We had a large group celebrating a birthday. Our table was filled with what seemed like half the menu. Everything was tasty -- from the spicy (whew!) shrimp appetizer to eggplant parm and brussel sprouts. We had a great time.
It had been a few years since we visited Buca di Beppo. We had a large group meeting to celebrate 2 special occasions, and thought the family style service would be fun. I did not remember how good the food was! There were 9 of us, and we started with the sampler platter appetizer, then had 2 large entrees and garlic bread. We were all stuffed, and had leftovers! Great food and very reasonable.
Food was pretty good but the Caesar salad was frozen
Food was great, a little pricey though. Wait staff was wonderful.
We had a fantastic experience at Buca! Half our party was late getting there, but our server Cole was so friendly, professional, and understanding. The food came quickly and was fresh and delicious. We love Buca and will definitely be back!
Had a birthday and the service was great. Abbi was fantastic.
Very good food and our service was great. Would recommend to everyone
This the second time in a row we have come to this restaurant using a reservation. Apparently here, reservations are worthless. Made this reservation a month early. Get there a couple of minutes early. After waiting 15 minutes after our reservation time, I check back with the hostess whom told me there was one couple ahead of me. During the following 15 minutes later, half hour after our reservation time, two large groups and five couples were seated. After speaking to a manager, he said we were somehow skipped over. This is not the first time.
Guessing we probably will not return since this is a regular thing that happens to the wife and me when we come to this restaurant. It’s a shame, cause we like the food.
Date night with hubby. 2 people is difficult at family style when you can’t or don’t want to agree on menu. We always start out agreeing to ordering 1 or 2 small menu items but end up with more. Our leftovers filled 4 large containers. Good thing everything we tried was worth keeping. Garlic bread was appropriately garlicky and good enough that I couldn’t stop eating it. Spicy chicken penne was awesome. I LOVE the chicken limone but ask for extra sauce so there is enough especially if it will be reheated later. The italiano supreme pizza has a meat sauce, meat and large vegetable pieces. I thought the large vege pieces didn’t cook as much as I liked but it matched my husbands preference. The meat sauce is really chunky and my husband was thrilled. I think I would have liked another sauce (or pizza) better but that is just personal preference. We will be eating leftovers for days but i wasn’t wanting to cook this week anyway!
Hadn’t eaten here for years and recently went back for our daughter’s 12th birthday dinner with all of the family. Was so disappointed in how dirty it was - we had to ask for new plates because of stuck on food. Water glasses had lip rings from previous diners. The food was warm & I could’ve had a much better meal for the same price at any of the other restaurants on the Plaza. A disappointment all around.
great waitress but so loud had to scream to have a conversation
Food was ok--first time we had marsala. We thought that it was just way too sweet. The chef, however, made it up by giving us some shrimp florentine (which was excellent). Other items that were served were terrific (calamari, salad, bread). Risoto was too creamy. However, servings were excellent. The carpet, I think, is due for either an upgrade or a deep steam cleaning. The vents, especially by the corners, needed to be cleaned. Other than this, Buca is a great place to dine. I would still go back, but I hope they would consider our recommendations. :) Waiter was great!
Service was okay and could have been better. Small things like no silverware, took a while to turn around checks, didn't really check in on us - but food was good
This is a great place to meet with friends and family especially for birthdays.
Everyone in our party of 10 (besides the toddlers 2 of them) so 8 of us got sick. We've been to Bucca multiple times and this has never happened however for the price we paid upwards of $250 I feel that we should not have gotten ill...
Had reservations to take our daughter out for a special night out with mom and dad. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We have eaten here before and had a great experience. First, didn't see our waitress for at least 20 minutes after being seated. It was NOT busy. Finally came and took our drink order. Came back with 2 of 3 drinks. Our daughters came out about 5 minutes later. Fine, can deal with that. Not ideal, but whatever. We order and our food comes out as normal...except our daughters food wasn't there. Waitress said she would check on it. Came back and said she had never put it on the ticket so her food wasn't made. She asked if we still wanted it (???). Manager came over in the meantime and asked how everything was. We were polite, but wasn't a great dinner, so we told him of our issues. After we told him, he said, "huh." No apologies, just moved on to the next table. We weren't expecting anything, but an apology would have gone a long way right then. Won't be going back any time soon.
The waiter we had was really good, precise and knowledgeable
We waited for 45 minutes with a reservation standing next to the menus. We had to move out of the way each time they seated someone. My husband asked twice if they meant Shawn party of 5 instead of Shaw party of 4 and again Shaw party of 6, both times being told no. The third time he went to ask about us being seated the hostess went back two pages and said we called you which we responded no you didn’t we’ve been standing here the entire time. She argued with us but did proceed to find us a table. No apology given. Okay we are an easy going family so no big deal. We ordered cocktails a bottle of wine a combination appetizer platter and a few small entrees to share. 20-30 minutes later we were asked by our server what we had received of our order and we politely told him just the waters when we were seated. He was friendly and went to check on our order. Finally we received our salad and then appetizer platter and drinks. A few minutes after we finished our appetizer the hostess brings out another appetizer platter to realize we had finished ours already. The meal was good and I will say the dessert was incredible!!! The chocolate cake is fabulous!! We boxed up our leftovers and our server informed us that there were no take out bags to carry our boxes in. I carry a large handbag so no big deal. As we left passing the carry out window my husband asked for a bag and the manager turned and asked a server to hand us a bag from the stack beside him. The server that handed us our bag was ours the same guy who told us there were no bags in the entire restaurant. We had to laugh. Would have been nice to have been offered a complimentary anything maybe the cheapest, the garlic bread but we were not. We will give Bucca another try another night and maybe they will do better.
Walked out on reservation before being served. Very disappointed in service.
It was so cold I could not take my coat off! I ate in my heavy coat! Also they put us at this tiny table and did not have room for the food, we ordered an appetizer and before it was half way done our food came out! This was my first time here and will probably not go back!
Celebrated our daughter getting accepted to college.
Great value awesome food will be back soon!!!!!!!??
We went with friends for NYE and the service was great! Our waitress was so friendly and quick!
Amazing service and amazing food that he suggested
Great food and the service was also great (Perrin did an awesome job).
had reservations at 8:00, arrived early around 7:45 . Got seated at 8:15. Took forever to get our bread, appetizers and salads. The smell was not pleasant in the restaurant. We finally left at 10:00pm with full bellies. The food was so so but not worth the long long wait. Very dissapointed
Absolute worst dining experience in my life! The GM refused to take off the items that were cold and arrived very late to the table because I used the word Damn. Definitely feel like all 8 of my family members were robbed and pushed to the side. The first manager that we spoke to was very defensive on why our food was late and assured us that many guests were waiting which I’m sure was the case. But we watched 2 other groups of 7 plus come and go with just as much food ordered. I told the first manager to remove the food that arrived late and cold to which he said ok. My family waited to see a check for another 20 min and no one came back. Next I asked to speak to the GM who told me nothing would be removed from our ticket for use of the word DAMN to the first manager. I then just asked for the tab to hurry and get out as I had two very young children that were tired and upset. This place needs some real work!
Were seated quickly. Food and service great as always. A little pricey, though.
Took the family for Christmas Eve dinner. The boys loved it. They especially loved it when our server Jack brought them dough. Had a blast. Food is great. The best ever. First time experience for them. So glad they loved it.
Busy but excellent food and service. Gigantic portions and delicious food
Amazing food and atmosphere
Great time for a family get together! Food was really good as usual.
Great service and delicious food!
This was our family’s first visit. The dishes we had were amazing. If we go again we may ask if there is an option to get additional sauce. We had manicotti and there was only enough sauce for half of the family sized plate. Other than that one thing everything else was great, and we had a very sweet and helpful server.
Overall good experience. It took about 15 minutes to get seated even with a reservation. Appetizer came quickly but the main course took a bit to come out.
We came to the Plaza area to see the Christmas lights with family. The restaurant offers an affordable meal for a party of eight! Delicious food!
I always enjoy my visits to this restaurant; I tell other people about it all the time. I don't drink, so I can't comment on the drinks. The only concern by me and the other person (her first visit) was that it was freezing cold. She kept trying to get warm. Normally they have the heat on.
Not our best experience here. It had been a few years since I had been. Our server says he had 16 years experience, doing what I am not sure. We had a party of 8 and to ask to "hand down" everything instead of actually serving each person is lazy and to me unprofessional, set the water and plates in front of the patron. Food was OK, three of the dishes were cool, not cold but cool. I think they sat on the pass a little too long. There was too much time between each course, It was also about 15 minutes from the time I gave him my CC to the time he returned. Things could have been smoother, it was OK because we had big group. But, it could have been better, much better.
