Buca di Beppo - Maitland Ratings and Reviews
Was seated took 20 mins to get a server to get us drinks 30 mins for apps to arrive never took our entree order manager had to get it while apologizing for apps being so late when entree arrived 15 mins later was stone cold on the Inside...so finally told manager we had had enough and left Very very disappointed
Luke is great for every day but especially for celebrations with large parties. Meal portions are huge and meant to share with several people offered in small and large plates either way it's a great value. Food is great, service is good with a fun atmosphere
The food was fantastic. A lot more than I could eat at one setting, but great for leftovers. The service couldn't have been any better. That was my second time eating there and I'll be back on the 12th of August for my husbands 70th Birthday. And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your restaurant to my friends.
Well some food came out burnt and then some cold and we waited almost 50min for food and the food was cold (ravioli). The Server was nice and helped out but not the best performance from this place. I even asked for a special table and they told be no but the table sat empty the whole time.
Jen, our server, was very attentive to all our needs. She was quick to help with replacing one of our entrees that did not taste as well as expected.
The executive chef, John Flaherty, was exceptional. He made us a special dish to make up for the entree (Chicken Marsala) that we had ordered and were not satisfied with. John spent a long time with us to make sure that we were completely satisfied. We will return to this restaurant again, just because of the warm and friendly service we received from the staff and the chef.
Food was great as usual. Very busy as it was Mother's Day so my son's non alcoholic drink was left dry for quite a bit of time. Also took awhile for the food to come out. But again, it was a busy day, we were told that they were running out of things too. We made reservations and got taken right in! Glad we did because people were waiting inside and out.
Our group of 8 went to Buca's to celebrate Mother's Day. We had reservations and did not have to wait for our table. Alyssa was awesome as our server, attentive to our every need. Everything we ordered came out just right and in a timely manner. Definitely an enjoyable celebration all the way around!
We love Buca, but they sat us in the bar area. Yuck! I made reservations in advance and we got to sit in the bar area. We ordered the. Asked rigatoni and some of the pasta was crunchy! Again yuck! Everything else was good. I may have to stop going on special occasions if the food is not up to par.
The food is good, but the prices are high. Restaurant can become quite loud because large parties are easily accommodated. Unfortunately, it often seems that parents of small children think it IS a basement and forget they are at an establishment where others people are also enjoying meals. We were seated in a back room that had a loud, but not overwhelming, atmosphere. One large party left and the noise level dropped substantially. Sadly, before long another large party with out-of-control children was seated in the same place. We had to leave because of the discomfort the children's screaming caused us. This is in no way the restaurant's fault; however, be aware of what to expect.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced for an upscale Italian restaurant. This restaurant is always a favorite for large groups and get togethers. The service was excellent, the selection was wonderful and overall it was a pleasant place to dine. The booths were a little tight and tables just a bit high and there is simply not enough parking.
They serve you family style. The small plates feed about 3 people and run about $19 and up depending on what you get of course. I highly recommend the the apple something salad. Everything we tried was delicious. It is definitely Italian comfort food. It is very cozy inside with old pictures covering every inch of the walls. It is also very cold temperature wise so bring a jacket.
In a word, disappointing. Restaurant wasn't busy but they were understaffed. We had to wait 25 min despite having a reservation. One of the dishes arrived missing an ingredient. The spaghetti was undercooked, not 'al dente' but hard. One of the chicken parm pieces was also undercooked.
Made reservations through open table for 10pm they called me and told me that I needed to come in at 9:15pm because they closed at 10pm so we got there at 8:45pm (early) was not seated until 10pm they were picking up rugs and cleaning tables by the time we were seated then we order a large family plate and told the waiter several times that I couldn't have spice food d/t allergies and the food came out super spicy. They apologized and told us they couldn't make it again because they had ran out of seafood so we had to order another plate. The alfredo sauce was so bland that it literally taste like someone opened a can of alfredo sauce and poured it in our plate I guess the cook got mad at us although it was not our fault. Horrible way to have New Year's Eve diner completely ruined our special event. Never again
The server abandoned us, I think her name was Stephanie.
After bringing the water when we first got there she came back to get the order, after that, not even a napkin was provided. I had to stand up and get some by myself. She only came back to the table to see if we wanted dessert and bring us the check. Horrible service but GREAT FOOD!
The bread basket was brought to us by another waitress after 12 minutes because we asked that one for it, the food was also brought by someone else, who by the way, didn't provide plates, I had to again stand up and get them by myself. Thankfully we were seating near that station by the big private room where the plates and cutlery are. I found that to be weird as this is not out first time visiting Buca and never had a problem before. In addition, the restaurant was not even packed at that time. December 31 at 1:00 pm. Looked like two big events were going on, but our waitress was not involved in those. She just went hiding or something, again horrible service but great food.
I reserved a table at Buca for my family because it was one of the few places I could find open on Christmas Day. I had already looked at the menu and it seemed like a restaurant that we'd like. When we first got there, there was a very unclear valet sign, so we didn't park our vehicle only to find our key laying on the curb near the sign that had been knocked down as we left the restaurant. I actually panicked because I couldn't find my car in the parking lot as we left, but thankfully my nieces noticed it in the parking lot across the street. I checked in for our reservation 10 minutes early. While waiting to be seated, I noticed that 3 groups with the same reservation time as ours walk in after us and sat down before us. We were seated 10 minutes after our reservation time. Our waitress was very rude and impatient, none of us liked the food, and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had while dining out.
We went because this one of the few restaurants open on Christmas Day. Extremely loud, and difficult to talk to my husband. Not the best place for only two people, everything is served family style. Go with some friends, it would be much better. Building is definitely showing age and disrepair, but the food was excellent.
We were very happily surprised that we were seated immediately. Last year on Christmas Day we had an extremely long wait and ended up sitting in the bar area balancing our plates. This year we were seated immediately at our reservation time at a nice sized table. Our server continuously forgot our food and drinks. My husband ordered a beer and it was never brought. He had to change his drink order to an iced tea. We ordered a salad to start and it took way too long to receive it. Our entrees were brought out by another person in a reasonable amount of time. We consistently went without drink refills although our server walked back and forth by our table. It took a long time for us to order our dessert and even longer to receive it. Our dessert coffee was brought out and finished at least 10 minutes before our desserts arrived. Again we ended up sharing a glass of water between the 3 of us. It took way too long for us to get our check and to pay. We love the restaurant and it is our Christmas Day tradition. Maybe our server was just having an off day even thought the restaurant was not busy at the time we were there.
