Buca di Beppo - Pittsburgh - Robinson Town Center Ratings and Reviews
Aweful waiter. Asked for a Bud light, got a Budweiser, and no glass. Asked for a glass - it took 10 minutes and by then the beer was gone. By the way, the waiter did the same thing to the table next to us - they ordered Miller light and he brought Miller. Ordered an appetizer and cheese bread to come before our entree. He brought the appetizer but said he forgot the bread so we had spicy shrimp without bread. Bread finally came out with the entree. Very slow and sloppy service.
The food was great from the bread and oil to the shrimp linguini and green beans. The small portion was more than enough for my wife and I. We were seated in the back of the restaurant near two large and loud parties, which diminished our experience some' there were other tables in quieter sections of the restaurant where they could have seated us. The waitress was great; attentive without hovering. Overall a great meal, but I would have preferred better seating away from the big parties and noise to allow us to enjoy our conversation and the outstanding background music.
Always like eating at Buca. But, this time we ordered salad and entree, and half way through eating the salad we were told that the entree we ordered was no longer available. Had to order something else. What we ended up getting was alright, just not what we had our taste buds set for.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm and were told it would be over an hour for a table. I went into the Open table app and got a reservation for 6:15pm. Ridiculous! The food is good the service was average. Took forever to get refills and our dessert. They were not even busy that evening.
The service was very bad. We waited 25 minutes and then had to ask for bread. Our order came out finally, but we had to ask where it was. The spaghetti was overcooked. The manager offered a dessert, but our server didn't even mention it when we asked for the check. (We didn't want it anyway). This visit was so painful we couldn't wait to leave. The server was always smiling, but seemed to not really care at all. We asked to take the rest of dinner home and the server gave us a "do it yourself" container, no bag.
Overall bad experience. Service took 39 minutes to bring first round of beverages and didn't bring correct ones. On top of that she tried to pawn off different brand liquor then requested due to not having instead of telling us. Food was below average for what we expected and the portions normally very large were less than expected. In addition the food arrived at different temps and different times. One of the servers was at the table next to us three times before our waitress came once.
I would like the manager to call me.
Out Christmas shopping and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Went to open table to see if we could snag a last minute reservation for a nice meal and stumbled on to this place. Showed up on time and they could not find our reservation and ended up marking us a no show to open table. Which was corrected. The decor and ambience of this place is just sad. The horrid carpet was filthy, the walls are covered with so much junk that is meant to be nostalgic but just looks tacky. We ordered two different pasta dishes, a salad and garlic bread with mozzarella. My husband was disgusted as the parm cheese shaker on the table was filthy. Salad came out and the lettuce was soggy. Server brought our entree and told us to enjoy, however she only brought one. She didn't come back around until we were halfway through eating and my husband asked where the other pasta dish was. She came back several minutes and said that our stuffed shells were still frozen. We told her to cancel the item and we were totally annoyed. Clearly she had forgot our order. The manager did come over and apologized and did send the pasta home with us for free, which was nice. Pasta is simply boxed pasta and the sauce tastes like it came from a jar. We both felt it was a bizarre dining experience and I can assure you that we will not be going back. Also, I made a trip to the ladies room. Outdated with a faucet that dripped and did not run when I was washing my hands. Curious to know how female food workers achieve clean hands with the faucet issue. Also, a real classy touch having a sign inside the stall saying "ladies please remain seated for your entire performance". Again, an utterly bizarre dining experience.
Food was great, as usual! Made reservations online and were seated promptly upon arrival. Server was very attentive; kept the bread coming and checked frequently on our beverages. Had our usual Apple Gargonzola salad (now a family favorite) and this time, we opted for Chicken and Sausage Ziti. Cooked to perfection. The sausage had a little tang to it, but was good nonetheless. Will definitely be returning.
We dined at Buca in Robinson recently. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy and to me was noisy with a couple of large groups. The food was ok. Meatballs very good (and large). Garlic bread really overly garlickly (and I like garlic). The service was good and it's a good place to take a group.
Buca di Beppo is your typical chain family friendly restaurant but the food and service leaves much to be desired. I would not go here again. The food took forever, came out cold, ordered items were forgotten and the service was terrible. We did go for lunch on Easter Sunday so perhaps they just couldn't handle the crowds - although the restaurant was not terribly busy.
Made a reservation for Valentine's Day. I totally understand it's going to be a little crazier than normal. That was expected.
Reservations were for 7.
We were seated around 7:05. (Off to a good start)
Our server came over around 7:20 to ask for our drink order. Other waitresses were actually asking us if we had been seen because we were sitting so long with no drinks.
Got our drinks around 7:40 (tea and water) the wine we ordered came about 10 minutes later.
Our waiter took our order for garlic bread appetizer and chicken parm dinner around 7:55. (When the wine came)
We received the bread at 8:40 and dinner came around 9:10.
Never got refills or even seen our waiter. I've never had such poor service at Buca.
Luckily my date and I had a wonderful time talking and laughing about it but it was a very poor experience.
