Buca di Beppo - Scottsdale

We were a group of 10. First server was nasty, so we asked to switch and then got a very nice one. The food was not good at all however. Big disappointment. I mean I don't expect top notch food at Buca to start with, but this was really below expectations.

Went for thanksgiving- great value and service!

Service and food are always good here ... been here many times. This visit was for my daughter’s fifteenth birthday. The only thing disappointing was that they never came to the table to sing “Happy Birthday” to her, even after a manager stopped by to ask if the staff had done so yet, to which I replied “not yet”. Never happened.

Food quality seemed low for the price. No one at our table was satisfied especially after the bill came. We don’t mind paying for quality but this didn’t have it. Plenty of better high quality places in Old Town.

Overall the experience was just ok. Salad was loaded with dressing (however they did end up taking off the bill). We sat for quite a while until someone came over to greet us(and even had a reservation). At least 6 servers passed us. Food was good. Prob will not go back soon

Fun environment but food was disappointing. Salad was drenched in too much dressing. Pasta with meat dishes had very little meat.

Love the ambience. I always feel like I am in an Italian movie setting when I am here.

Buca is Buca. Big portions, old fashioned, filling Italian food and fun. It is not gourmet and that is not what is intended. It’s the place for comfort food and friends.

Fun night but a lot of birthday celebrating in our dining area. A little noisy.

If you do family style Italian then you can do Buca.
Not overly anything, the service was terrific.

2 glasses of wine, Caesar salad, Brussel sprouts, salmon, spaghetti and meatballs all good, hearty and fresh. If you are looking for a high end Italian meal, this is not it. If you want something to stick to your ribs in a place where you will be casually comfortable this is for you.

Oh and remember sometimes leftovers are better then the original, I will find out tomorrow and the day after and maybe a day after that... recommend

It was a great night with my girlfriend and the mood was excellent. Buck was our server and he was absolutely great with his service and definitely made the date go by smoother.

We have eaten at Buca for years and this is the second time in 2 months we took a large family group here. It was a reservation for 10 people. They sat us quickly and we even sat at the special “ Pope’s” table. The food portions they promise are large family style and are. However, the last 2 times we were here the service has not been very good and last might was disappointing. The place was not busy. We sat down and ordered a round of drinks. I also showed my server 2 coupons I had, 1 for $20 off and then 2 kids meals with the purchase of adult entree’s. He said he would get them at the end. The drink I ordered was a Kettle One Martini and he soon came back and said they do not have Kettle One. My choice was Tito’s or Bellvedere. I said Bellvedere and off he went. The other drinks were brought out, I ordered 2 large appetizers while we had a cocktail. He then came back about 15 minutes and told me the only Vodka was Tito’s. I said fine, why I wasn’t told that 15 minutes earlier? I asked for waters and they brought 3. I asked if everyone could have one. I ordered a large Caesar Salad and some cheese bread. By the time my drink came everyone was ready for another drink. There were a couple people helping so some were bringing food, no plates because someone else was supposed to bring them, etc. we had to ask for oil for the bread and it came 20 minutes later, you get the picture. We ordered a large spaghetti and meatballs, and the Chicken Marsala. I also got 2 kids pizza’s because I had the coupon. The kids could have easily eaten what we ordered, they are 18 months and 3 years. The food was good but getting extra napkins, etc. was a chore so I finally got up and took them from another table. We had dirty plates in front of us most of the meal. We ordered a huge Sunday for dessert while I waited for the bill after I gave him the coupons. I expected to pay a lot but was disappointed they charged me extra for Tito’s and the manager would not take off the kids meals.

Service was fast and friendly and made my son’s birthday a dinner to remember.

I'm not a big fan of this place because of the family style portions. Its mosty just me and my husband and we totally like different items so sharing does not work well for us. Hate that everything is so big and costly cuz its their way. Husband likes the flavor of the 4 pasta combination and I think it was bland. But he is gringo Italianand I'm the foodie.. i will say that The brussel sprouts app was delicious!! Just hate that it was such a huge plate and even though I love the fact of leftovers, fried brussel sprouts not good the next day. I really wish restaurant would offer a half portion, and several more healthy options besides their "just ok" salads. But if you are someone who loves big sizes, not a big Italian foodie, and goes out to dinner in a larger group, I can suggest this fun restaurant for you!

Great food and fun atmosphere! Same as the one in Chicago which makes it even more enjoyable to us.

This is a typical Buca’s with all the weird fun old photos on the walls. It’s a great place for large groups, good for small kids, & overall a great fun outing for our group.
I’m not a huge Italian food fan and my food rating may reflect that. No one in our party of 8 complained about anything.
Save room for the huge deserts as they are very good & filling.
I felt this Buca’s was as good or better customer service wise than the Buca’s I went to on quite a few occasions in Northern & Southern Ca.
Employees were all in a fun positive mood, which in my opinion is a big reflection of the restaurant manager.

We went in for mothers day and were happy with the food, however, we were there for 2.5 hrs from the time we sat down until we were done paying the check. Our server took WAY to long to check in on us and was not very informed (he needed to check on every question we had about the menu.) Ordering our food took 45 min. Not planning on going back anytime soon.

My daughter took me for Mother’s Day and it was so delicious! Our service was excellent and we had a great lunch!

We had a wonderful dinner with excellent service. Could not have been better.

We came in before 6:00 on a Tuesday with reservations. We were told there was no happy hour that night? There were three adults and four kids: daughter and our grandkids, who are visiting from out-of-state, and we were celebrating Mother’s Day for her, which I had noted on my open table reservation (because they were leaving the next day).

We ordered the mac & cheese right off because the kids were hungry, and it came out fairly quickly. We got the anti pasta salad next and it was already soggy with little cheese and meat. We had to ask for bread (kids favorite) and it took a while. The entrées came out much later and were room temp (not even warm) like they had been sitting a bit... We got a small amount of bread the second time after asking twice, and she never offered to bring more once the late entrées came out and the kids had already finished their mac & cheese. Remember, there were 7 of us ...

I requested extra stuff for the 3/4 of the soggy salad we were taking home and the server did bring out a container with some olives and sliced meat, no cheese.

We spent $80 and left disappointed.

I will say we usually enjoy our meals here and why I said I would recommend to others, but this was not the norm and they were not very busy.

It was prom. The food was out really quick but I wanted the bread and the waiter forgot it. I’m not going to count them off for it tho

The restaurant was well decorated and fun. It had that “enter from the kitchen” vibe, which is appropriate for the style they were going for. It reminds me of a kid-friendly version of Durant’s. The food was good, and the small size of bread, salad, pasta and chicken parmigiana was enough to feed two adults, a 6 year old, a picky teenager and a baby and still have some left over. The food was a bit over priced for the quality but no complaints on the food from the kids. The service was extremely lacking. Our sever asked if it was our first time in and despite the fact that we said yes, he seemed very annoyed that we didn’t know how “it worked” and that he had to repeat himself a few times. He was not friendly nor was he attentive and focused more on the people around us instead of us. My wife wanted to try this place for her birthday and does not want to come back. Thank you to the restaurant for writing our names on the birthday board but one name was incorrect. The hostess who seated us was kind, but when we left they just stared at us. No “thanks for coming in”—nothing. I expected more from the reputation and what we spent.

The lasagna was burnt and the burnt flavor permeated throughout the whole entree. Not good.

Family of 10 on Spring Break. Perfect place to take the kids and let them be kids. They also have great servers and are very accustomed to larger groups. Great chow!

I've never been here before, but I was NOT disappointed. The food was fantastic! The service was amazing. Spencer was our waiter and was the perfect mix between attentive and giving us our space. This will definitely become a regular favorite for us.

I was surprised at the quality of the eggplant parm. usually it is excellent but it seemed to be a little burnt. we ordered a salad to split before that and we were only part way through when our entree arrived. I felt the server was rushing us. she should have timed it better.

Our waitress did a good enough job. Some kind of issue caused us to wait a very long time to get our dinner.

We had a group of 10 for a family birthday celebration. The food was wonderful, we loved our round table. The only complaint was that service was a little slow. Slipping from a leisurely meal to an experience that dragged a little - waiting too long for entrees to arrive and too long for service at the end of meal... and the place was not busy. But the food was wonderful. We will return.
