bread never showed and since the waiter didn't appear until the entrees were done we couldn't even inquire to it's location at least it never showed on our bill.
The food was typical fare for Buca, not great but not bad at all. We just felt put off and rushed out the door. Even with desert we still were out the door well before posted closing.
Given the expense for a 7 person dinner one would expect at least some attempt of service. Next time we will opt for another location.
Food was amazing but service was not the greatest from entering till leaving . When we arrived the lady handling reservations was not friendly. Have reservations booked meant nothing. Lady came in after us, party of 7, that were a week early per the unfriendly host and still sat before we did. Maybe get the food for takeout and NOT eat in unless u want ignored.
We searched up for Thanksgiving Eat Outs and Buca was on the list. Overall experience was fantastic, my wife and I ordered the small Thanksgiving Feast (serves 3) and the house red to share. We were happily stuffed afterwards with plenty of leftovers, food and service were great. It was the perfect setting to experience Thanksgiving Tradition and turkey feast in the US for us. Thanks Buca Seattle!
We were extremely upset that we were told the wait would be 40 minutes, but we ended up waiting 1 hr 25 minutes. We had our 20 month old with us so it was a stretch to keep her calm for such a long time.
We were finally seated and found that our server was stretched thin. We ordered the first chance we had as we were well prepared with what we wanted to eat in mind. We waited well over 40 minutes to finally receive our entrees!
Keep in mind, we watched a group get seated after we ordered our food and receive their food before us.
We were far from frustrated, but tried to enjoy our food and leave quickly after.
Not what it used to be.
The new location lacks the charm of the old one. They'd lost our reservation despite having called just a few hours earlier to confirm. The food is now slightly better than passable overall, definitely a step down for them. And the overpriced garlic bread was ridiculously overcooked. I would have sent it back but my wife preferred not to.
It seemed that other tables were also struggling with food and service issues.
Sad to see a location slide downhill so obviously.
I'm not sure we'll be back. There are plenty of pseudo Italian places with better service and prices.
We booked here as my friend and I between us had six kids and thought it would be fun to eat downtown together and that Buca Di Beppo would be perfect.
We made a reservation a few days ahead to be sure we had it ahead of our 8 top 6:00 dinner time.
We walked in and were sat and ten minutes passed.
Our server came over eventually and we ordered drinks, appetizer, salad, kids meal and our meal.
Our drinks took 20 minutes.
Kids meals came out thankfully quickly.
Our meal never came - an hour after ordering!
Our kids (twins, triplets and a single) were done so we asked that ours be boxed.
The manager came by and was nice but only took of something off that we never got.
We won't be going back, they were unapologetic and not at all busy. Just not great at their jobs.
This review could be summarized by Murphy's Law: Made reservations on a Sunday evening. Where did they decide to seat us? In the bar. We asked for a more cozy location like a booth and the next choice was a table dead center a crowd of families and their screaming children (no judgement on the families). We just gave up on this. Everything else was down hill from here...
Service was slow and inattentive. From the host to our server, it just seemed like they were bored and didn't care. Took a long time to get our drinks, even forgetting one. And when our food was just alright on top of all that it was just way underwhelming for something we were so excited about.
Between the atmosphere, the service, the food and the value. It's not what I remember. I don't know why I was so in love with this place when I was in school. But it's not something I care for now.
the food overall is sub par and over priced. we used to LOVE going to this restaurant... This will probably be our last... 5 stuffed mushrooms for $18?!? our pizza was soggy... the calamari USED to be spectacular... our pasta tasted like boiled noodles in milk... and our bread was COLD! this was a very unfortunate night.
Once our drink and menu order was taken, took at least 30 minutes to get one drink!! and 1 hour fifteen minutes for our Dinner to arrive. The waiter never returned to take another drink order or follow up, never.. you're losing huge amounts of sales just from the bar due to length of delivery and follow up. That being said, the food we ordered was to die for, delicious!
First off, didn't realize before hand that entrees are Small or Large, either 2-3 or 4-6 people. Meals are also Al la carte so the Chicken Parmigiana was only the chicken and sauce, no noodles, no vegetables. Expensive too! I won't go into details on our 'first' visit ever and last except that we were brought out the wrong dish; it was so wrong that we actually did not eat it, just had our wine, appetizer and bread and left.
