This was ones of the worst dining experiences of my life, and I dine out a lot. I would give zero stars if that was possible. Where to begin? We were a party of five - all adults - and the restaurant, although a Friday evening, wasn’t crowded. Our appetizer (garlic bread), was served 45 minutes after we ordered it, cold. (To their credit, they removed the $12 charge because it took so long) Our family-style entrees were served thirty minutes later - two cold, one warm. The chicken parm tasted like it had been fried in rancid oil. The fettuccine Alfredo was congealed by the time it got to the table. The salad was edible. The crowning touch was the expense of the meal. For five people, the bill was $145. There was one beer, two mixed drinks, and two soft drinks. No wine. Sodas were $3.29 each, and the Moscow mules were $16 each. I have paid far less in New York and San Fran. This is a chain restaurant in a mid-priced city. The waitresses explanation for the horrible service was that there were two banquets being served. But there was almost no one else in the entire restaurant. Come on people!
I normally don’t give scathing reviews to restaurants, but if I can save one family from this place, it’s worth it!
We are sorry to hear you did not fully enjoy your recent visit. We appreciate that you have taken the time to write to us, as it will only help us improve ourselves. Thank you for giving us the chance to make it right for future visits.
Waited 40 minutes for reservation. Server was horrible, and took forever.
We apologize for the longer than expected wait time. The management team has been made aware of your comments for improvement in our service and expediency.
True Italian style food. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! We look forward to welcoming you back to Buca di Beppo soon!
This is a good place for a group. We took some out of town relatives.
Not sure what to say. Took a group of scouts for a family style dinner. Food was bland, portions were really misrepresented and there were pieces of a plastic bag in the wilted and rotting salad. Such a shame!
Seated one hour after reservation time. Restaurant ran out of meatballs and bread, no sausage or dessert. Yikes. Guess on a holiday weekend they weren’t expecting customers? Probably won’t be back.
Service was ridiculously slow... for EVERYTHING ordered. Some food was barely warm. The 3 mixed drinks were TERRIBLE. Overcharged for a drink we did not order, they had no idea how to credit it off the check. The spaghetti was sitting in 1/3 of water!
It went from bad to worse in the THREE HOURS we were there.
Service was a little slow, but we had a great time and a good meal.
It was a great place to take kids because it was a little loud, the booths are private-ish, and they have a lots of kid friendly food options. Plus the adult food is delicious and the cocktail menu is nice!
The food was poor, the waiter was well intended but spoke over the guests.
It took 1.5 hours to get our food.
The customer service experience was top class and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend the Tiramisu. A dining delight.
Sorry. Loud. Food sub par. One dish was unrecognizable. Food was luke warm. Not like i remember the restuarant used to be. Will not be returning.
To be honest, it is a cute place, but the food is really so so but the decor is what makes it fun.
The service was fine, the cost was pretty high unless you are dining in a group where everyone likes the same food. It would be better if they had single meal options, instead of just family style. I was glad to get a reservation since it was Mother's Day.
Dinner after daughter’s First Communion. Our waiter was the best I’ve had at Buca and one of the best I’ve had in a long time anywhere.
My sons graduation
Thank you for choosing Buca di Beppo to celebrate your special occasion! We appreciate you sharing your experience with us and hope you visit us again soon!
Well, we’ll never go back . Food was okay but you get better at any local family owned Italian restaurant. The family style is “neat”... but does t improve the food . Our server did the best she good but you could tell she had a lot of tables because it took 45 minutes for my wife to get her first glass of wine .. really at that point I was done .. hope everyone else has a better experience than us .
This was a birthday dinner. It was a relaxed family-style meal. We enjoyed the food and had a good time socializing.
We have been to a few of the Buca around the country. This was interesting because it was three levels. The salad and pasta was really good but the pizza was probably one of the worse theaters I have had in a long time. Our server, Kaitlin was totally outstanding. With all of this said I would return to Buca’s again
Typical Buca in that there was only two tables occupied in the room and we were seated directly next to each other causing both parties to talk over each other instead of giving each party some space so we could actually converse utilizing normal voice levels.
The server obviously did not want to be there so an other server had to compensate for the lack of service.
Our original server spent the most time with our table at check time.
Very loud. Food came out all it once - salads and dinner.
Food was cold.
Very noisy and didn’t apply my discount. Good thing I caught it. They did fix it
It was alright not great
Great food just wish there were more vegetarian options. Waitress was great. Food was great. Loved the decor!!
Super friendly staff! Excellent night!
The service was terrible from the minute we sat down. We were a party of 10, And I had one waitress, and she clearly could not handle it by herself. It even took a long time for someone to come over and greet us and take our drink orders. The food took a very long time, and so to the appetizers. And the quality of the food it was not good at all. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
There is a lot to see at this restaurant. But I was so surprised when the bill arrived. $114 plus a tip for average food for two people.
We had made a reservation for 5:30 on a Saturday night, to which we had to wait until 5:50 to be seated as we watched other guests be seated before us. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we got everything on a timely manner. While booking the reservation online we had requested a special anniversary dessert, however, the hostesses were confused/not aware and we did not have an anniversary dessert for us as requested. Slightly disappointing but the service and food was good.
WE LOVE BUCA. THIS IS OUR SECOND TRIP AND OUR EXPERIENCE WAS AWESOME. FOOD, SERVICE , ATMOSPHERE ARE SECOND TO NONE. YOU'VE GOT TO GO.
This is a family style restaurant with large portions. There was only 2 of us. I recommend this place for people who doesn’t like seasoning (bland) food. We had chicken fettuccine, salad and cheese bread. The price of the meal was rounded off 67.00 for lunch.
One of our favorites! Always great food. We went for lunch which the prices are great and very quiet, and our 2 yr old loved the kids pizza!!
Sadly- this was a really disappointing New Year's Eve dining spot. My husband and I had made a 10:00 PM reservation and of course were planning on ordering dinner. We were seated and then ignored for at least 15 minutes, before our server even approached the table. When he finally did, he acted surprised that we we wanted to order dinner. He said- " if you are going to order food- please do so quickly as the kitchen is going to be closing" We told him that we had a reservation with the intention to order food!! He then told us that we could order food. At that point- it was almost 10:30, so we opted out of dinner and ordered a pizza. It was average at best. He never apologized for this strange behavior, but seemed to be in a hurry to be done. We never experienced anything like this before. Imagine wanting to order dinner at a restaurant!!
Never going back to Buca- Pittsburgh location.
We had no problem with our dinner reservation on New Year's Eve. We had a large party and the table was ready and the server was patient and attentive to the younger children in our group.
Good food, but not suited to quiet conversations, yet, since my hubby's family is Italian, not sure we ever ate a family style meal that was not utter mayhem. :)
Were seated quickly and host/hostess were very pleasant and professional. Our waiter Chris was very polite, professional and very helpful. I think the menu could be expanded to include some meats. Baked ziti was somewhat hard
Our Server Caitlin was great!. The kitchen was slow. Took over an hour for our food.
We were very disappointed in the food. The veal was tough, the salad wilted with too much dressing and the pasta wasn’t drained enough and was swimming in water. We did enjoy the chicken dish though.
The spicy chicken rigatoni was amazing!
We're so glad to hear you loved our spicy chicken rigatoni, as much as we loved making it for you! We hope you'll come back soon!
Thank you for dining with our famiglia and sharing your experience! We hope you visit us again soon!
We've been there many times. Love it. Had our rehearsal dinner there several years ago.
Thank you for your continued loyalty and for choosing Buca for your special events! Our famiglia looks forward to welcoming you back again soon!
