On Saturday, the restaurant was overcrowded an my 7:15 pm reservation turned into a seating north of 7:45 p.m. The food was not appetizing and how I remembered Buca to be. I was very disappointed.
Went for their daily promotions via eblast marketing and it was deceptive in that there was Monday Madness, 50% of spaghetti, and some other promotion that lured us in to try (otherwise wouldn't have) and when push came to shove it was $60 bucks for a salad, spaghetti and waters. Had a reservation and waited for 15 minutes in an empty restaurant to be seated. Well, first off we were told we had to pay for valet at 8pm at night with a completely empty parking lot. Then the reservation wait, then didn't get any attention for another 15...not silverware, waters, nothing. Food was great in flavor! But everything else was not worth going back and SO expensive. Promotions are very misleading.
Had a reservation at 7 but was still waiting for a table around 7:25. Finally had to inquire about the status of the table and they hastily gave us a table right next to an exit. This table was easily the worst table in the entire restaurant due to the table not being flat and the aforementioned proximity to the exit door. Every time people or workers left through that door, our back was blasted with cold air. Interestingly enough, I saw at least 3-4 booths around us that were empty. Why weren’t we given one of those booths? 🤔 The food was ok, it is what it is and at least we had a good server who was attentive and had a good attitude. Not sure why this buca location has trouble with the reservation and table selection system though.
Stopped by for Valentines with the in-laws and it was quite nice. It felt a bit cramped but that might have been because it was Valentines. The amount of food they give is insane, but it’s served family style which really makes you feel at home. The service was great and the food was good. I am glad we beat the rush since the wait line was to the door when we were departing. As for parking, definitely valet. It’s cheap and you’ll save yourself lots of time roaming the parking lot.
Room was cold and damp. Service was extremely slow.
Went here on free voucher because our Thanksgiving dinner a couple months ago was total crap they ran out of turkey by 5 pm
So decided to use the voucher today the restaurant had 6 tables occupied that should have been a clue. The food was pure garbage the service was lackluster the entire restaurant smells like a the men's room..... When I went in the men's room it was nearly overpowering the food was absolute garbage I have a lot of other words I'd like to use but this is a public forum
We were there for my Mom’s Birthday
We had a great time the food was delicious
The food and ambience is always amazing here, which is why we chose it to celebrate a big change in a career move the other night. The food was delicious, as usual. But, the service was really terrible. It took about 25 minutes to get a refill, and the waitress only stopped by to get our order, bring the food, and the bill. Really unfortunate we couldn't enjoy a more active waitress.
Well the spaghetti and meatballs didn’t have much flavor and the service lacked attention to details. Pricey for the quality served.
The food was great, but the service was taking so long because there were only 2 of them serving that night..other than that we had a great celebration, definitely going back!
Great food! The “small portion” is easily big enough for two people. Get the lasagna...you won’t be disappointed.
We had reservation for 8 people @ 6:00p.m.
They took around 30 minutes to sit us down!
It was really busy!
We order the food right away!
When the food came out they brought the wrong order !
We called the manager out to complain about the order!
She apologized about the mistaken order & comp the whole dinner!
We were all very thankful !
Server was nice guy but horribly slow. At one point after finishing main course we waited 35 minutes to order dessert and waited another 15 minutes to receive it. It was Christmas day so I know they were busy but we almost just asked for the bill and skipped dessert.
This is always a crowded restaurant with people celebrating all kinds of occasions. The servings range from small to ridiculous and is usually pretty good. The noise level is high but there is so much on the walls and hanging from the ceilings that the noise is baffled to a reasonable level.
Okay here's the deal if you're a restaurant and you take reservations then be sure you're ready for people. Secondly if it's Thanksgiving in your advertising a turkey dinner don't run out of it by 6 pm. Number three don't keep reservations waiting for an hour. Never again. Wasted holiday. Color me extremely angry
I made my reservation using Open Table and all went well. I also confirmed directly with the restaurant. For the most part, we enjoyed the food and ambiance. I loved the Apple Gorgonzola Salad and the Lasagna!
Nobody really liked the Chicken Cannelloni because the chicken was sooooo dry! We went for a birthday party and I was a bit surprised that this place, which is a family and group dining experience, doesn't offer a small any complimentary dessert with a candle to help you celebrate. They will sing the birthday song if you buy their dessert and tell them it's someone's birthday. For the amount of money we spent, that should be included, but it is their right. I will say thank you for the coupon I received in the mail from the restaurant which was good for either $20 off or a Free Colossal Brownie Sundae. We used the $20 off coupon and my friends bought me the sundae.
We were a regular to this chain back in Dallas, but this was our first time trying one in California. We went to celebrate a birthday, which was noted on the reservation. We a bunch of first-timers that were excited at first, but got overwhelmed with our servers low level interest in helping us. The food was underwhelming, service was poor, no birthday song...overall crappy experience at this location.
Server was nice. Food took a long long time to come out. When we sat down they didn't have meatballs. No bread was brought, I had to ask and when I did there was none available. It needed to be made. No small plates were brought out to put the oil in to dip our dinner bread. Our reservations were at 6:30pm. We got seated. Placed the order and did not get our dinner until 7:45pm. Very disappointed in this location. Never had a problem at any other locations. Will not return.
Why my son loves this place, I will never understand. Overpriced, subpar service (made a reservation thru OpenTable and wasn't seated for 20 mins?), food is ok but not legit italian. I'd rather go to Il Fornaio for the money!
Ordered pizza with light cheese and came out with heavy cheese and soggy. The salad was soggy and that’s with dressing on side and pieces of lettuce were brown. Our waiter was good, but overall the food is not that great and the inside could use a good power washing.
Everything tastes the same, just different shapes.
Blah, boring but it's cheap for a large group
Excellent service. A few birthday parties happening but it made dinner more fun.
Server was preoccupied
The spaghettiwith meatballs and the shrimp florentine pasta’s were bland, the salad was over dressed, and the calamari was ok. Best thing there was the meatball, and thats not saying too much
We were sat next to a family who brought their little dog to the restaurant- this dog whined and cried all night very annohong
Food was awful. Not like before. Pizza was horrible and salad was tasteless!! Lasagne was sent back! Not going back
We went here for my grandsons 13th birthday, as pasta is his favorite food. We were a group of 7 and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was excellent. She brought more bread out when the boys gobbled it up so quickly. We all liked our dishes. There was more than enough and we took some home. They also sang happy birthday to my grandson and he got a little ice cream. It was a very nice evening.
Good (NY Style) Italian food served family style. Portions are huge and so are some of the prices. However, It was well worth it and we even took some home for the next two days of meals.
Family Style Eating is so much fun with a large group. I came here for my twin nieces' birthday, and the scene was perfect for our celebration. We shared some appetizers & salad and had a few selections of pasta. Lots of left overs! Atmosphere is fun!
Our server though friendly and nice did not remember a number of items. Also, our pizza was not ready even after we finished our meal. One of the dishes was not prepared according to a specific dietary restriction and therefore was not eaten. The manager was nice and took the pizza off the check and treated us to a dessert. Extremely disappointed though. Everywhere we travel we look for a Buca so we can go.
We LOVE this place. Came here after my daughter's 8th grade promotion. The service was fantastic, she was so quick to refill our drinks and check on us often.
Our favorite place.
Buca is always fun to visit when in the mood for traditional Italian-American food. Quantities are huge, quality is consistently excellent, and service is often exceptional. For a large, chain restaurant, they really do it well.
Food was delayed, but great.
Food very ordinary
Seemed a little quieter than usual without the usual vibe and energy.
Service was a slower and lacking. Had to get up and get a clean fork.
The new dessert gelato with cones was good except the cones were a little stale.
Otherwise food is still good, prices have gone up a little.
We went on mother’s day and had reservations. There was only one waitress for an entire section. The area they put us was cold and by the door.
It was slow terrible service. One of the dishes we ordered was served when we were done eating.
Buca di Beppo is accommodating of big crowds. I actually RSVPéd for 8 but ended up with only 5 people total, and they made no big deal about it so that was appreciated. I could do without the mandatory valet parking, with signs posted all over the parking lot that there is no Buca di Beppo parking. They really don't need a valet. My parked car was less than 10 feet away from me when I went to get my keys and could've just gotten in and driven it away myself.
The night met our expectations. We were sat next to a loud party which was a little disappointing, and the service was a little unorganized, but we still enjoyed the food and our evening.
The food here is always good, but this time they were clearly understaffed and it showed. The wait staff is great and it’s not their fault when there aren’t enough of them, but our waiter was clearly covering too many tables. Hopefully they will staff up a bit and let their excellent waiters and waitresses have a bit of a breather.
