Buca di Beppo - Pittsburgh - Station Square Ratings and Reviews
Had an 11am reservation. First table seated. Service started out well but once the food arrived we never saw our waitress again. We received no refills on water or drinks. Another waitress in the area finally offered to clear our table. When our waitress finally surfaced she was rude. We had a party of 11 and had a good bit of leftovers. We asked for take out containers and she brought two. We then asked for more and when she returned with them she asked if the amount of containers was good enough for us. There were only a few tables with patrons the entire time we were there. Not sure why the waitress was so inattentive and rude. Service was also very slow
Keep in mind- family style portions. Be sure you like who you are going with enough to share.
With that being said, the food is good. We got a large bowl of pasta, a salad, bread, and a mozzerella triangles app. All were al a carte but we shared and had some to take home. Large shareable portions with a price to match- it can get expensive. Drinks are good as well, more on the expensive side. Beer is pretty expensive.
We sat on the first floor. There are multiple levels with the bathroom being past and almost through the kitchen (?) on the second floor. There are a lot of stairs which may not be suitable for some. We did not explore the specialty rooms or tables, I believe they are on the third floor.
The decor is random. There are many pictures on the walls- which give you a lot to talk about and look at. Those who are overwhelmed easily would have anxiety though.
Our server, Jessica, was bubbly and adorable. She was helpful and very sweet. Although we did not have the opportunity (or reason) to speak with the manager, he was present in the bar area. He didn't appear to be doing much (interacting with customers, helping out, etc) but hanging around the bar area and interacting with the female employees. I feel he could have been way better utilized on a Saturday night.
Nevertheless, we really enjoyed our night. Quick seating, great service, good food.
Went to Bucca on an off day&time. The food was good but the place was really cold. They had temp heaters in the room to heat the place. It made for a long wait for our food as folks sat with jackets around the table. Additionally, they squeezed the few of us into very tight tables as they tried to only use a small portion of the tables. It made to a interesting atmosphere.
This was our 2nd time at this restaurant. We came down with our son and girlfriend to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers play on New Year's eve and had made reservations before leaving Canada. We didn't want to miss out of a great meal by not making reservations. The waitress was so very polite and happy. She had said this her first time wearing her Steelers jersey to work. She might make it a habit so they keep on winning.
The service at Buca is outstanding. Our server was very friendly, efficient and engaging with our table. She made our early New Years Eve dinner very special!
We have been to this location several times. This past summer with a large party, that included out off town guests , after a Pirate game, Buca was able to accommodate us and offered us flawless service. Thank you
Typically a fun, kitschy spot for dinner. However, this experience had us tripping over a space heater in the middle of the dining room floor and a server that was clueless. We even had the pleasure of seeing "Santa" drinking at the bar before he began strolling through the restaurant. Disappointing.
Reservations don't mean a thing. Three months prior to our dinner which was a small family reunion with family arriving from all over as far as Seattle, I made reservations requesting the Pope room. I got confirmations 3 times. However, they over booked that room at the same time 3 times. Then they stuck our family in a back room corner crammed in for our reunion. The manager did not care it was an attitude as if to say take it or leave it. Our waitress Jen was amazing though and brought fun and life to our situation. The manager however needs to learn some people skills! Upon looking at reviews after our event I found that this is a common practice for this Buca. Management in FL needs to take a look at this guy! Confirmed reservations should mean something! Our reunions will move on next time.
We had the most amazing server, Shannon, who not only made we were well taken care of but also took my goddaughters to tour he kitchen and get their picture taken for the wall and gave them ice cream. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful holiday luncheon. The food was amazing, the server was the best ever and we will definitely be back for more occasions.
We had Thanksgiving dinner here. The food was good and so was the service. However, there must have been something wrong with their heating system as the place was frigid. They had space heaters in our area, but this didn't really help. Too bad that they didn't have this fixed for Thanksgiving day.
Arrived and out table was ready through Open Table.... what a great app!! Both of us Ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was absolutely delicious! We could have ordered just one and split it because we took home so much food that we will be eating chicken Parm for a few days. We love visiting Buca! They never disappoint - service was fantastic!
We made a reservation on Open Table, and checked in 20 minutes early. Our party of 4 was all present and sat waiting in the lobby. The restaurant CALLED my cell after our reservation time to see if we were still coming. It was ridiculous and showed me that the host appeared to have
no idea what was going on. The evening was busy, but I've seen it busier. Food took longer than usual - and we were sat in a small rear eating area with a large, loud birthday celebration. There were electric heaters everywhere. Although it was light up night in Pittsburgh - a busy time - the restaurant was less than average in performance. Our server was very nice - but also had to be reminded about items more than once. I'm hopeful this was an anomaly and will definitely be back - it's a seasonal staple in our household - but if it keeps up, we'll find someplace new.
Service was average to poor at best, took our server a long time to ask us if we wanted drinks (15-20 min). We didn't get the right order and when they tried to fix it they delivered us raw undercooked chicken. Other food was just average. I wouldn't go back.
